Denis passed away this morning at 9:15. He had leukemia.
He will be greatly missed by his brothers ans sisters, his son and two daughters as well as his grandson and granddaughter.
His wife died a few years ago from cancer also.

Oh, so very sorry Curly. I like his signature line "I'm a man of few words but I use them often". He had a lot to say and I loved to hear it. What an intelligent and gentle soul. I will miss him. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Did you ever stop to think and then forget to start again?

Oh my goodness. That is so sad to hear. My condolences to you and Orleansbelle. Denis will be missed by all at Gameboomers. He was such a great contributor to the Garden. Always presented insightful solutions. Good thoughts and prayers to the family.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I must add that Denis was figuring math problems with his daughter and son to the end, he had a great mind and a huge heart. Rest in peace my brother, I love you to pieces.

Denis will be sorely missed by many of us: RIP
I am sure that there is an apt but irreverent quote in Terry Pratchett somewhere, but I cannot find one at the moment.

Oh, my heart is breaking. I had so much respect for Denis and I so loved his sense of humor and, of course, his puzzles. I have thought of him often in the last few weeks and was looking forward to his return to the garden. He always managed to put a smile on my face. He will be missed. Remi and Belle, please accept my condolences. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Your sad news hurts all of our hearts, Remi. Denis was a real presence on this board, both a mathematician and a lover of the vagaries of the English language.
My sincere condolences to your family, Remi and Belle. Denis will be sorely missed.

My dear Remi and Belle, I have been out of town and missed this terribly sad news. I can only echo the beautiful words from my fellow Boomers. I was always so proud of myself when I solved one of his clever, often amusing puzzles. I will miss him. My love and prayers go out to you and your family. With heartfelt sympathy, Joan

My condolences to you Curly and OrleansBelle. I'm so sorry I missed this and I am late in responding. I don't get to play in the garden but I know his contributions and humor. He will be sorely missed.
