Thanks, Joe! I saw this last year. I still have a lot of clients grain-free but more are switching or allowing at least grain treats. Mine eat the same for years without designer food and live to ripe old age!

Cats have also been affected.

Ana, what do you feed your dogs.?

I switched to Blue Buffalo grain free because my larger dog, Zork, has a sensitive stomach. It looks like I may have to rethink my choice, since that brand does appear on the list quite a few times. Thank you for the information, Joe.

connie, I have used Purina One SmartBlend Large Breed dog food for as long as I can remember. Both my big dogs lived to 14 and active till the end. Even my vet used Purina on her dog. I add half a packet of Forti-Flora in her evening meal and add Plaque-off powder in her morning bowl. Nugget is 6 years old and has whitest teeth and silky coat. I care for lots of dogs with extremely expensive food options and they are not healthier.

L4L and I have used many different brands over the years; this topic came up within this past year or so and we discussed with our Vet and ended up switching our two youngsters back to kibble with grain.

connie, I either make or buy organic bone broth and Nugget gets 1/8 cup stirred into her dog food so the fortiflora and the plaque off powder stick.
Her treats are Fromm's Crunchy O's. I think it's a fine (not to mention affordable) choice of food! How is Becky doing?

Thanks Ana. Our biggest problem at the moment is her jumping on people. We have a thunder shirt to help with her separation anxiety. She is a big girl, 40 lbs. at 5 months.

Best thing to do ids ignore her when she jumps. Walk away and don't acknowledge her. If you touch her and talk to her its all attention and she will be happy. If you go to her and all 4 paws are on the floor give her lots of love.
