Wow, the graphics look wonderful, more like an older full-format Adventure game than yet one more of the purple-fog HOA clones. I definitely will check it out! Thanks, Marian.

I stayed up all night finishing it.

In the last chapter there are puzzles that cannot be skipped. All previous puzzles could be.

Now need Adera 2.

Good to know, Guybrush. I don't know if there will be an Adera 2.

I'm playing this game and enjoying it. I've noticed on GB's reviews, several people said it was a short game. It has four episodes, when you are done with the first, press escape and see "episodes." Then "play" and you'll get the next one. I think it's a pretty long game.

Thanks, Laurette. That was what I thought. This release contains all the episodes, so it is certainly not short.

If no one has the answer for you, Laurette, there seem to be some walkthroughs on YouTube that might be of help.

That one had me because I didn't realize there were more stumps on the edge of the screen and I wasn't seeing them. And thats one with no skip option.

I am enjoying this very cinematic game that feels a lot like one of the Adventure games from the 90's. Beautiful, painterly graphics and original ideas/execution. But I am struggling a bit with how it works. For example, it took a lot of experimenting to figure out how to navigate, in general. It took half an hour to realize I could turn around 180 degrees AND look up and down in some scenes (but not all).

Also, there are only graphic clues for some things (no text) and that can get you into trouble. There are "arrow" buttons for turning around or backtracking, but there also are "arrow" buttons in the mini-games ~ but these DON'T mean to backtrack; they mean to SKIP the puzzle. I got burned on that twice before learning the lesson.

So, I am wondering if there is anywhere to find some Rules of the Game to help me progress a bit more smoothly. I don't want to miss a thing! happydance

Finally, does anyone know if buying this "sequential" game means that I only bought the first Chapter and will have to purchase the additional chapters?

Reenie I merged your post with our Adera thread - maybe another player will be able to help you with specific questions. wave

My understanding is that the Big Fish version of Adera contains every episode, so you get the complete game.

There appear to be walkthroughs available including one on YouTube.

I knew as soon as I posted my question, I would find my own answer.
I logged out of the game, went back in and the butterfly was in my inventory. Must have been a little burp in the program!
It's a really fun game. rah

Hi, wave2
Does anyone know where to find the missing butterfly for the one of the six statues in chapter 2?
"Properly place the missing items on six statues."

My inventory shows a butterfly shaded image but there is no butterfly there.
I've look on the web youtube, but can't seem to locate any info.

Thanks for the help,

There is a Steam thread here where the developer states that the Collector's Edition includes a strategy guide as well as bonuses. I don't know if the Big Fish version has these items - someone else would have to tell us that. If it does, then the Big Fish release is the Collector's Edition. I do know that it contains all five episodes of the game.

The only one I can find on Big Fish is the one that is linked to in the 1st post in this thread. It doesn't say CE, and it's only $6.99 for members, which is their normal SE price. The reason I'm asking is because there is a CE BOGO going on now at Big Fish.

My GUESS is that since the game is not called a CE, it is not part of that sale then.

It wouldn't be part of the CE sale, no.

This game is fantastic. I am so involved in exploring, fiddling with things, solving puzzles. So much like a "real" Adventure game from years ago.

Does anyone know how to silence the monotonous sound track that bangs away while you work every puzzle? There aren't separate Menu choices for the various aspects of the game (voices, music, background...) Currently, I am having to dial down my speakers to Zero every time I start a puzzle in order to escape that tense music that adds stress to the sequence (plus, the musical theme lingers in the mind like a nagging musical earworm).

If there aren't any slider bars for music, voices, etc., then I don't know.

Hi Reenie,
Agree 100% on the horrid music during the puzzles! I did the same thing in turning off the sound each time I started a puzzle. Also, searched the web for a how to mute that sound, but couldn't fine anything.

Finished the game and truly enjoyed it, hints available even though it wasn't called a CE game. To bad there isn't a sequel. I would buy it in a minute.
Have you finished it Reenie?

No, I have the last Chapter to go before I'm finished. But I haven't been back because of that "earworm" music during the puzzles. It just isn't worth it to me. Not sure I will bother to finish it. Too bad, because I really loved having a game that felt more like a good Adventure game!

Can you lower your computer system volume at all? I have a volume control in my task bar that works to lower game volume (at least the few times I've tried it).

Oh, yes, I do have a volume control on my computer, OldBroad. I had been turning it all the way down for each puzzle, then turning it back up again. The thing is, the puzzles are very frequent, and I'm getting irritated by having to roll the knob down and then back up for every puzzle. There are too many other great games out there to play. I don't feel compelled to stay with one that becomes more annoying than fun.

I have this game from Steam and a few days ago while going through my library downloading some games I saw this posted on the game:

"Hello, all!

We're pleased to announce that HitPoint Studios has been acquired by Penn National. Unfortunately, for both business and legal reasons, that means we will be removing our products from Steam and other platforms. Those that have purchased Adera previously should still have access to the game.

Thank you so much for enjoying our game!"

This sounds to me like the game is no longer available for sale anywhere and it is not on Steam, but a search on Big Fish still shows it available for purchase there. Not sure what that means or even why I'm sharing this info but thought it might interest somebody. The post is over a year old.

I decided to start the game today and am still in Episode 1 but I am enjoying it quite a bit so far.

Edit: Wouldn't you know. I am back in the game but all of a sudden the text at the top of the screen is starting to go away too fast before I can read it. Argh!

2nd Edit: Just finished Episode 1. So far, I'm not noticing anything bad about the music during the puzzles or at any other time.

I appreciate the info, oldbroad. I have noticed in the past that when a game has gotten removed from different websites, such as Nancy Drew: Random of the Seven Ships, it hangs around on Big Fish for a while longer than some other sites, but it does get removed after a while. Good to know, and anyone wanting it from Big Fish I would recommend purchasing it now just to be on the safe side.

I have the game in my Purchase History but haven't played it yet.
