I currently am playing the Bonus Game in The Swan Princess and the Dire Tree. The Swan Princess was a long game with some of the most finely-done artwork and graphics I've encountered in the series. I do have a quibble with Swan in that one puzzle near the end of the game had a glitch that did not let me finish it. I looked up the solution and I had the correct configuration. Just to be sure, I replayed the puzzle. Still no solve. Whatever it was, I had to Skip the puzzle to move along.
Anyway, the Bonus Game for Swan is no throwaway, itself, but is equally as well done as the base game and is lasting a while! This is one CE that definitely is worth the extra cost. I always enjoy these DP games and have played 16, with only four being just "so-so" in appeal. Some of the earlier games in the series relied a bit too much on repetitious HO scenes, but they quickly moved on from that by expanding their plots and mini-games.
I tend to space out these games, so I don't get bored with their format. Also, the fine detail in the HO scenes can make it terribly hard for these old eyes to find the goodies. Nevertheless, I will look for Portrait when I'm finished with Swan. Thanks, Marian.
