my white wolf of icicle creeek saves are popping up like legend of crystal skull, my saves for nancy drew 18 and 19 do not work for nancy drew games, should i uninstall and reinstall nancy drew central.

There are a couple of support pages about Nancy Drew Central at HerInteractive. It looks like they stopped including Nancy Drew Central with games starting with Alibi in Ashes (#25) because it was causing issues -- for example causing errors if you installed an earlier game after a later one.

I'd recommend uninstalling Nancy Drew Central and creating your own desktop shortcuts pointing to the game .exes of the individual games.

However if you want to reinstall Nancy Drew Central, they say to install it from the game disc of the most recent game you have for titles from #16 (White Wolf) through #24 (Captive Curse).

i did and my game saves i get here or from her support are not working great or at all, when i click on save for fox and geese game done legend of crystal skulll comes up, catching egg legend of crystal skull comes up, a save for the drums in nancy drew 19 does not work, nor a fix for something in nancy drew 18, i could not back up, gave me a download it work, but not now, i am running a virus scan.

If you are opening the save through the game's save game menu, and a completely different game opens, you might have a registry problem.

If you are trying to open the save by double-clicking the save (.sav file) in Windows Explorer, that's not how you open a save file. You may get the wrong program trying to open the file or nothing at all may happen or Windows may ask what program to use to open the save. If you tell Windows to use a particular game to open that save, you may have Windows trying to open ALL save files that you double-click on in Explorer with that particular game (though if you open the game and choose the save through the save menu they should open properly).

Whenever you get a save from somewhere, you're supposed to drag it or copy/paste it to the save folder where that particular game puts its saves. If the save is not in the game's save folder, the game won't see it and you won't see the save in the game's save menu. If the save is in the form of a .zip or .rar file, you should unzip it before putting it in the save folder. Let us know if you're having trouble finding the save folders for the games. They are often hard to find.

If these are saves that used to work for you and don't anymore, and they are in the save folder with the games' other saves, it sounds like you may have a registry problem. I'm not sure how to fix that other than by uninstalling all your Nancy Drew games and then running a registry cleaner. But make sure you're opening the saves properly first (starting the game and loading the save through the game's save menu).

When a game won't reinstall, it usually mean the uninstall left junk in your registry.
Do you have a registry cleaner you can use?

I've only used ccleaner to clean the registry, not for any other type of "cleaning" that the current version can do.

Some people like to use REVO Uninstaller instead of a registry cleaner, but I've never used REVO myself.
