For the first time ever I was taking the family on the road. We stayed with my in-laws, which on life's list of experiences ranks right below sitting in a tub full of scissors. ~ Jeff Foxworthy ~

If you are interested in switching careers—and you can't get a job coaching college football or basketball—your best bet may be to find one as a retail salesperson. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, that was the most common job in the U.S. as of May 2018!

27. The 50-star American flag was designed by a student who was given a B- on the design.

In 1958, Robert G. Heft was a 17-year-old high school student in Lancaster, Ohio, who designed a new 50-star American flag as a part of a history project. While his work only earned him a B- from his teacher, it was impressive enough to be chosen as the updated version of the country's national flag. Fortunately, this resulted in Heft's grade being changed to an A.

50 Amazing Facts You Haven’t Heard 50 Times Before

1. Fact: It would take 1.2 million mosquitoes to drain an adult human of blood

If each mosquito only sucked once, there would have to be more than 1million of the little pests to get all of the blood out of a person. And yes: mosquitoes suck, they don't bite. Here's why certain people attract mosquitoes more than others.

2. Fact: Spain is the second most-visited country in the world

6. Fact: South Sudan is the youngest country in the world

7. Fact: Iran is the oldest country in the world

Iran has been a sovereign nation since 3200 BCE, making it the world's oldest. It is home to two very early civilizations: Elam and Jiroft. It's also one of the countries that have banned McDonald's.

Mmm, I'd sure like to have a big Mac and fries right about now. burger

8. Fact: September 9 is the most common birthday

WELCOME TO THE WEEKEND!!! santadance

I have no plans. Don't need anything. Don't need to go anywhere. I'll most likely spend Saturday much the same as Friday, exercising and cleaning, sleeping, watching TV...etc. thumbsup12

I didn't leave the house Friday except to get my mail. Missy has a broken nail, which I tried to get trimmed yesterday, but she screamed bloody murder and tried to bite them, and the people at the salon gave up. She's not very active today, which is why I didn't take her walking. frown12

As for me, I walked 3.5 miles on my treadmill with the 20lb vest, after I did a bunch of other exercising. wink12

More of the same Saturday, but there are also 3 NFL games to watch on Saturday. bravo12

Have a happy day everyone. presents12

Joe, missy will need to go to the vet to have it taken care of. The nerve is in the nail and it's extremely painful for them. They sometimes have to knock them out to cut it. I have had to take clients and my own Shadow to the vet for that. In the meantime, please wrap it lightly. I hope she feels better quick.

SpaceQ, are you coming out from under the blankie yet? hearts

soot, are you picking up L4L this weekend? I hope you can find some time for fun too!

Lots to do today for the holidays, but it'll get there little by little! Have a happy day all!

Thanks soot and Gerry.

Not yet Ana. I think the fever part is over but the congestion and coughing just won't go away. Hopefully a couple of more days and it will pass.

Poor Missy! cry BET's right. Broken nail can be dangerous. Hope she'll feel better soon.
Soot, when I lament about things changing, makes me think of what my folks must have felt when they were my age which would have been during the 1980s after music had changed from big band to rock and clothes styles began to show more skin than ever before.
Nothing special going on; happy the weather is still mild. Around here winter will probably start showing its true colors (snow, sleet, ice) after first of the year.
