i bought Down Home with the Neelys: A Southern Family Cookbook, and Trisha's Table: My Feel-Good Favorites for a Balanced Life: A Cookbook and Farmhouse Rules: Simple, Seasonal Meals for the Whole Family and Paula Deen's Southern Baking: 125 Favorite Recipes from My Savannah Kitchen (Hardcover), they were very too much money, cost me $129.00, so i calling and returning them, they lost 1 customer, we are looking for them in marietta bookstores for less money. cool wave blackkitty catrub lab : puppy kitty cat penguin dragon burger wavegirl santadance reindeer

They didn't force you to pay that. They don't raise the prices on books, they are what the publisher makes them. You can find them as e-books or used for cheap.

Did you order online? You mean they didn’t state the price? That’s hard to believe. Looks like you ordered without checking the prices, or perhaps shipping charges? Other than shipping charges, not likely to be cheaper in the store, unless you have a bookstore that discounts publishers pricing or sells used books.

That's pretty normal pricing for those books. And it isn't Barnes and Noble who set the prices, but rather the publishers. Not the bookstore's fault at all... that's what those books cost in hard copy. If there were no prices on them, you could have asked someone who worked there to tell you.

The prices are inside the books, usually on the dust jacket. If there was no price, why didn’t you ask? Hope you have good luck elsewhere. Just don’t expect to find exactly the same at discount or used book stores.

Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite book stores, I've never picked up a book there that did not have the price on the inside or outside of the dust cover, I find the idea that none of these books have a price on them impossible!

Please don't blame Barnes and Noble, you should have asked before buying, I've always found the staff very helpful and friendly.

So...are you saying because they are divorced or no longer have a show they don't deserve to earn a living? Who doesn't need money? If I can't afford something I want, I either don't get it, save up and get it when I can, or look for an alternative.

I’ll be blunt. If something costs more than you’re willing to pay, it’s not the fault of the seller. You have the choice to not buy it. Cookbooks are nice to have, but not a necessity. Look for cookbooks that are more in your price range. It’s really not fair to blame the bookstore, the author, or the publisher because you don’t want to pay what the book costs.

if you bought all those books at once then thats probably why you paid that much. like everyone has said its not bookstores fault and if there isn't a proce on a book then find someone to check the price for you.

Wow... trying to blame the cost of a cookbook on the circumstances of people is no excuse. Cookbooks bearing the name of a celebrity are very expensive and their personal lives are not important and really none of our business. I've gotten rid of most of my cookbooks because I can find any recipes I need on-line.

But I'm glad you understand, family, that it was not the fault of Barnes and Noble or the publishers of the cookbooks or the personal lives of the authors... it was your fault for not asking the prices if you didn't see them.

You should be able to see the prices when they scan the items at the register, not to mention you’re given the total before you pay, That would have been the time to say, “I don’t want these after all.”

That being said, I’m glad you found what you wanted elsewhere for a better price.

Have a Merry Christmas. 🌲

I know... all the swiping of cards? I look at my hamburger package and it's $4.00 and my tomato sauce is $2.00 I don't need to swipe anything to know what the price is. But, so glad you found all of them cheaper! I don't use cookbooks any more as I can look any recipe on-line now. Have fun with your new cookbooks and make some yummy recipes for the holidays!
