With the quarantines, shelter in place orders and other restrictions, I thought it'd be fun to see what you all are playing! Old or new, any genre, please share what you are currently playing.

I just started :Longing: but will pick something else out to complement it shortly.

And please stay well. Positive thoughts to all! hearts

I hope you enjoy your gaming time, Ana. smile

I am playing a time management game right now.

Next up will be a replay of Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness and then King's Quest 8: Mask of Eternity. That should keep me busy for quite a while! wave

I'm replaying Culpa Innata. I plan to start Diamonds in the Rough soon and probably something else but I can't decide what. When I don't really feel like thinking, I am playing Matchventures (a Match 3 game which I already finished but it lets you keep playing) or the Windows 10 free Solitaire or Sudoko.

I may go with Culpa Innata, too.

I need nondepressing suggestions for replays during this parlous time.

My suggestion is some Carol Reed games. Whenever I replay one, I am struck by how often Mikael can fool me with the same misdirection.

Stay safe.

I am playing a few to review, including the Longing, but I might have to join you Chief when you get to Riven.
It so cemented my love of the genre and its been a while since I played.
Regards to you all wave

I have just finished :Longing: smile It took a little bit more than two months (instead of 400 days), but with a lot of breaks, of course.
I will probably replay some of the good old Carol Reed games now!

Good health to everyone, take care!

AND I've had Noctropolis installed forever !! lol because it's another I play in snatches now and then.

Take good care, everyone !!!! flowers

I'm currently playing State of Mind and am not sure what to make of it. Hopefully as I progress it will start to make sense and engage my attention.

Prior to State of Mind I replayed Tesla Effect, which probably accounts for my lack of enthusiasm for the former, as Tex Murphy games are my first love and always enjoyable to play.

Best wishes to everyone for continued health in these trying times.

Winx - I played State of Mind all the way through and still wasn't sure what to make of it. There were things I liked about it but I don't really know if I actually liked or disliked the game.

revco - are you playing Lost from the disc? What operating system? I have the game but never tried playing it.

Thanks oldbroad, for mentioning Cullpa Innata. I have it on CD from many years ago but wasn't aware that it can still be played...I saw that Steam may have it.

I'm just about finished with Night of the Rabbit, which has been enjoyable with some fine voice acting.

I point, therefore I click.

Currently playing Isoland. This two-part game has unique graphics and lots of intriguing puzzles. Very similar to the Rusty Lake series. Really enjoying it!

Just finished Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper & now I just finished downloading the 5 Dana Knightstone games from BF & I'll play them in order, that should keep me going for awhile. I should have mentioned that I'm replaying them, didn't buy anything.

I'm about half way through a replay of Drawn: The Painted Tower. I will probably replay the whole trilogy. This is at least the 4th time I've replayed the series.

I was thinking about downloading and re-playing the Drawn series too. It's been quite a few years, so it should be like the first time considering my memory!

Good luck Winfrey! I hear it's a hard game! Well, Discworld anyway?? Do you have the version from allvideo?

I am near the end of Culpa Innata. Still did not start Diamonds in the Rough. I soon will though. I did start The Suicide of Rachel Foster and played/playing some casual games too. I've got a replay of Rhiannon in mind for after I finish Culpa Innata.

Disc world Noir is a great game. I love it dance

Quite different to the first two Discworlds because of its darker storyline but still with plenty of fiendish puzzles to solve evil

Just started Visage. Not sure what I'm supposed to be doing as I wonder from room to room, apart from collecting lighters and candles, and turning lights on to avoid brain damage (in the game of course).

Made a mistake buying Borderlands 2 as I thought it was a new Telltale follow-up. Should have bought Wolf Amongst Us 2. Got my money back from Steam though.

Finished "State of Mind" today and must admit I ended up enjoying the game a lot. Good story, interesting graphics, and loved the offhand reference to William Gibson's Neuromancer, one of my favourite books.

Felt like lighter games while on lockdown. Did Monkey Islands, now on 3 Ankh games. Think the Jack Keanes will be next, then probably Book of Unwritten Tales. Trying hard to keep busy with games to prevent me from keeping busy with housework. wink

I finally finished Culpa Innata, thankfully. I also finished The Suicide of Rachel foster which I did not like very much. I didn't mind the story line; I just didn't like the way the game played and the audio did not work right for me.

I am playing Diamonds in the Rough which I think could have been a good game but it just doesn't give you (me anyway) enough to go on. I am mostly using the walkthrough to play. I can only get so far on my own and then I'm stuck again. I'm also playing Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure which is good so far. And, of course, some casual games.

Still trying to start my replay of Rhiannon. Soon. Very soon!

I really liked Culpa Innata, oldbroad. I played the uncensored version. What did you think?

That was my second time playing Culpa Innata, the first time from the disc and this time from Steam. If it was "uncensored" I didn't notice anything different, though it was a very long time ago when I first played it. I think the game was alright but I'm sure I didn't like it as much as others seemed to.

You have to download this patch from Steam in order to get the uncensored version.

The patch notes include an explanation of what is different with the uncut version:

Quote
Differences between Cut and Uncut version

1. Additional scenes such as a somewhat explicit dream scene involving one of the incidents in the game and some additional context in the ending.

2. Captions for all dialogue, even the one-liners Phoenix says from time to time. The options menu enables you to switch these off if you wish.

Sorry you didn't care for it, oldbroad. I was one of the beta testers and thought it was great. I don't know what was cut out except the sex scenes, but I was really hoping the sequel would get finished.

Thanks Marian. I know I read about that version somewhere, sometime, and was pretty sure it was not what I have. I did not download a patch.

Ana, it's not that I didn't care for it but there are certainly other games I liked a lot more. I had hoped the second game would come out too as I had thought that one sounded like it would be better. I also ended up buying the book that came out but still have not read it.

I have something like 500+ old games that I never had the time to play while I was working, but now I have retired, I can start playing them.

It is a delight to play the old games for the first time.

I agree barbarosso. I am also playing a lot of old games for the first time, while trying to mix some new ones in there too.

The pleasure gained from playing (and re-playing in my case) good oldies is brilliant !!

I, like many here at Gameboomers, have a considerable collection that covers many years and LOTS of happy times

I have mostly been enjoying my replay of Rhiannon, though there is a lot of looking at the same things over and over. I'm currently in the "3rd branch"

I have also recently started Limbo of the Lost for the first time playing and, so far, I am quite enjoying it.

Have a casual game going also and spending a lot of time in the Gameboomers "Garden" this year which is cutting into my adventuring lol.

Lately I replayed all three Longest Journey Dreamfall, loved to be able to play Dreamfall Chapter on the PS4, and being able to use the controller to play Dreamfall on the PC. “Whatever do you mean? I am awake!” Still love that line.

I am now replaying all three Agatha Christie, finishing Evil under the Sun before moving on with Murder on the Orient Express and And Then There Were None. Unfortunately that last one does not transfer to my large TV from the computer with an HDMI cable, which is annoying, as it is the game I really want to play. I think it is my all time favourite game.

I intend to replay Sinking Island, Gray Matter and Culpa Innata soon, and maybe the five Atlantis games, starting with The Lost World.

On the PS4 Pro I finished Observation which I enjoyed, I’m in the middle of Elea, gave up on Adr1ft because constantly looking for oxygen is doing my head in. Maybe I can find a trainer on the PC giving me infinite oxygen so I can enjoy it as an adventure.

On the PS4 Pro I still have to finish Life is Strange Before the Storm (4K), and play Life is Strange 2.

And of course I am playing the Last of Us Part 2 (4K). My dark side. There are so many accessibility settings you can set to automatic and to render you invisible to the enemies and make the game extremely easy to kill everything in your path, that it is really worth playing for the story and the beauty of it, even if you are not into shooting and killing games. It’s almost like a built in trainer, giving you the chance to enjoy the game more as a story and an adventure than a challenge.

I especially enjoyed the 4K game Detroit Become Human, I am playing it a second time making different choices, and will play L.A. Noire soon in 4K. I still have to finish Beyond: Two Souls, and start Heavy Rain. Once Kona is cheaper on the PS4, I’ll give it a go.

I did not play for years, but these days I feel nostalgic, and I feel guilty for not working on my other projects (finishing writing an important book). It’s a real problem for me, guilt. Now I know the full meaning of guilty pleasure. Playing the first two Agatha Christie is like going on holiday in South Devon. I don’t live very far from there in real life, hopefully I’ll be able to visit again soon.

I’m thinking I need to play again Starship Titanic, and try Titanic: Adventure Out of Time. On GOG lately I bought all the series of Sherlock Holmes, Secret Files, Lost Horizon, Still Life, Syberia, Gabriel Knight and Phantasmagoria, Lighthouse The Dark Being, Moment of Silence, Overclocked, The Black Mirror, etc., so might be playing those soon. I only realised afterwards I had most of these games on CDs and DVDs that I bought long ago, but at least I know now I won’t have problems playing them.

Sounds like you have a lot of fun in your future rmt!

After I finished Rhiannon and Limbo of the Lost, I finished Conspiracies which I had started 4 years ago. I had gotten stuck and couldn't move on but finally was able to. I am trying to finish up Chronicles of Mystery: The Tree of Life now.

I played Kaptain Brawe: A Brawe New World earlier this year and have Episode II waiting to be played. I also played Samorost 2 the other night so will hopefully play Samorost 3 soon. I have a lot of games swimming around in my head that I want to play or replay and many of them are installed and waiting. I have 96 Mill, Dark Fall: Ghost Vigil, Schizm, and Ghost of a Tale waiting on my Windows 10 computer and many, many, on my Windows 7 that I've been trying to get to such as Grim Fandango, 7th Guest, and the Atlantis games. Also been trying to get to Nancy Drew #20 and a replay of Carol Reed #8.

So many games; so many games! wave

Currently playing Blacksad: Under the Skin. It's ok. I like the noir detective style, pretty graphics, and voice-acting is good. But I'm playing on pc with no controller, and the keyboard controls are awful. thumbsdown I thought the idea of the anthropomorphized animals would be weird, but it bothers me less than I thought it would. Story so far is pretty basic, but intriguing. I do enjoy the music. Overall, it's ok so far. After this, I think it's between Book of Unwritten Tales (which I've never played), or Truberbrook, or The Raven. Decisions, decisions.... grin

I forgot to mention I finally played Nancy Drew Midnight in Salem, and I really liked it. Made me wish to replay all the Nancy Drew games from the start.

It’s nice to know the pandemic had a similar effect on many of us, drawing us back to the old adventures we truly love most.

I've been thinking about replaying the first couple of Nancy Drew games myself. I never made it through the series yet with first plays though so I'm not sure I want to start replaying them. I did end up buying Midnight in Salem at the Steam sale.

Tristy, thanks for that info on Blacksaad. I haven't bought it yet. I want it at a better discount because I don't feel sure I will like it that much. I really liked The Raven.

oldbroad,

Yes honestly I was worried about that too. I waited for it to be half price, and I used a Steam gift card. If you like an old school, noir, whodunnit detective story, you'll probably like the storyline. I was initially weirded out by the animals as humans, but they mostly just seem like people. Great music, great voice acting. If you have a controller to use, I'd recommend it. The game does say that it how it is best played, and they are probably right. There are some fighting sequences (which I hate that kind of thing), but luckily they are not too difficult at all, and the game makes you try again if you lose. Most conversation options are timed, which I also dislike, but there is a fair amount of time to read through responses before deciding what to say. Gameplay itself is fairly easy. We'll see what I think of the whole thing by the end of it. smile

Thanks for further information on the game Tristy. I do not have a controller, don't like fighting sequences too much, don't like timed stuff too much, and don't really like a lot of conversation. I had watched a playthrough portion of the game one time and it seemed like non-stop talking, which I found rather boring. I know that if I bought the game right now, I wouldn't play it right now, so might as well keep holding out for an even better discount or until I decide I'm ready to play it OR decide I really don't want the game at all wink.

Yeah I definitely get that. I love the feel of the game, and the general storyline. I just wish the gameplay mechanics were all different, haha! I actually do enjoy dialogue-heavy games though. And yes it is dialogue heavy.

I've been playing a lot of old BF games from my purchase history & I decided to give them a rest for awhile. A long time ago I bought two games from GOG that were on sale but never played them, so I decided to give them a try. I just finished Shivers, it was a very good game but not easy, I started it over three times, now I'm playing Return to Krondor & I really like it, I've been at it for two days now.
