“If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?” – Abraham Lincoln ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why did the M&M go to school? It wanted to be a Smartie.~~ Why do bees have sticky hair? Because they use honeycombs.~~ How does a rabbi make his coffee? Hebrews it.~~ I got my daughter a fridge for her birthday. ~~ Why can’t male ants sink? They’re buoy-ant.~~ Hey everybody how's it going today. This is the first of July, woo hoo! Working our way through the hot months. Oh yeah. That's the first diner of July. Soot the fireworks last night were so bad, some of them were so loud they vibrated my bed, and scared the poo out of me. Needless to say Missy was deep under the covers. Today I pulled out everything under my kitchen sink. to clean it, and I wanted to either paint it or put some flooring over it. Well when I pulled everything out I discovered a leaky faucet. I took the faucet apart and discovered o-rings that needed replacing, so I went to Lowe's and got some replacements and put them on and put it back together. Then I cleaned it and installed some flooring under the cabinet and put everything back. I may not resume my outdoor projects until October or November. Being very optimistic that covid 19 is not going to get me. Have a great week everyone and stay safe, please. joe

Joe, lucky that you found the leak and were able to fix it! Way to go! We've been in a heat wave here too. I don't mind a bit except no one wants to do anything with me outside. Have a great week all! I'm enjoying my two kitty boarders and weimaraner pup. It's been a full weekend! Ana

Joe, why did the pilgrims' pants always fall down? Well done on finding the leak!! Seems like more and more "large" fireworks are sold over the counter now. Delaying projects until October-November is a very good decision. The Oxen are slow but the Earth is patient. Family, enjoy your shows. Ana, have fun with your boarders! TaintedFury ... hope your day was one of rest and recuperation ... yes, I look forward to the day when we the virus situation is behind us Gerry ... it's great to see you I'll have a tall dark roast please! L4L Have a delightful day Joe Ana Family SpaceQuestFan Gerry Connie L4L manXman ButterFlyBabe Trail_Mystic Mary TaintedFury and anyone else who pops in to say hi

Soot why did the pilgrims pants fall down? Because they were full of Plymouth Rocks? Did you finish your garage project? Good morning everyboomie. I think it's still morning. We are very overcast outside, with some rumbling going on. We may just get some rain today and tomorrow. After my coffee I took Missy parking. The rest of my day is open. Actually I really need to catch up on some housekeeping. I also really need to get back into my exercising. It's been a couple of weeks. Connie thanks for going through the time to put out a great spread for us while you are in Cape Coral. Enjoy your time there. Gerry it's good to see you always. Ana I love the pics you post. You have some adorable pets to care for, and they are lucky to have you caring for them . TaintedFury how is your hand? How is your tummy? I hope you're on the mend from all of that. Have a super day Soot, Ana, Family, SpaceQuestFan, Gerry, Connie, L4L, ManXman, ButterFlyBabe, Trail_Mystic, Mary, TaintedFury, MaG and everyone. joe

Back from my walk/run/jalk It was hot but not horrible. We have rain in the forecast for the next week, but I finished before it found me. The garage project is 1/2 finished. A 20 yard construction dumpster is full. Now we need to mail boxes to kids who no longer live with us and get shelves up so we can better organize what we actually want in our garage. Also Soot has to pare down his memorabilia...I was ruthless, so 99% of mine is gone. But that is a project that will take awhile. We can at least walk in our garage now, so progress has been made. I'm going to start a new mystery with my sister after lunch, so time to go find food. Ya'll have a great day

Butterflybabe, I feel ya. I want to live somewhere the temps are between 60 and 70 and the humidity is never above 25%.

Wonderful Wednesday ya'll No run for me yet as I have to take Soot to the vet this morning. I don't like to run on an empty tummy, so by the time I got breakfasted, there is not enough time to get my run in and get cleaned up. So I'll go when I get back, if it's not raining. It will be 9th circle of hell out there by then, but puppy has to come first. He is still upchucking on a regular basis, but thankfully, no blood. If I survive the run, I hope to work on my deadbolt mystery for a bit before time to cook dinner. Have a great day ya'll

Hello everybody. I hope you're all well. I think I am, despite the gods conspiring to squash my spirit. I was in the middle of doing laundry yesterday when my washing machine died on me. The thing is 12 to 15 years old, I'm not even sure. I know we bought them for mom right after I went to work for Lowe's. Anyway I decided that my best option was to buy a new one. It's next to impossible to get repairmen for appliances . This is where the great conspiracy begins. I toodle on in to my friendly neighborhood Lowe's to see what they had in washing machines. It was a short trip. They have no washing machines. Zero....Zip.....Nada! They couldn't even say when they expected to receive any. I worked for Lowe's for 9 years and never once saw a time when they were completely out of washing machines. Covid 19. So I drove down town to the local independent furniture/appliance store. He didn't have many either, but at least he had a few. Everybody is running out of them. I had to pay more. This guy wouldn't even match Lowe's 10% veteran discount. Of course not. He had me over a barrel. I made the purchase for a nice Whirlpool, which they just delivered. Still haven't got to the good part. Last night I pulled the old washer out, turned the water off, disconnected the hoses. Everything I could to be ready for the new delivery. Fast forward to this morning and I'm getting out of bed. I put my feet on the floor, and the floor feels very cold.....and wet, and I can hear water running. My entire bedroom was under at least an inch of water, my bathroom and laundry room a good inch and a half deep. Water was pouring out of the wall behind the washing machine. I had to get a wrench and run out to the street and shut off my water. Collect my thoughts for a minute. Numeral uno get a plumber. I called a plumber and he was out here in like an hour or less. Number two, go to Lowe's and rent a carpet cleaner. Yep, did that and spent the rest of the day trying to vacuum all the water out of my bedroom carpet. I have a fan on it, but it's still pretty wet. I'm hoping most of it dries overnight and I don't have to pull the carpet out of there. What a day! If I had to find a silver lining, I say absolutely I am so happy the laundry room and my bedroom and bathroom are on a lower elevation than the rest of the house, so I had no water in my kitchen, living room, or the other two rooms. Also my bedroom carpet is missing about 10lbs of dog hair and bird down that it had been hiding from me, and is probably cleaner now than it has been for the last 4 years. It also forced me to do some cleaning that I probably would not have done for a while longer. Did y'all know the if you clean your house absolutely spotless, and not even a speck of dust can be found (I've never had anything that clean), that you will still have to clean it again most likely before you die? I didn't know that......being the dirty, lazy, procrastinating bachelor that I am. What can I say? So at 68 I'm still learning I'm sorry to say. No wait! I'm pretty tired now. Tomorrow before I take that carpet cleaner back I want to clean my living room carpet. Have a super day tomorrow everyone. joe Edit: Oh yeah, also I chipped a tooth while chewing on a nut cluster.

Hello everyone. I hope you're all enjoying a great weekend. Well my bedroom carpet is still wet, but it is drying out. I've had two fans and the ceiling fan blowing in there for over 50 hours. I'm getting there. I got all of my wet rugs washed yesterday, and all of the wet towels that I put down, and I washed my comforter and sheets yesterday too, so I broke that new washer in good. I cleaned my living room carpet yesterday morning. My ceiling fan was on, and my thermostat was set on 70, and I still had sweat pouring from me as if I was one of those wet towels. That's how bad the humidity is right now. I walk outside and my glasses fog over. It's all clean and dry though, and I'm sleeping like a baby. We are in the 100s now for a while, so I expect to be in hibernation mode for a while. I'll take Missy for her walks. but other than that and buying groceries I don't expect to get out much at all. Connie have a safe trip home. Is it far? Soot those reorganization and cleanup projects are always a chore, but it sure feels better when they are done. Ana do you have any down time this weekend? I hope you're enjoying your little charges and not working too hard. TaintedFury I hope your doing well this weekend. Have a great day everyone. joe

Joe, I'm glad you got your house back to normal. I hope your heat wave breaks so you can enjoy at least part of the day outdoors. I have a regular Friday evening and Saturday late morning client now so I always work part of the weekend.
soot, Always! If I stay on track, I have tomorrow all to myself! Glad your garage project is getting there!
Hope your Saturday was great all!
