i been twice getting Access Violation and game has stop working, i uninstall and reinstall, run as administrator.

I don't think the Cake Mania games play on Windows 8 or 10 -- at least not reliably on all computers.
Big Fish does not sell the Cake Mania any more.

I found Cake Mania: Main Street at Steam, but they don't list any Windows later than Windows 7 as compatible.

If you have an older XP computer, try playing on that.
Didn't you buy an XP laptop? See if the game works on that.

i found Cake Mania: Main Street [Download], I downloaded the original Cake Mania onto a Windows 8 Tablet/Laptop from Amazon without any difficulty, so I'm going to say it will work. It will mess with the magnification of your computer a little bit, but you can change it back easily in the control panel of your computer.
EDIT: I downloaded this and it works great on windows 8. Just make sure you go to "options" and switch off the 3D setting, or it will run really slowly. on amazon.

You really shouldn't copy/paste someone else's post without saying it's a quote -- unless you are Elena, of course.

Did you notice Elena's post was from 2014 -- 6 years ago -- and many many Windows security updates ago? What worked 6 years ago won't necessarily work now.

If this version of the game you have is the version from Amazon, you can try to get your money back if the game doesn't work. However it does clearly state the game is for "Windows Vista, XP" in the description.

And Elena says it messes with the "magnification" of your computer? I'm not sure I'd trust anyone who says something like that.

So, you emailed them 6 years ago? I'm not sure what you are asking now. As Jenny has said, this game is not listed for Windows 8 and especially for Windows 8 that has had MANY updates and changes since then. Big Fish doesn't even sell it any more. Maybe it's time to move on to a game that actually works for you and just give this one up as too old for new computers? I have one which I really enjoy, but it doesn't work on my Windows 10. So I moved on to games that DO work.

Big Fish does not sell the game anymore because it removed all games (and there were a long list of them) from the publisher Sandlot for contractual reasons. They were all very good games and I was glad that I had most of them in my Purchase History already. Among these were a half dozen or so Cake Mania games that Big Fish had been selling. I have all of them and they all work perfectly on my Windows 7 computer. The only other OS I have run them on is Win XP. Haven't tried with Windows 10 yet.

I do remember plenty of people playing the games on Windows 8 when Big Fish was selling them and Big Fish still had their forums.
