am needing some gameboomer prayers big time. not sure if any one remembers 7 yrs ago was asking for prayers for a granddaughter that was diagnosed with severe heart problems and was sent to denver co. well 7 yrs later we are needing them again big time for her. am going to try and do a copy and paste from youngest daughters post off facebook. she has to be in kansas city on tuesday and will be there 2 - 7 days from waht daughter told me. we all knew this day would come but a person is never ready for it. here it is - We are gonna need all the prayers we can get. Things have not been going in Brooklyn’s favor the last few weeks. Had a routine check up with her cardiologist an found out her heart has weakened considerably in the last 8 months. Her heart function was around 40 but has dropped to 25. We will soon b heading to Kansas City for more test an to get the ball rolling to put her on the transplant list. She will b on the list but our goal is to find the right combination of meds that will help her heart improve. So please keep us in your thoughts a prayers as we go thru this hardship. Emotionally physically mentally financially this is gonna be a huge strain on our family. This is the scariest thing we’ve ever had to deal with. Thank you

thank you everyone . talked to daughter last night and she said they are going to do some test tuesday when they get to kansas city and will be working on some meds to see if they can get Brooklyn's heart (granddaughter) in better shape with some new meds. at this time they will be working to get her on the transplant list. Brooklyn called me last night and said she was scared that if she had a transplnat that she wouldn't wake up, i told her to think positive thoughts and that she would wake up.. just wish my health was in better shape so i could be with daughter and granddaughter thru all this but my traveling days are over

here is a update from daughter: Quick update: not much to update today. After frustrating morning with admissions we got checked in around 1 an it’s been nonstop drs ever since. I can’t even remember all of them. She has been seen by pulmonary, ob/gyn, lab, transplant cardiologist, several transplant coordinators. She has had X-ray of the chest an mouth, ct-scan of chest, ultrasound of stomach, echo, ekg, [blip] ton of lab. She hasn’t been able eat all day due to waiting for the ultrasound of stomach. So she finally was able to eat an was so excited to have a turkey sandwich. Evening is slowing down. They plan to do the right heart cath tomorrow an the rest of her test will follow. Thanks for all the love an support. We appreciate it more than ever.

Bless her heart! What an exhausting and scary day for an adult, much less a child.

i know ana, even though she is 22 yrs old is amazing on how well she is holding up. i sent daughter a text to see how brooklyn was doing and she said she is handling this all like a champ and was exhausted.this is todays update from daughter. Update: B went for breathing test first thing this morning. Pulmonologist came in an said her lungs are healthy. She has a little fluid on them but that’s to be expected with her heart condition. She then headed down for her heart cath. They tried to go thru her neck but wasn’t able to. There is something blocking that artery. They had to go thru her groin. She handled the procedure very well. The dr said considering everything going on her heart looked pretty good. She then ended up having an ultrasound on her neck to find out what’s going on. We r still waiting for results from heart cath an ultrasound. We have seen a social worker, psychiatrist, pharmacist, and a chaplain. Hoping tomorrow we know what the plan is as far as the transplant goes. Still hoping we can to some med adjustments to improve the function. But we do know that a transplant will happen at some point in her lifetime. We just don’t know if it’s necessary right now or if she’s strong enough to maintain for awhile. Hopefully we know more tomorrow. Will update as soon as we know. Thanks for all the prayers an support.

update for today .Update: we should be heading home within the next couple hours. She’s had another busy day. Stress test, labs, pelvic exam, an update on some vaccines. She does have a blood clot in her neck which is why they weren’t able to do her cath thru there yesterday. They said it looks likes it’s been there for awhile an they aren’t concerned about it. They think it will resolve on its own. The transplant team will meet on Tuesday an go over all her test an make a decision. They will choose one of the following: 1) accept- which means she needs a transplant now 2) defer- which means either needs more test or they want to monitor her as outpatient for awhile an see if the med changes help improve her function or 3) decline- which means something red flagged during the test which says she’s couldn’t handle a transplant/ or her heart is strong enough right now that she doesn’t need one right away. From speaking with several of the drs I believe they will chose to defer an monitor her as outpatient for now. They r hopeful that some of the new meds an med changes will help improve her function. This has been a very educational visit to say the least. I have more understanding of her heart condition an function. As soon as I know more I will update again. In the mean time thanks for all the love support an prayers. We will b home later tonight.
