Hi, I played this game a long, long time ago and I am back with it again. Lockdown syndrome LOL The graphics a brilliant . I am stuck though I am in the early part of the game with Hannah. Got off the first Island and I am in a dark cavern,I have been up the ladders to see where the light is shining from, then the WT tells me to head back to the entrance tunnel but before I get there turn right walk a while and I will receive a gift from a ghostly figure. Well no ghost has arrived and I have wondered around for a while. I seem to remember something like this . I am not sure if I will need this gift or not. Asking a lot I know . I have looked at several walkthroughs and the all receive this gift. Any ideas. Regards Maggsie

Hi maggsie, There's an old thread about Schizm here but I am not seeing the answer to your question, although apparently you were able to get past this point and ultimately finish the game. Maybe there will be something of use to you in that thread, though. Otherwise, let's wait for another player who might know about this part of the game, as not having played it I could only direct you to a written or video walkthrough.

Hi maggie,
probbaly not for your gift, because it happened to me in a later stage of the game, but still an important note (which I do not consider a hint, rather raising awareness to some game logic)
Be sure to explore the complete environment you have access to by using the same savefile when you are stuck. I had the problem that I was stuck in the game and I explored area 1 using savegame x, area 2 using savegame y and area 3 using savegame z. So even though I had explored all areas (without doing anything, I am just talking about walking everywhere), because I did not do that using the same savegame, the game logic did not realize that and so a specific scene where you get an item did not trigger.

Hi I am a bit further with this game and on to the telescope puzzle . It is driving me nuts . I have been through every WT with no luck even tried you tube. I know the sequence is different with each game . Does anyone know of ideas that could help me to count the Morse code flashes. Is there a knack to it. Regards Maggsie

Until another player comes along, my only other suggestion would be to take a look at a solve of it on a YouTube video walkthrough. I don't know which part of the walkthrough pertains to your problem, but hopefully you will be able to find it.

Congrats, maggsie. Schizm I is one of my favorite myst-like puzzle adventures ever. I think the puzzles are brilliant and really, really difficult. Schizm II is also good and worth playing, but not quite on the same level as Schizm I. I cannot wait for Schizm III, I got so excited when I heard it is being developed.
If you haven't played Obsidian yet, I really, really recommend that one as well. The puzzles are very, very good and the atmosphere is AMAZING. Off the top off my hat, Myst-series, Rhem-series, Schizm 1 and Obsidian are my favorites by far. There are many more very good ones, but, personally, for me , these 'four' stand out.
Edit: Omg. Out of an impulse I just rewatched the cutscene where you get 'pulled'/''sucked' in the realm of Obsidian (quite at the beginning of the game) on youtube. Even after almost 20 years, it sent shivers down my spine. Considering that technology/graphics were not that advanced back then, the scene is a masterpiece. I definitely will replay that game some time.
