The second day of a diet is always easier than the first. By the second day, you're off it. — ~Jackie Gleason~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A judge tells the defendant, “You’re charged with attacking your boss with a hammer.” “You jerk!” yells a voice from
the back of the courtroom. “You’re also charged with attacking a bartender with a hammer,”
says the judge. “Jerrrrkkkk!” bellows the same man. “Sir,” says the judge, “one more outburst, and I’ll charge you with contempt.” “I’m sorry, Your Honor,” says the man. “But I’ve been this jerk’s neighbor for ten years, and every time I asked to borrow a hammer, he said he didn’t have one.” ~~~~~ A scientist tells a pharmacist, “Give me some prepared tablets of acetylsalicylic acid.” “Do you mean aspirin?” asks the pharmacist. The scientist slaps his forehead. “That’s it!” he says. “I can never
remember the name.” ~~ “Has your son decided what
he wants to be when he grows up?”
I asked my friend. “He wants to be a garbage collector,”
he replied. “That’s an unusual ambition to have at such a young age.” “Not for him. He thinks that garbage collectors work only on Tuesdays.” ~~ My friend called me in hysterics. “I just saw a mouse in my kitchen!” she yelled. “I’m so grossed out! It’s
so disgusting!” “What are you going to do?”
I asked. “I’m not sure. But you can bet I’ll never eat the stuff I drop on the floor anymore.” ~~ Try as she might, our granddaughter couldn’t grasp the concept of potty training. Then one day … Success! Jumping up and down,
she threw her arms in the air
and yelled in excitement, “I went potty all by myself, and now I can
go to Harvard!” ~~ Jimmy Fallon asked his viewers to tweet #IGotBusted and share
the most embarrassing times they got caught. “I was on Facebook at work, and my boss walked up. I slammed down what I thought was my laptop screen, but it was actually my desktop
monitor.” “I lied and told my dad school
was canceled. He said, ‘Let’s go see
a movie.’ We got in the car, and he dropped me off at school.” “I was Facebooking in church, and the usher passed by and whispered, ‘You better be texting Jesus.’” ~~ The biggest change after having kids was putting a swear jar in the house. Whenever I say a bad word,
I have to put a dollar in the jar, and
at the end of every month, I take all that money and buy myself a nice steak for being such a cool dad. ~~ I spotted several pairs of men’s Levi’s at a garage sale. They were sizes 30, 31, and 32, but I was looking for size 33. So I asked the owner if he had a pair. He shook his head. “I’m still wearing the 33s,” he said. “Come back next year.” ~~ My cat just walked up to the paper shredder and said, “Teach me
everything you know.” ~~ Fifth Third Bank? I don’t think you understand how to number things, which is something I generally look for in a bank. ~~ General Mills
is coming out with an organic Twinkie. Isn’t that called a sponge? Jay Leno ~~ We need a 12-step group for compulsive talkers. They could call it On Anon Anon. Paula Poundstone ~~ I put so much more effort into naming my first Wi-Fi than my
first child. @1followernodad (Sophia Benoit) ~~ My ESL students try so hard and are so appreciative. One student paid me the ultimate compliment when she said, “You teach English good.” Another assured me, “I will always forget you.” And a third insisted, “I thank you from the heart of my bottom.” Ellen Israel, Alamo, California ~~ Hello my friends. Another diner bites the dust, as they say. My week went b ye about the same as the one before. I have breakfast and coffee, take Missy parking, come back and exercise....or just coming back and not exercising. I finish out my days with doing home chores, maybe a nap in there, and then gaming, TV, surfing the net, and then bed time. Multiply all of that by 7 and you'll see why I don't get too excited about coming here and sharing, and I apologize for that. Today I am enjoying some football. I really don't seem to even notice that there are no fans in the stands......or very few fans. The big positive now is that the weather is awesome. I may even run out to the sod farm soon to see what's happening. I hope you all have a fantastic week ahead. joe

Joe, as always, thanks so much for starting a new week! My days have been lather, rinse, repeat too, but with things I don't want to deal with. family, enjoy. connie, hope your day is a great one! Happy Monday all! It's a gray, rainy day here but not too much outside walks today so I don't mind. I will be picking up cat traps today to catch the 6 kittens and mama, thanks to a rescue that is helping. Please send positive thoughts I can catch them all!

Ana good luck with the kitties. I have some here I wish you could come and catch. Any time that I have an appointment that I have to prepare for or be at it's something that I don't want to deal with. Just don't care to have somewhere that I 'have to' be........in my retirement. I hope you can breeze through what you're dealing with. Soot I take it you're working from home today? Hoping your day is a breeze as well. My friend called me and asked if I could look after Beau for a few days, so they met us at the park and dropped Beau off. I'm now debating how to spend the rest of this awesome day. I know I've gotta exercise. There's also something that I enrolled in (a learning experience) which I need to carve an hour out of my busy schedule for. Later

Magnificent Monday ya'll Hubby and I headed out and got our flu shots first thing this morning. Then home to get breakfast. I took off for the park and had a great run. Then home to eat lunch. (noticing a trend here?) Now waiting on the dryer guy. Our dryer is protesting loudly, and son does sooooo much laundry, so this needs attention. Don't expect he'll have the part to fix it, but at least he can get it ordered. I have to make a decision for my little paladin in DnD...thinking thinking  Have a great day ya'll

So today I trapped mama cat and two of her 6 kitties. They are currently in my garage not exactly happy. Tomorrow we will try to get the remaining 4 kittens. My most favorite lady to hang out with that I meet at the off leash forest preserve every day after work so we can walk our dogs together asked me to marry her and her longtime partner today at the park. I had an hour to get the vows together, and prepare everything and met them at the park. Nugget was maid of honor, her dog was best man, one of my clients took video and hubby and client witnessed. It was pure awesomeness! Every day is a new adventure! Nighty night...I'm so far behind but need to get some rest. Ana

Ana, sounds like fun! I had a great run. Our weather is fantastic. Home to clean up and prepare to play DnD. But I don't think son slept last night as he was up early early, but was in bed by the time I got back from my run. So I'm heading outside to enjoy the weather and read. Ya'll have a great day!

Kitten #4 is caught and all have been delivered to the wildlife rehabber. Now hoping I can catch the remaining 2.
I won our towns heart healthy contest by taking 1st place walking 641,993 steps in the month of September. I was 28,000 today so I am well on my way for October!
It's been a long day and I'd say I'm happy it's Friday but I have a working weekend. Have a happy day all!

Good morning everybody. It's a beautiful morning down here in Okieville. Sunny and nice and cool. I still have Beau here visiting, but expect his mama to come pick him up today. Either that or I take him home. I've been trying to stay busy with little projects around the house..........like cleaning. I want to do some more major projects, mainly outside, but I'm not ready to start spending the money. Ana that is a hell of a lot of walking! Good for you! Good luck on catching the rest of the kitties. I'm doing good to get in 4,000 steps a day. Usually much less though I have to admit. Connie I'll have my usual biscuits and sausage gravy please, and thank you. L4L I'm glad you're having cool weather for your running. Soot we made it to the weekend. Almost time to unwind and relax. Have a super day everyone. joe
