I doubt you've played any game that used DRM like SecuROM or StarForce, or
similar DRM on the game disc. I don't know what this game uses, but I think
it was a custom DRM.

This is the problem with buying discs instead of downloads.
The downloads are guaranteed to work on current versions of Windows.
The disc versions are not.

I have a boxed copy of The Lost Crown and after I install the game, it runs without the disc in the drive.

I have installed The Lost Crown on Windows 10 with no problems. When you first start the game, it asks for the code, there is a box and you just enter the code.

Yes it runs without the disc in the drive AFTER the code has been input.

If you uninstall the game after installing the game and inputting the code on the same computer, I have no idea if it "remembers" that the code has been input or not.


Is that the 2008 version of the game or a more recent version?

Since you have Windows 10, and the game installs for you, what do you think
is the reason why deleterman's game is not installing and not putting up the
box to type in?

I really can't remember. If I had to guess I'd say it was the older version. I have since given the game to someone else as I never cared for it. I had many hours in the game and finally just got tired of trudging around! I can't imagine why he's not getting box to input the code.

EDIT: Although I no longer have the game, I did find my old saves on another drive and it looks like the last time I played it was in 2014, so who knows!
