Every field has its own set of abbreviations. They help keep space to a minimum. For example, a baseball coach uses P, C, 1B, 2B, SS, etc. for the various team positions. For each group below, identify each member and the group to which they all belong.

-1. BOT, MET, ZOO, PHY, CHE, ES, GEO, OCE
-2. VEN, CAM, SEQ, AVA, TUN, COR, TAC
-3. TMP, TWOK, TSFS, TVH, TFF, TUC, GEN
4. HHC (hand holding circle), TIO (tap it out), DIP, OW, B2B, DAP, SWH (Hint: Feet of Flames)
-5. OHP, TUT, FSQ, BB, WG, IBP, ROM
-6. OGP, DDO (double die obverse), SMS, RPM, AU, MS
-7. XOM, BAC, AAPL, PFE, GE, NOK, C
-8. TVM, CYA, WIIFM, FOFL, BBL, OIC, BTW
-9. YON, CC, LC, MB, HDC, CO, WS, RT
-10. CGI, EXT, POV, MOS, OS, BG, VO, SFX

That's a fun list but it's not mine. Also, I'm not sure that "alternate universe" fits in with computer lingo. grin
