RHEM III SE is now available DRM -free (Steam not required) on sale for circa $6 USD (can’t say exact price because it’s listed in Euros). The site is fireflowergames.com. This is totally legitimate as it is listed at the official Rhem site (rhem-game.com) as a source along with Steam.

I have loaded it and it seems perfectly stable. I prefer this to Steam since I like to play on different laptops. Incidentally, the minimum CPU is given as 2 gHz, but I’m finding no problem with my Win7 1.2 gHz 2g memory laptop that has all the other Rhem SE games on it. It is so great to have one of my favorite series that has stayed with such low system requirements after an upgrade.

FWIW, I would have been happy to pay 3 times this price. I can’t see how Knut Mueller can be rewarded very much for the work he has put into the SE games.
