Tyke, one of our previous mods, started these longer ago than I care to remember. Pub quiz night at the Bewildered Gardener - various trivia, some easy-peasy and some that might need Mr Google (after 24 hrs!) . Fill your glasses, open up another packet of pork scratchings, and off we go: -1. What order of mammals includes monkeys, apes and man? -2. Which city hosted the 1992 Olympics? -3. The Elgin marbles, now in the British Museum, were originally taken from which building? -4. The Crazy Horse Memorial is in which US state? -5. In the 1930s the American company Bally were foremost in developing which sort of recreation device? -6. Which UK patron saint does not have his flag as part of the Union Jack...? -7. ...and to even it up, how many versions of the US flag have there been...? -8. ... and just so Koala doesn't feel left out, what is the large star on the Australian flag known as? -9. In 1985, Greg Le Mond was the first non-European to win which annual sporting event? -10. What are the first names of the pop duo The Carpenters? -11. Name the musical instrument where the volume and pitch are controlled by moving the player's hands close to two metal antennae -12. Florence Nightingale achieved her fame during which war? -13. What religion celebrates Navaratri? -14. Laverbread is a Welsh delicacy made from what? -15. Who is the patron saint of travellers? -16. What does a galvanometer measure?
To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self. I wonder what's on television...?

A great selection of solves, and I love all the reminiscences! (apologies, flotsam! ) oldbroad - I now understand the line in The Who's Pinball Wizard: "I thought I was the Bally table king"
