Well, I'll ask about this one. Since the Diner closed, gymcandy1 hasn't posted. Is he doing okay as far as you know?

Was this a poster on GameBoomers? If so, do you mind my asking who it was?

I miss quite a few people from the older days when we all used to talk about the same RPG that we would all be playing in the Darkside forum.

Which makes me think of someone else who disappeared: oldman (John). He played adventure games as well as RPGs. Last posted in 2016. He had been a member for 16 years.

I was wondering about MacDee, we used too stay in touch by email, until the emails went unanswered. Does any one know how HanksDog is ? Just a few I can remember, memory is not as good as it used to be.

Connie, there is a thread here about Dee from 2017 that you can read here. You will need to scroll up to the top of the thread so that you can read it from the beginning. You will also see some old-time members that we don't see anymore who posted in that thread.

I also remember Hanksdog and have also wondered what happened to him.

I know hanksdog was fine for many years but I lost his contact info so I can't check up. It's on one of my old hard drives or backups.

Marian, it was Rowan.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Thanks so much for letting me know. When you described her, I was thinking maybe you were referring to Rowan. She too was Canadian. I once sent Rowan a boxed copy of Gothic because she was unable to find one locally. She was a lovely woman. I have definitely missed her absence too, and wondered how she was doing. It is good to have some closure and she will be fondly remembered.

Yes. Rowan and I sometimes played the same game at the same time.

Good to know that Joe (gymcandy1) is okay: was there any publishable story behind his rather sudden departure? smile

I'm so glad to see this thread. Was thinking of Sorta the other day. Don't remember any posting after her 'reportings' of things happening with the neighbor.

I could be wrong, but my guess is that some families don't know or care to be concerned about informing social media friends when a loved one can no longer post. Happened to me with a close friend of mine who died of brain cancer a few years ago. She kept in contact with her support group thru Facebook, and, last I knew, no one in her family posted of her death on the account. I didn't feel it was my place to do it.

Life's a puzzle; one piece at a time.
