The Plague Doctor of Wippra is scheduled for release early 2022.Check out the trailer here.Check out the game on Steam.Experience a working day as plague doctor Oswald Keller in medieval Germany. Make diagnoses and help your patients with medical prescriptions or surgery. Stand up against misbeliefs and deal with the ignorance of the people. It is not without danger, but it is the only way to find out the cause of the "Black Death". The Plague Doctor of Wippra is a short point-and-click adventure filled with medical puzzles, interisting characters, historical knowledge and a gripping story. Hand-drawn in beautiful pixel art, expect about 1,5 hours of narrative gameplay in a historical yet contemporary setting.
History Alexander started to work on the game during the 105#AdventureGameChallenge game jam. The theme was An Escape and Alexander decided to create an adventure about a young doctor escaping from an ignorant priest in the midst of the plague. After two weeks he submitted the game and released it as "Pest-Doctor of Wippra" on itch.io. The game jam version was pretty static - time was running out and so he skipped walking in scenes - but nonetheless he received very good reviews and the players liked the mood, storytelling and graphics. So Alexander decided to develop it into a full game. He is proud of the game jam version because for what it was it turned out great but he wouldn't recommend playing it anymore because it spoils the ending of the full game.
Features A moody medieval setting with believable characters Thick atmosphere and great storytelling Gorgeous, painterly low-res pixelart Dialogues which matters The feeling of a retro adventure with streamlined controls Contains no bad jokes Happy Gaming!
