If I had a nickel for every person who has posted about this problem since the game was released, I would have a sizable amount of money at this point. Worse, I still do not know if this is just a very tricky part of the game or if it is a genuine glitch.
Here is a post from a fellow GameBoomer from a few years back which might be of help here:
There are a few steps to work with the card (which is a Jack not a Joker, btw). Perhaps you are skipping one. After getting Wang's permission, scan both sides of the card. You will need to use gloves to handle it. After scanning, put the card back into its plastic sleeve and leave it on the desk to the left of Wang. After finding out your computer is in pieces, use Wang's computer to investigate the card. Good Luck.
