I combined two inventory items before I should have apparently, and now I need one of the parts and have no way to separate the items again. Does anybody know if separating them is an option? I can't find anything about this and really, really, don't want to replay from wherever I messed this up.

I looked into this and can't find any reference to it at all except for this which is about a different Deponia game altogether and may just be a joke.

Maybe another Deponia player will come along and be able to enlighten us about this. If this is indeed a deal-breaker, it seems like a really poor way of going about things.

What deponia game is it and what inventory? have you tried right clicking on the items. That usually works for other games.

Thanks for looking Marian. There may be a screwdriver in that game that would work, but there isn't anything in this game.

I had to look in the walkthrough to see that the combined item is used later. This is either a glitch or poor game design (or just oversight) that you can combine items too soon and then cannot separate them if needed. Unfortunately I have a good bit to replay and honestly, was not enjoying the game too much to begin with. I don't like the voice acting and I don't like listening to the same boring comments over and over, however, you know I cannot just drop the game . I don't know why I'm so pig-headed that way .

mbday630, it is the first game of the series, just titled Deponia, and yes, I have tried right clicking and using other items on it to try to separate. I tried using the item where I'm supposed to use the one part of it but it won't work while it is combined. Thanks.

I think for the most part that intending to finish what you start is admirable, but I would make an exception to the rule when it feels more like punishment than entertainment.
