Released in 2015 Frictional Games' SOMA was considered to be one of the best games ever developed. On sale now at Steam and GOG for $6 ending on May 9th. I'm sure many have played SOMA but if you have not now is your chance to play it at a very good price. Over 27,000 reviews on Steam have given Soma a Overwhelmingly Positive at 95%. On average 20 hrs of game play. Worth every dollar at full price. The only way to preview any game is to check out a Walkthrough . Take your pick. If you missed the freebie at Epic there is a Bundle offer by Steam including Amnesia : Rebirth for $10 ending may 16 Check out Specs: "Integrated Intel graphics are not supported. They should work (Intel HD 4000-series or better), but with issues". *********************** Willy Morgan and the Curse of Bone Town Demo on GOG . Steam has the Demo and the game on sale for $10 until May 9

A shame. I could so easily be tempted to buy them all again. But no doubt like many other folk I do already have the originals and later versions However, for first timers, these are games that definitely shouldn't be passed. Thanks orion

Hi Marian, I remember liking Rhiannon. Played it when it first released years ago. Good to see GOG got it out running on todays specs. I think another game they just released is Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals and it is also going for $1. I liked it as well. They just keep them coming slow but sure don't they.

"Daedalic is having another Publisher's sale. You can fine tune preferences. Just have to fine tune every time after returning to list. Check out bundles offered. I can only guess that anyone who had interest in these games have already played them. Most have some years on them. Anyhow here we go one last time"
I jumped on all the Daedalic games when they came out but surprisingly I have a lot of them that I never played. This year I have been trying to make my way through the Deponia games but it is a struggle. I don't like the characters, their voices, or their conversation much. I'm currently playing the second game Chaos on Deponia. I guess it is going better for me than the first game did but I go days without playing it so that when I do play, I can stomach it. I was planning on replaying Edna & Harvey soon but now I am afraid to in case I don't like it anymore either, though I think it is just the Deponia people - I hope.
Edit: Not a new game, but new to GOG: Sumatra: Fate of Yandi which might interest some people.

Hey oldbroad.....geeze every time I use your name I feel like I am CALLING you a "name" and I am gonna get smacked but I love it! Thanks for bringing up Sumatra . Have never heard of this one. I searched for an initial release date and found that 2019 IS the original release date. Could have fooled me I got more to say pertaining to Daedalic and their games but the wife and I are heading out for dinner. Aztecas de oro one of our favorites. I'll get back to this tomorrow

Orion, shaun9991 (GB member name) of Cloak and Dagger Games used to post here in the past and shared some free games with us. You can find a couple of them on Steam, along with Sumatra and some others. I have Sumatra from there but haven't played it yet. I did enjoy the free games that I played. They are currently developing Incantamentum, which you mentioned in one of your prior posts and Ana had announced in October.
That restaurant looks real good. I hope you enjoyed your meal.

Dinner was great as usual, thank you both I have played 5 games from Daedalic and enjoyed them all, my favorite being A New Beginning . I did try the first Deponia but like you had the same issues with the game. I lasted about 1 hour and quit never to go back INCANTAMENTUM , just from that short video, has my interest. I will download the demo later today and check it out. Sumatra too has my interest. It has 97% positive reviews. What is it about the "old school point and click" games that bring such interest. For me.....well it is how it all began years ago. Those were the days. This new kind of entertainment that just grabbed a hold of you. It is nice to kinda go back to those times playing games like these especially when they look / sound good I find it really nice that GB has developers that come here to post, really cool.......I think it shows you that they really care about those here interested in their works. The added info they sometimes provide is appreciated for sure. Shaun9991 offering free games......I mean you just don't see that. These are the developers you need to support Time for some breakfast.....I think 2 pieces of toast with All Fruit jelly, small OJ, small milk and one more cup coffee will work. Take care......

Hi Ob......I had wishlist overload . Getting those emails, "Items on your wishlist are now discounted" seemed to be a regular thing. I decided it was time to clean house especially when decent discounts were offered over and over and I did not purchase. Like you there are other recent games out there that draw an interest that I would rather play. Some of those wishlisted I deleted had been there for years. Good luck with your comparisons and if that does not seem to work out for you then BUY THEM ALL like you want
Have a nice day oldbroad

Hi Connie....Definitely check them out. Been going for several years now and have never had a complaint, nice atmosphere, good service and GREAT food. They just changed the looks of the menu. This new menu does not give the many choices justice. The menu before this new one really gave the food a WOW factor. They just built that one I linked in other post a couple years ago. We used another Aztecas before then and were really happy they built one 5 min from home. There are many locations to choose from. Get there! Make sure it is a D' ORO
and you are welcome!

Beltane -- $5 Stanley Parable -- $7 ends June 13 The Witness -- $10 ends June 13 Fabled Woods -- $4 ends June 16 Little Nightmares -- $ Depends ends June 13 Herald: An Interactive Period Drama - Book I & II -- $3. DEMO or DEMOMYST VR and Standard -- $21 Steam Reviews -- Very postive at 89% ULTIMATE WALKTHROUGH GUIDE (ALL ENDING, PAGES, PUZZLES, & CUTSCENES)In my opinion this rendition of Myst is the best one of the bunch developed. CYAN has taken every aspect of this love or hate production and have detailed the hell out of it. Whether you are on the island or in one of the ages you are treated to visuals that are amazing! I played the game in VR, put right on the island. Let me tell you that was the best experiences I have ever had having played MANY games. I loved being there. It reminded me of the time I played Myst when it first came out. The game was over but, like many back then, you wanted another book and kept looking for something to keep the experience going. I had one issue with the game and that was with the characters. That seemed to be an issue with many. They were animated and really took away from the game. Big mistake! Why they did not shoot live video is beyond me. Other then that....If you have not played this latest version at least check out the walkthrough I provided. Pause as you go to get a good look at the details if wanted EPIC Adventures on Sale

Sonya: The Great Adventure is actually a hidden object puzzle adventure game. It is a nice game, but I would not want someone buying it thinking that it was pure adventure. For that price, though, it is a good deal either way. Originally released on Big Fish here.

Hi Marian....Yes it is. So is Inbetween Land. Meant to show that but forgot on both. They looked real interesting so I threw them up there. They looked to be good adventures with an added twist The wife and I played the heck out of BF games for about 5+ yrs. Our favorite "Mystery Case Files". Loved the puzzles and the stories on all we played Thank you for making that clear. Have edited ********* Anyone who has not tried a Hidden Object Game should check out that Sonya Demo . It did not take too long for me to get addicted to the genre. Lot's a fun!

Thanks again Orion, I am downloading the Free "The Looker" looks interesting and I played the Witness (or 25 % of it, too much going in different directions and I get lost easily) but this game according to reviews is Shorter and it is a fan made parody of the Witness, looking forward to playing it.
Marian, I also watched Lost in Space as a kid, was good back then but when I watched the Re runs several years back, well, not quite as interesting, yet fun to watch anyway.

Well it looks like at least there are three of us that were fans of Lost in Space. The intro music brought back many memories. We, mom dad and my 2 brothers, had popcorn nights. There was Lost in Space, Outer Limits and the Star Treks running in the 60's. Me and my brothers would pillow up on the floor with our popcorn. Almost seems like yesterday. Any how really looking forward to the release next year Glad you found another game to download Starcom. Nothing like a free game you want to play. Like the name Starcom by the way. I too got about 25% into The Witness . Don't know why I stopped, really good game. The Steam 3000 Summer Sale has started, running to July 7. THOUSANDS of games on sale ! Gonna be some great discounts Here's one: Syberia: The World Before -- $25. NICE 42% discount on Deluxe Edition Bundle -- $32. Huge 69% discount on Syberia 20th Anniversary Bundle -- $30. Includes all 4 Syberia's. The only one missing here from Benoit Sokal, his first, is Amerzone for $0.54 . In my opinion this was a GREAT game and it started this Syberia adventure a ROLL'in More from Microids

Hi oldbroard, I played Adam's Venture Origins - Special Edition which included this DLC making the experience even better. I did not play Chronicles. According to the walkthrough links they appear to be 2 different adventures. Skimming through both walks I see where they have used the same integrated puzzles in certain areas changing the style of the puzzle a little. I really liked Origins. They are giving it away. If you likes Chronicles I believe you will like Origins. Check out the walks and decide ChroniclesOrigins

Hey oldbroad....Puzzles finished are pictured on bottom of screen. You can click on them to highlight them. The map also moves and takes you to it's position on map. The name of puzzle is listed on the map and the puzzle. You also have a "KEY" symbol, a green arrow and a magnifying glass. Tapping the "KEY " back and fourth takes you to the picture or some info about the puzzle. Tapping the green arrow will start the puzzle over. You do not want to do that. With the picture or info up you can hit the magnifying glass to bring the picture full screen. Tapping the green error here takes you back to the map and it's location so you can move on to the next puzzle. HERE is a Walkthrough overview on Glass Masquerade 2:

With the Steam Summer sale coming to an end tomorrow, July 7th @ 1pm US Eastern Time, I thought I would end my posting of the sale with something a little different, something I found fun to mess around with -- Pinball.....These are amazing. A different style of play from the old machines back in the day when Arcades were the place to hang out, meet friends and just have a good time. I sorta miss those days at times This is the Base Game you will need to run all the Add-ons: Pinball FX3 -- FREE DLCSome examples: Aliens vs Pinball -- $4 Star Wars Pinball: The Last Jedi -- $3 Portal -- $1 Carnivals and Legends -- $3 Medieval Pack -- $2 Sci-fi Pack -- $4 Jurassic World -- $5 FX3 Bethesda Pinball -- $4 Zen Studios Franchise -- Pinball add-ons Zen StudiosMore from Zen Studios: Infinite Minigolf -- $4...Standard / VR DLC -- FREE Have a nice day!

Well we have had to two nice summer sales back to back. I hope everyone got their fill one way or another, I grabbed a few. It doesn't get any better then having 2 huge sales one after another pretty much offering up everything they have. From here on if I see something with a decent discount, hopefully something on a fairly new release or has not been on sale I'll post it. Meantime if anyone finds a discount you want to let us know about please post it as well. OK.....well as Ana would say, "HAPPY GAMING" DISCOUNTED GAMES

I was also in a grabbing mood and bought 6 games for no less than about 22 Euro's! That's about 22 Dollars Have to adjust to the current situation (of my wallet ) Fortunately I don't own a car. The gas prices are through the roof here. A couple of the one's I bought: Thimbleweed park, The Painscreek Killings and Black Sails (Black Sales was 1 Euro! but,as it turned out, I could not save my progress .... ) well, Rob

Thimbleweed Park is one that I have played, Rob - it's a good one! Lucky you, not owning a car. I wish I could do the same. Have you checked out the Steam forum here about Black Sails not saving? There might be something useful there.

GOG got in a bunch of adventures game today, ones that I believe are all already on Steam. But if you would prefer no DRM, this is a great time to pick them up as they are all priced at less than a dollar until July 20th: Go here to see the list. The only one on the list that is not an adventure game (although Atlantis Evolution had some action sequences - GameBoomers has a review of it that you can read) is Curse: The Eye of Isis, which is an action adventure with combat but also puzzles.

Sinking Island didn't seem to be all that popular but I also liked it. I'm on my way now to GOG to check out the goods! I have but haven't played Curse: The Eye of Isis. I do not have Necronomicon: The Dawning of Darkness (yet). I have actually played the other five on the list believe it or not.

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any "hover" action going on there. If you hold your mouse over a listed game on the GOG page that Orion linked to, doesn't a small screen pop up with more info? I just tried it, and it works for me.

Yes. I have Crowns and Pawns, Shapik: The Moon Quest (which I thought I played but have not), The Panmorphia games, and the Reversion games but haven't played part 3 of that yet as I played the first 2 long ago and want to replay them first. I have Far: Lone Sails but not Changing Tides. All games in both posts unplayed except Reversion 1 & 2 .

Checking out that Amazon site all the way down to the bottom you will find "Play games on Amazon Luna, free with Prime". You can play the new MYST free until Aug 31. I did nothing but click on it and the game up to PLAY NOW . You can do 360's while a vid is playing. This is really nice and it is free until Sept 1, again for Prime members. Try it!
Thanks Ana

GOG just started a new sale today that runs until September 5th. Hercule Poirot: The First Cases is priced lower than Steam's price; you can find it here. For games that both stores have, I would definitely do some comparison shopping prior to purchase.

Thank you for Marian for mentioning that. Always a very wise idea to cross check other sites for a better deals. Does not happen to often but can especially when one site runs a big sale. I have added your link.

Good question oldbroad. After You states you cannot save when you want. It does not say whether you can save at all. Tempus makes no statement whether you can save or not. No info on either in their Discussions as well. Maybe a walkthrough After You WalkthroughTEMPUS Walkthrough

oldbroad ******* Remember to cross check Steam games listed with " The GOG Sale" running right now I'm guessing in preparation for the release of Return To Monkey Island Steam has the this Bundle on sale until the 28th. The only Monkey Island not on sale is Tales of Monkey Island: Complete Season. The Monkey Islands are not on sale at GOG, at least not yet Application Systems Sales ends 31 PLAT - Hourglass -- $8 ends 9/1 WIN 8+ - Alien AI -- $6 ends 9/1 HEAL -- $2 ends 9/2 Song of Horror Complete Edition -- $18 ends 9/3 Indie Arena Booth -- many DEMOS...Link preserved IAB for now. No longer accessible on Steam Have you checked out this Gamescom ending on the 28th? There are many "Coming Soons" with Demos here and there. Some deals. Live / Recorded Broadcasting. There is some good info here, some GREAT looking games! If you do nothing else to the 28th CHECK GAMESCOM OUT!!...It also looks like the link to Gamescom has preserved it for now as well. It too is no longer accessible

You can get the sci-fi game "The Dig" released in 1995 by Developer / Publisher LucasArts for FREE on Prime Gaming . Out of curiosity I downloaded it just to make sure it played on my Win 10. It ran just fine and looked very good. One of my favorites I have played it more then once. Reviews on both, Steam and GOG , are VERY positve. You have until Oct 2nd to grab it. You have to be a "Prime" member Walkthrough

I came across Voodoo Kid and thought it deserved posting. Released back in 1997 it was one of a kind at the time. Reviews from both Steam and GOG are VERY postive. Some calling it a nostalgic adventure, a gem, a blast from the past. Voodoo Kid can be completed in 1 to 2 hrs. "Very simple, short and sweet." The voice heard on the Steam video reminded me of Henry Stauf from the 7th Guest - $5 ends 19 WalkthroughThimbleweed Park - $ Depends ends 19...Check out the FREE "Mini- Adventure" (WIN 10) where you can "Sample a new adventure game engine by Ron Gilbert, who created Lucasfilm’s SCUMM engine and classic games Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island back in the day." The Trials - $0.79 ends 19 Night Reverie - $7 ends 20 Hazel Sky - $17 ends 20 Willy Morgan - $ 10 ends 20 WIN 10 - Little Orpheus - $11 ends 20 win 10 - SCP: Secret Files - $13 ends 20 Catie in Meowmeowland - $11 ends 21 WIN 10 - Wayward Strand - $18 ends 22 Whateverland - $18 ends 22 Darkside Detective - Series Edition - $ Depends ends 22 Chinatown Detective Agency - $17 ends 23 Little Misfortune - $5 ends 24 NORCO - $12 ends 25

Yeah It's back....Still no power. Went out Thurs morn 330am. Running off a gen. Finally hooked computer up. We had 50/60mph sustained winds with 100mph gusts. Was a long night. We were very lucky. The eye was tracked right over us but went 20/30 miles to the east instead so we avoided the worst of the storm. We had a lot of debris pickup and some in the area lost their fences
Thank you for the concerns. Hope your friend is ok...Hey oldbroad!

Hi Connie, was just over reading the breakroom. Glad you are ok. We always loose power when they come through. When Irma came through in 2017 it knocked our power out for 6 days. We had to stay at one of those nice Rosen Hotels on International Blvd offered for penny's on the dollar like he does when these come through. We lost $100's in food. I said never again even though the stay was very nice. Got a gen this time and it worked out just great. I have everything up and running. We have never had to boil water. What's up with that?? Just in certain areas depending?

I'm glad you are doing OK Orion. The boil water alert is because of several water main breaks. I can't believe we didn't lose power as we usually do. Yes, we also bought a generator after Charlie came thru.

I started this "Sales Thread" back in April. It started out light in the beginning and became a nice project for me, one I have enjoyed. I can only hope many have found games interested in and have had a good time playing them. Over the past 5 months I have learned a thing or two about game sales. For one Steam has these Folders saved allowing them to quickly change sales out weekly adding a "newly released" game here and there along with what I call an "off the wall" game, one I have not seen on sale before or heard of. Steam also has these "Special Promotions" they run for 2/3 days that start whenever they choose for what ever games they choose. Going through Steam's posts and my inventories twice a week I catch them from time to time posting them I am sure you have noticed some games getting posted by me number of times. The reason for this is the game has a better discount that I believe some are waiting for before purchasing or have passed on for now wanting to purchase at a later date. I have been removing some of these games from my Folders especially those that were released before 2020. I try to post newer games released going back to 2020 for the most part. When Steam discounts a "newly released" game they usually are the same games over and over for awhile and eventually get swapped. Steam does not like to give discounts on these newer games for awhile and that is understandable yet at the same time this puts a hold on one playing the game until a descent discount is offered I have compiled some Folders over the months giving me a larger search range instead of just looking through Steam's "Point & Click" and "Adventure" game sales which can consist of up to 2000+ games. The Folders I have created get added to pretty much on a weekly basis. These Folders consist of: Newly Released - 100 games. Most announced by Ana back going back to 2020 along others I have found searching Franchises (Developers/Publishers) - 70 - Some carrying 1 game and other as many as 30+. Sometimes a Franchise will put their entire lot up for sale and I"ll post it. For the most part I search for a game within the Franchise for a sale. Clicking on "Discounts" while in a Franchise clears games not on sale making it simple Bundles - 90 - Can be 2 games per bundle or or as many as 10+. I look for Bundle deals or games on sale within the Bundle. I'll check the Bundles on game pages as well to see what they offer and if there is some sort of deal I'll post it. Watch For- 129 games. Games with high ratings and nice discounts The time has come for me to trim back the amount of sale links I can post. I am going to be searching for games in my "Newly Released" Folder that covers games released back to 2020 that Ana has announced here on GB. I will be only posting these sales. These might be trimmed back as well depending on how many are on sale. I don't know yet. This weeks posting will tell. When on a game page you can check for more sales by clicking on the "Publisher" link top right or down below "System Requirements" where there is another link "More From This Publisher". Click on "See All". Here there is also a link "More Like This". Again click on "See All". Always check Bundles. You can go back to my first post for game sales as well. Now if you have some time you can run through all 'Steam Sales" . I would scan through that link looking for one of those "off the wall games" finding a few here and there worth posting . I have seen as many as 82,000 games listed here. As far as GOG, Humble and Epic go...I check them out as well and from time to time and have posted sales from them and will continue to look them over. These sites do not always get newer released games like Steam and don't have nearly the games Steam offers. That is why you have seen more Steam games posted then the other sites. I also believe those who only purchase from these sites have them covered very well. I have had a good time bringing discounted games to you and will continue to do so just not as involved. I am sure you will get those discounted games you need/want one way or the other having "Wishlisted" them along with your own searches. I will post "Newly Released" sales tomorrow, Tuesday

I am sure you have noticed that Steam is running NEXT FEST , a celebration of upcoming games running through Oct 10th. You can change Tags to your liking by clicking on "NARROW BY" in the "BROWSE DEMOS" box. I have them set to Adventure, Puzzle and Point & Click. I can't get this link to start at the top. Don't know why Blood Nova - Ana announced BN Wed. Right now there are 22 Reviews all . With a 15% off "Introductory Offer" BN is going for $10 ending 10th. For a better look check out this Walkthrough and flotsam's First Look
