Glad it worked out for you, TLC. Not sure why the other links did not work, but good that you kept trying! There are birthday messages for you in Mixed Bag from a while ago. Hope you had a nice birthday. smile

Just purchased Mystery Case Files, the Last Resort. Just a little ways into the game, and what do I get? "Runtime Error blah blah" and Crash.
Just sayin' 😬

I am so sorry, Tally Ho. I haven't seen anyone else having this issue on this forum, on the Big Fish Facebook fan group, or on another casual game discussion forum called Pond Friends. I wonder what's up?

I was able to get going; but only by skipping that particular puzzle. It's a weird puzzle, where you have to correct a sort of slider image by pushing the columns up or down, and sliding parts sideways. I rarely use a skip button, but was glad to have it this time.

I'm having a different problem. About a third of the way through, down in the mines, there's a door you open with a key so you can flip a switch. Each time I touch the switch, the game crashes. I've started over several times but keep running into the same issue. Uninstalling didn't help, either. I have seen it's an issue for others as well but haven't run across a fix. Any suggestions?

It's a shame this game has these issues. I hope they are fixed soon. I don't have this game yet but whenever I have run into a problem like this, I've had to restart the game and follow the guide step by step to the problem to get past it, as if maybe I've done something in a different order than what the game wants me to. Possibly that will help you Sherlock, if you're willing to try that.

Thanks, oldbroad. wave I ended up simply making a new profile and everything went smoothly after that, except for the game crashing again for no apparent reason.

Phew !!

I haven’t started this game yet so I’ll hang fire as I don’t want to experience such untoward flaws - and am hoping they will get fixed 😱😱😱

So - I did finish the game with no further 'accidents'. As an aside; I had to play it in a window. Full-screen mode flickered constantly. I believe this happens because I do not have a stand-alone video card; just the onboard processor. Flickering has happened with several newer games.

It would appear that the developers didn't select their beta testers carefully, and that the testers didn't really understand what a good test-playthrough involves. I've done that, and it's hard work.

Sherlock and Oldbroad - glad you also made it through!
