Good morning everyone.
Today was periodontal surgery day (gum grafts). I have to be on a liquid diet for two weeks, so I've loaded up on chocolate and vanilla protein powders, ice cream, and frozen berries. Might as well enjoy it! I've also got some greens powder. The only problem with smoothies is that you never really feel full.
Draclvr, Dude is by far the most playful cat I've ever had. I'm supposed to keep him quiet. Fat chance! Keeping him indoors for two weeks will be almost impossible. And of course Willow can't go out either because that would be no fair, and he'd make a dash for the door anyways. So I have two sets of disappointed eyes following me everywhere I go.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning everyone. Emergency rations of instant coffee and knäckebröd available in the break room. Hagatha: if you let the knäckebröd soak in instant coffee it becomes smoothie-ish after awhile. Tastes like coffee-porridge. Doesn't sound too yummy but I only provide emergency rations. Still morning here. Mr Fog is ruling the area and temperature is pleasant 17 degrees. Is expected to be warmer later. Happy Saturday Gameboomers!

Howdy folks, By now we should be into autumn here, but after a disappointing summer we are having a couple of the hottest days of the year so far (but cool by many standards at up to about 24 degrees C) before turning about 10 degrees colder next week: salad materials are therefore dwindling in the local shops! And here is the tune that has been stuck in our heads for a couple of days now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM7H0ooV_o8Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Good morning everyone. Wife's computer decided to 'not' wake up after a reboot yesterday morning. Looks like the power supply unit is the culprit...which I'll be replacing today. The coffee and bagels will help the R&R process. Hagatha, hope your procedure was smooth and quick. Lex, I was wondering what that tune was : ) Yes indeed OldBroad ... we spare no expense for our little furry ones. Draclvr, the margarita sounds marvelous. Fogfighter, the coffee soaked knäckebröd is a great idea. Have a great Saturday everyone.

Good morning everyone. Soot, the surgery was painless and efficient, but I had a rough night, possibly a reaction to the heavy antibiotics. My cheek is swollen like mumps, and I feel awful. I'm supposed to wear a plastic palate protector but it's so uncomfortable I took it out. The last time I had this surgery I went straight to work and didn't miss a beat. This getting old stuff is the pits. Fogfighter, I've been playing with the idea of breakfast soaked in coffee. I bought some pistachio-almond-chocolate nut butter a couple of days ago and it's calling me, but I can't eat it on bread. Maybe I'll just throw it into the blender with some ice cream. Or maybe it would be good blended into oatmeal.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Saturday morning! It's actually quite chilly outside! But it's sunny and a gorgeous early fallish day. Will be using the day to can pizza sauce today.
Oldbroad, my current cats are the most expensive I've ever had! Miss M has issues with crystals in her urine and has cost me TWO $600 vet visits. She is only 6 years old. Mama Kitty is only 7 and already in kidney failure. Not to mention the special food they all eat which costs an arm and a leg! She was a feral who showed up here pregnant. Now she is a house kitty. This ancient cat who is also in kidney failure because of her extremely advanced age hadn't seen a vet since she was spayed at about 5 months old.
I had a big margarita for you last night with my Carnitas! I only eat half of what I'm served at restaurants, so I have yummy leftovers for lunch today!
Once again, weeds are my life!

Good morning everyone. A few kits of instant coffee and knäckebröd are available in the break room. Hagatha: Hang in there, time flies and soon you'll be back to pistachio-almond-chocolate nut butter on bread. Meanwhile the blender sounds like a good friend. The possible combinations are endless. Over here warm late summer days, or is it warm autum days. Either way Mrs Sun is already shining this warm Sunday. But it will get colder, eventually. Winter is coming. Happy Sunday GameBoomers!

Good Sunday morning! REALLY chilly this morning! But supposed to be back in the 90's next week.
I hope you are feeling better after your gum graft, hagatha. I had a similar surgery a long time ago and after the first few days of being quite uncomfortable, it healed quickly. At least I didn't have to do a liquid diet for 2 weeks!!
Soot, is your wife's computer up and running again? Hopefully it was just the power supply!
Connie, your weather just doesn't give you any breaks!
Bottled up my first batch of fermented hot sauce yesterday. Making another one today were you roast the hot chilies in the oven with tomatoes, onions and seasonings. Waiting on my bright orange Fatalii peppers to ripen so I can make another hot sauce with that uses pears and lemon. My Colorado grandkids are clamoring for Grandma's hot sauces!
Home made pizza tonight with some of the new batch of pizza sauce!
Once again, weeds are my life!

Good morning all.
Draclvr, the surgery site isn't painful. I rarely need any kind of pain meds after any kind of surgery. I am, however, reacting to the Amoxicillin, which is making me nauseated and giving me insomnia. The liquid diet just won't work for me because I'm starving all the time, so I'm feeding myself oatmeal cooked in coconut milk to supplement my protein smoothies. Once you have oatmeal in coconut milk you'll never go back!
It's been overcast for days here, almost looks like rain is coming, but it's dry. It's been hot this week, but with my blinds drawn this house stays cool. I haven't had to use my air conditioning at all recently and I've only had it on a couple of times earlier this summer, which is great because the fan is very loud and distracting.
Anyway, it's another day indoors with an ice pack on my swollen face.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Monday morning everyone Ah.... enjoying a cup of Gerry's WADDB with a cinnamon crunch bagel from Connie. Yes Draclvr, the power supply was the culprit and her PC is back up and running ... we love homemade pizza too! Hagatha, do you use unsweetened coconut milk with your oatmeal? Wishing you all a marvelous Monday!

Good Monday morning! The WADDB is especially good on this very chilly morning. Back into the 80's and 90's by the middle of the week.
Connie, I've been wondering how the addition to your Eagles building is going?
Need to make a minor grocery store run in town today. Although my hundreds of hummingbirds have left for the migration, I still have several dozen hanging around and a lot of travelers coming through, so I need to get more sugar. Just finished up 110 pounds!
Bottling up more hot sauce today. Made one that is onions, tomatoes, garlic, hot peppers, sugar and seasonings like garam masala and cloves roasted in the oven. I put it through my electric Italian tomato press and need to add vinegar and bottle it up today. And yes, all but one bottle is going out to the grandkids in Colorado!
Once again, weeds are my life!

Good afternoon everyone.
Soot, I use regular unsweetened canned coconut milk. Normally the oats I used are supposed to be three cups of water but because of the thickness of the coconut milk I added a cup of water. I used steel cut oats and cooked the for about 25 minutes. They came out nice and creamy.
For lunch today I'm having a smoothie made with chocolate whey protein powder, coconut water, a big dollop of pistachio-almond butter, and a couple of tablespoons of caramel gelato. Very nice, indeed!
I'm waiting on Dude's X-ray results and hoping I can let the cats out later today if all is well.

Good morning everyone Emergency rations of instant coffee and knäckebröd available in the break room. 18 Celsius and dark and cloudy over here. Mr Rain was pounding the area this night but he's gone for now. No animal drama here. A mostly peaceful day is expected. Happy Tuesday GameBoomers

Oh yeah ... WADDB and bagels on a crisp cool morning is heavenly! Will keep my fingers crossed for next week's permit delivery Connie. Gerry, enjoy your walk ... it was a great morning for walking here too. Enjoy your peaceful day Fogfighter. I can't wait to try your oatmeal recipe Hagatha. Draclvr, I'm still in awe of your hummer sugar consumption given my three feeders and four birds. Happy Tuesday everyone.

Good Tuesday morning. Another fabulous weather day ahead!
Had a little excitement here about 5:00 in the afternoon yesterday. I was sitting here texting the Colorado grandkids and heard a chicken squawk right outside the window. Also heard a couple of security camera notifications go off. Nothing unusual, so finished the text and got up to see what was going on. Found a pile of feathers in the yard about 15 feet from the house and no Bella the Bloodhound. Checked the camera footage on my phone and a coyote had come up into the yard, grabbed a chicken and ran off! Bella saw it and took off after it right on its tail while it had the chicken in its mouth! They all disappeared into the heavy woods across the road. Hubby and I are looking up and down the road, but the woods are just too dense with undergrown to go into right now. That must have been one hungry coyote to come right up to the house to grab a chicken! I've got the whole thing on the security camera video!
Fogfighter, we have a lot of animal drama out here in the country!
Connie, I'm not surprised about your permits holding you up. I don't understand why it takes every city in the country so long to issue them!
Hagatha, sounds like you won't starve on your liquid diet!
Once again, weeds are my life!
