Can anyone tell me what's up with the red artifact that destroys everything. I have been playing this game for quite a long time and everytime I get to the part with the red artifact I have no idea what to do with it. I always go on to another level but I am curious about it. Does it serve a purpose other than destroying everything? I traded for this game a very long time ago on the Trading Post and I love it. Any suggestions. Thanks duh

GEES -- I'm moving this over to the Casual Game forum, where someone should be able to help you.

GEES, I haven't played but I know a few of the regular visitors to the Casual Forum have. I wasn't able to find anything on the net or in previous threads so please wait for someone to pop in.

Gees, this is normal. It is part of the game. There is no way to avoid the cursed artifact so just continue on your journey, your Atlantis Quest.

I had the same thing the first time I played and wrote to the developers and that is what I was told.

Thanks Ana, Linda, and Becky. I guess it's for visual purposes only. You're right Linda there is no way to beat the curse artifact. I was curious to why it was there. Maybe one more question. How many levels are there? I have made it to the 5th level. Once I reached the next to the last place on the map I ran out of lives. Is there life beyond the 5th level? I usually start the game over hoping to get some helpers. You know the shovel, hour glass, mallet, and the Jeany lamp. I am presently in the middle of the 5th level and I am luck enough to have some helpers this time. Wish me luck. Thanks again!!!!

Hi GEES, I wrote a trainer for this a while back and never posted it (by that time it was an old game and I figured nobody would be interested) all it does is stop the timer. I just posted it and you can try it if you really really can't pass the levels.

This reminds me of something I heard from my boss when I worked at a software house: "We can't get rid of it, but it doesn't really hinder the project that much. We'll call it a 'feature.'"

lol

The time cheat in AQ works great - you never run out of time and can complete the last level.

I don't remember how many but you will know when you complete the game, there will be no doubt about it.

To change the time you must go into each map in the levels you are having problems and change the time. I believe 10000 was the average time people chose but you can just as easily use 99999 instead. Just make sure it lines up right.

Thanks for all the help but.... I have no idea how to set the time. I downloaded the time cheat but it just stops the game. How do I set the time to 99999? Can you explain what you mean by "Make sure it lines up right". I must be doing something wrong but I don't know what it is. Thanks
Sandi

Sorry Gees.

The way I was told is "you must make sure it lines up right."

The way I did it was to put my cursor in front of the number, right at the number and then I just added some 999(as many as you think you need). If for any reason this doesn't work for you then you need to make sure the last digit stays in the same place instead of the first. (one lady had that problem)

When you open the map to change it you should open it in WordPad or NotePad as it will be easier to change.

If you still have problems, send me the map you are having problems with and I will change it and send it back to you. You can find me by clicking on my name.

Thanks a million Linda!!!! I went into the map using Notepad and it took some time. Putting the 99999 next to the number didn't work at first. When I went back to the game my time ran out the minute I switch the first artifact. So I went back in and changed all the numbers. I entered 00009999 and it worked. I have been playing this game for some time and crazy as it seems I'm hooked on it. I could never get past the 5th level. Now that I have all the time in the world I can just sit back and enjoy the puzzles and not worry when the little dinger goes off. Thanks so much!!!!

Hi Sue. I haven't been around much this summer. Nice to hear from you again. How's the weather down there? It's hotter than you know what here. By now I usually have my sweaters and boots out but summer hasn't left yet. We are still in the 80's. I know the weather in Texas is beautiful year round. But, I do like fall in New England. After that our weather stinks. I'm still waiting for an invitation to one of your BBQ's. lol

Thank you .... everyone for your help. I know I will enjoy this game even more now. I won't be sitting on edge waiting for time to run out. Thanks again.

Sandi

Oh, I am so pleased that you were able to use the hints/answer that Linda gave you and get all the time you need to play this game Gees.
It's hot here Sandi..plain and simple, still in the 90's each day. Just like summer and I'm waiting for cool weather to show up. I figure around Chrismas it will be cool enough to turn off the A/C and open the house up. Then I'll be a happy camper!
Sorry but it's too hot to BBQ anything outside but you're always welcome here. Bring sandals, shorts and tank tops please if you plan to stay for a bit.

Hello: Wow, thank you so much. I kept running out of time and I really like the game otherwise. I wish the game makers would be more lenient on time when making the games--a challenge is fun but not if it means one cannot complete the game.

Thanks again!

I must agree Jeane Lou. I find the game more challenging now that I have time to finish the puzzles. Before I would have to rush and sometimes make mistakes that were almost impossible to undo. Now I can take my time and think about what moves I want to make. I also like the idea of having the time to finish the puzzle without having to use the "cheat" artifacts that you collect in the first few levels. Thanks again Linda. I spent so much time looking at the map and I didn't see any numbers. lol Your second post made it as clear as can be. I would have never thought of using Wordpad to achieve getting rid of the timer. But then I would expect nothing more from our friends at GameBoomers. It took a while to change all the levels but I am finally at the 5 th level and going. Fantastic!!!

PS. Sue.... See you in early spring. lol. What kind of goodies can I bring? lol

Sandi

Hi there,

Kind of a newbie here. I'm playing Atlantis Quest and have figured out how to add more lives but what are the map files called so I can put in the 000099999 numbers to add more time? Having a hundred lives doesn't help if I can't get through the board in time, lol. I just end up burning a lot of lives smile I'm at level 6-10, BTW.

Thanks!
susanne

Susanne, I don't know what files you need but I think a few of our members have done this and will be able to help you when they see this thread.

Hi,
I am new to the forum and just saw your post. Sorry to be slow, but where did you post this trainer for Atlantis Quest at? I sure would appreciate a copy! Thanks!

Alaska, I can't locate it, but sent off a request for help wave

Edit: Alaska, I heard from the calvary. The trainer will not work in the BFG edition of the game. However, the method to change the time that is given just up a bit in this thread will.

luck

YOu need to download the trainer Here. AS stated above, it does not work on the BigFish version, it works on the Reflexive version.
Otherwise, there are people who did something manually as you can see by reading this thread. You can try that as well.

Hi Ana, thanks so much for that link.
Now I just need you to tell me what to do with it. Sorry but I am clueless. I have downloaded it to desk top then got my program files up and then dragged it from desktop to the Atlantis file. This is the part where I am lost.
Can you please give me an idiot guide on what to do next.
Cheers

maggsie, I never use trainers and not a clue what to do with it. Did you install? I read it has two buttons and you click the one you want it to do. duh

I hope someone that has used it can come and help you. Sorry I am not of more assistance.
