Finale wraps up a dynamic season of new Ages, puzzles and player-driven plotlines.Myst Online: Uru Live's first season is winding down to its final days. Over the past several months, the great underground cavern of D'ni has been home to many ups and downs. Numerous new areas of the cavern have been restored, granting Explorers access to amazing new worlds and places.
However, the road has not been easy for the D’ni Restoration Council (DRC) as they’ve had to overcome tragedies and adversities ranging from petty in-fighting to horrific, unexplained deaths.
Now the DRC must deal with the emergence of the Bahro creatures and the questions that have come with them. Each Council member has his own opinions on what will happen next.
Will the Bahro War bring destruction to the cavern? Will the DRC find funding for further restoration work? There has been great progress. There have been setbacks. Still, the future remains as cloudy as ever. For new screenshots from the final episode: "Exodus," click here. In the season finale, Explorers will be able to explore new areas of Uru, including the new Age of Ahnonay, K’veer Island and Myst Island. In Ahnonay, an Age of deception, mystery and visual wonders spanning thousands of years, players will witness the deterioration of a rugged landscape as they travel through time to uncover the truth. It will require cooperation, investigation, a keen eye, and the comprehension of a subtle and clever ruse.
“We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to launch ‘Myst Online: Uru Live’ with GameTap,” says Rand Miller, CEO of Cyan Worlds and co-creator of Myst. “Being able to bring this dynamic world to the fans of the franchise and a brand new audience of explorers has been a great experience. Uru explorers can find out more at the Myst Online website. For even more detailed information to help a new explorer get started, click here.

Even Gametap featured MOUL in its newsletter, and sounds like they are all working on Season 2: Gametap news The new homepage Becky pointed out has a great deal of news. Banners to dl for our siggies (if I can figure out how to do that) and a nice easy way for new players to try out the game. No one seems able to get into Nexus right now. I've made it into my Relto twice and once into our Bevin but I get a black screen every time I try to link to Nexus. Too many people. Gonna try one more time and then I'll come back later tonight and try again. That's one advantage of being on the west coast - things die down after 10:00 p.m. my time and I can go cavorting around with no problems. Although that may not be true tonight. Guess we'll see!! Edit: *sigh* Now I can't even get into the game at all. I'll try again in an hour. If anyone makes it in, post pics in the Bevin if you can!

Ooooohhh, it sounds so fun, Becky!! Okay, let me finish paying bills (I'm on a roll) and then I'll try again in a few minutes...

Hey Celtic Lark, sorry if I don't respond - I can barely move in the Watchers Pub! I'm debating whether or not to cut in front of Becky...hmmm Big time lag - I think there's 99 people in there!

I do indeed have my own book but when I tried to link through it, I got the black screen again. Think I'm going to give it a rest again and hopefully some more people in the eastern time zone will go to bed. Its only 8:15 pm for me.

Welcome back WW!!! Hmm..trying to remember what ages you may have missed. I guess Minkata, Ercana and the newest one, yesterday, Ahnonay. Not sure it would matter where you start. I think your best bet is to visit the Watcher's Pub which will be in your nexus links, and join us now in Ahnonay. We are all slowly coming to grips with it and it is so beautiful. Fun to explore it with all of us. After that you can start picking up the other ages, etc, that that you missed. Look forward to seeing you in there! Kate Katva

Whoooo boy! Drama in the Cavern today! For those who decided sleep was more important than watching Bahro fly in circles, you haven't missed anything yet. They are still flying around and screaming at each other. I think Cyan turned them "on" before leaving the office today (they appeared around 4:00 p.m. PST) and are now laughing at all us poor saps wasting our Saturday night watching them. But you know, that was a fun conversation we had. Twinkies, anyone? Becky - I have figured out how to get to the tower! Katva gave me a tip and I've made it every time I've swum out to it today. Now if I could just figure out what to do next... I swear, I'm so clueless without a walkthrough to give me nudges.

I loved our cliff talk. Obviously it's been too long since I've eaten Twinkies. I still haven't figured out who is exodusing -- us or them (or both). Congrats on getting to the tower! There's more in the Age to see that will eventually be helpful. (Becky attempts to be mysterious.) Hmmm. After the latest announcement, could it be that it's the DRC that's exodusing? And if so, what are the implications?

Well, Cate exodused stage left so there's one... Just a note here for anyone using the WT for the original offline game. As you may have guessed by now, it has changed. Just a little warning..heheh. Kate Katva (who cant remember her Ki number but now has a large supply of Twinkies on hand)

Hi Everyone!
I've been MIA for ages but hope to be here more often now. I downloaded URU again last night after not playing for ages also. lol. Wow! what a lot of new content! It looks great.
I'm moving so awkwardly after not being able to play for so long that its ridiculous so will practice my movement and try to refresh my memory about the game and get my Ki and hope to see you all in URU.
It's good to see you all again. I hope all my old friends are doing well.

Good point in your spoiler, Becky. I just heard a relay from Reletee (sp?) in Kirel. He basically said that we need to strengthen the guilds. That might support my theory that... Cyan is disbanding (or exodusing, as Becky suggests) the DRC in order to force us to take a more active role in the game. I'm thinking that we must not be in any immediate threat from attack if this is the direction they want to herd us in. Strengthening the guilds and building them into viable governing bodies will take some time and I'm wondering if it is our "homework" while the game is on hiatus. Maybe the Bahro will swarm for the next few months while we get our act together... To all the new and returning players, welcome!! Be sure you put us all on your KIs so we can meet up if we see each other online. Is exodusing a word??

I really enjoyed the "Bahro Watching Event" last night with fellow GameBoomer's by the library and yes, I'm still in one piece and obviously - alive.
Forget the Twinkies and bring on the real food!
I'm at work and I keep forgetting to write down my KI# so if you see me RhysLior - just say hi.

Hi Dadguy! It's great to see you. I just visited a new world, but not sure what it's name is. lol. I got there from the pub. It was an island. What beautiful new stuff we have! I finally drowned after numerous swims. What's your ki #?

I wrote your ki # down Dadguy and will add it later when I get back to UrU, thanks. Becky, please send me an invitation to get back in the gameboomer neighborhood so I can meet up with you guys. I did a little more wandering last night and was so impressed by all the beautiful new places. I discovered that in Ahnonay it's impossible to swim against the tide to get to the tower so will work on another way. I did find one of the hand print spots. What are they called again?

Journey Cloths. There is only one way to make it against the water currents to the Tower. Don't peak unless you want to know! You have to find the two rocks off the coast of the center area of the island. Jump carefully to the second rock to get as far out in the water as possible. Then turn slightly RIGHT and aim off to the RIGHT of the buildings and rocks in the distance. Take a running jump out into the water and keep holding down the RUN keys to swim fast! Keep adjusting your direction to make sure your direction is off to the right of that distant scenery of rocks and buildings. You should drift right and end up at the Tower stairs. See you soon! Melanie -- I sent the invite! Looking forward to seeing you there. Gamenut -- I saw your avatar run straight off into nowhere, and I knew it had suddenly acquired a mind of its own. LOL! Renee -- a spoiler hint for the November sparklie: There's zero chance it's in one of the ages.

Arrrrrrgh!!! Don't they know I'm at work??? Every time I'm not in the game, something exciting happens. I swear, I sat at my computer most of the weekend just waiting. I left it for a few hours yesterday afternoon and bam! The Bahro are in the City. I sign on and the City is so full I can't even get in. Although, it was awesome to see so many people playing again. I hope somebody gets pics of the Bahro fights to share. I left early on Friday to catch the opening of the new age so I can't really leave early again today. My boss is wonderful but I don't want to push it. LOL I think I need to start saving my sick days for episode releases. Gamenut - Somewhere around here is my story about my avvie suddenly acquiring a mind of her own while attending a speech being made by Cate Alexander. She just got up and rushed Cate and I wasn't even touching the keyboard or mouse!! It was embarrassing because people thought I was angling for a photo op. I discovered that you can regain control by clicking both mouse buttons at the same time. It is like they randomly get stuck in "run" mode for some reason. Becky - clever sparklie hint

Yup. Its over. And apparently Yeesha put in appearance as well and led the Bahro away from the City. You were right about the DRC, Becky. Good call!!

Thanks Dadguy! It seems that I missed all the excitement today too.
Becky, I didn't get your invitation. Please resend it. Gameboomers was not in the public list so I couldn't get there last night. It's going to be hard to meet up with you all if I'm not back in the neighborhood.
Thanks.

Celtic -- What you've said about the Episode Finale plot may be considered a spoiler to some -- I'm not sure -- but just to be safe I'm putting a spoiler tag in part of your post. This is strange, but I'm much more upset about losing the Bahro than I am about losing the DRC.
I can't believe they are gone! I'm going back in to check a few places where they may not have removed all of themselves. I've found a video of the final speech, as well as the text transcription (without explorers interjecting) of the final speech. They are in the Uru Obsession Cavern Today forum here. Scroll down near the bottom of the thread to see Moorgana's post for the video and Andylegate's post for the text transcription. If anyone manages to find a video of the Bahro fighting, please let me know!

So far all I have seen is a 7 second video, but if you play it over and over maybe you will get the picture (so to speak :)) J'iim on GOG posted a link here: Bahro short film GOG I know there are others so I will keep asking. Kate Katva #969932

Thanks KateVa! Was that what the Bahro looked like when you saw them from the palace balcony? Interesting that Yeesha is still wearing that blue necklace she acquired in Serenia in Myst IV. The one that gives her flashbacks into the past. And she's dyed her hair red again -- for some reason I find that cheering. With the Bahro gone, who will supply the December sparklie? Will we have to live with an empty slot for a whole year?

Thanks for the spoiler tags, Becky. It didn't occur to me that that would be a spoiler because it isn't something people can go experience for themselves. Anyone who wasn't there when it happened (*pout*) is going to have to learn about it by word of mouth either in game or on a board somewhere. But I would never want to spoil someone else's fun so tag away! I'm going to miss the Bahro, too. I never cared about the DRC or saw that they made much of a difference in my day-to-day D'ni life so I'm not really upset that they are gone, either. Never been a big fan of government-type organizations being involved in my life so I'm just fine depending on myself and my friends to pull together and create a better Cavern. Melanie, I didn't get back in the game last night (darn this need for sleep!) but I will be in for a bit tonight and will add you to my KI. I think I'm close to finishing Ahnonay but... I have a feeling I'm at the part where I've heard a buddy is needed, so I'm hoping some Boomies will be on tonight.

I'm worn out ~~~ I'm waterlogged! I keep swimming after I've jumped off the 2 rocks and I see the island with steps and a tiny sandy beach but I can't reach it. I just see it drift past. I guess the current is taking me away from it or whatever. Maybe it isn't the right place to be? I have tried so many times that I am starting to get worse, not better. Well, I did manage to click on a green journey cloth, for whatever that is worth.

Sierramindy - I can relate! I had the same problem until Katva gave me a hint. Click here if you want to see it: Jump straight ahead off that second rock and swim in a northeast direction towards the horizon. Don't turn and swim directly towards the tower or the current takes you right past it. Hope that helps!

Woe is me! The harder I try the worse I get. This has changed from adventure to action and I'm getting bored! I'll try again a few days from now and see if I can make it. For now I need a break, a nice long one.

Hi Celtic Lark and all, No problem about not getting back. I met up with Dudemom and she got me back in the GB neighborhood so now I'm where I belong again and I finished the cleft last night so will be ready to visit the zero and then start working the cities. I probably won't be back to the game until late tonight. My hubby is in the hospital and I'm going to visit today so by the time I play tonight pacific time, I hope I run into you all. Becky I just missed you. I was away when you came on and by the time I came back you must have quit for the night. I have a dumb question, actually a few, I picked up some cloths (line drawings) that are not journey cloths in my journal and when I click them all they do is highlight. What are they? Also, how do you get stuff to decorate your relto? How do I know the name of the city I'm going to? It's not written anywhere. Thanks!!

SierraMindy, Try this little video of one technique for getting to the tower against the currents. As Kate mentioned (and I as well earlier in this topic) the keys are: 1. Jump out from the second rock with the RUN (SWIM) buttons pressed. 2. Aim in the right direction. You'll notice that this guy immediately aimed to the right of the scenery when swimming. I actually aim a little farther right than he does, but I notice he gradually aimed more and more to the right, accomplishing the task. Give it a look. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v175/B...mingtoTower.flvMelanie, Those items you have picked up are know as Relto Pages. There are 15 or so located all over URU. They add scenery, decorations, and other items to your Relto. They can be "turned on" or "turned off" by clicking on the symbol in your Relto Book, then re-linking back to Relto. Bright green is OK, dull green is OFF. There is a resource at the Guildofgreeters.com website for the pages available and their locations. Have fun! Dadguy

Oh, Thanks, Dadguy! I was wondering how to decorate my relto! So I just click them on and then go to the relto? Thanks!!
That video is super too!

Hi dadguy, I clicked on the link in your post and got the message: This content requires Adobe Flash Player 9. Would you like to install it now? I clicked YES. Installation was successful and the version I got was 9,0,47,0. But when I try the link, instead of seeing a video, I get that same message again. So I installed it a second time, still got the message not the video, but didn't install it a third time. Still can't get the video though, so what am I doing wrong here?

Maybe your computer is not allowing it to install for security reasons. Does it have an option to save to your computer? If so, try saving it and installing yourself.

Okay, I'm giving up. I won't be able to get back in the game until Sunday. My siblings and I are throwing a surprise 60th birthday party for my mom this weekend (shhhhh.... don't tell her) and I've spent every night this week in preparations. By the time I'm done, all I want is bed. So has anything happened in the game... ...since the DRC left and Yeesha led the Bahro from the City? Is the episode over? Melanie - I hope to see you Sunday. Sierramindy - I would second Melanie's suggestion. Those installations can get a bit quirky and I'm not that great at trouble-shooting them. But I'm sure dadguy or one of the others will be more helpful.

Celtic -- the only plot point that seems to have happened after that is that Sharper returned to the cavern. You can read the log here. That happened on the 6th. It may be that, even though the episodes are over, characters may show up in the tavern for brief periods to report on what they're doing between now and Season Two. At least, that's my hope. Of course, I could be very wrong.

Hi Celtic Lark, I guess "quirky" can be a good word for that installation, or maybe for me, I'm not sure which right now! See message to Melanie. Hi Melanie, I wasn't sure if I could follow your advice because I don't know where stuff is on my computer, but I was going to try. Then I thought I would go to dadguy's link one more time to read the Adobe Flash Player message again, just in case it made more sense to me this time after reading your post. You will never guess what happened! The video came on and played and I got to see him swimming and reaching the island, what a surprise! I watched it twice to make sure of what I was seeing! Hi dadguy, Many thanks for that video. I get too impatient I reckon and start thrashing around changing directions instead of just swimming. Also I noticed the pixel (well, sort of) where he jumped off the second rock and I have been jumping off closer to the left or middle than as far right as he did, so maybe that was another mistake. Anyway, I'm off to try again and now at least I know how it should work if I get it right. Thanks again.

Sierramindy, AdobeFlash player is a good add-on to have on Internet Explorer. There are many many web pages that use it for displaying video. I was going to suggest that you might have to close IE, then open again to get the new flash player to work after installing. Glad you got it! The point where you jump off the second rock is not critical.. the guy in the video was just a little sloppy (trying to keep the movie as short as possible). You can take your time getting to the second rock, just remember to aim RIGHT of the scenery and keep aiming right of it by adjusting as you swim.( Cheers, Dadguy

Hi Dadguy, I'm trying, I'm trying, and getting nowhere. Once I was near the island at that sandy point but the game hung up or something and I couldn't get on it although I was standing right by it, so I tried jumping up on it and instead I jumped way past it back into the water and the current. Aargh! I do get close sometimes, other times I don't even make the jump to the second rock but land in the water instead and no way can one swim against that current. Still I guess I'm doing better than the very first time that I tried and jumped into the water by the waterfall when I was trying to jump across it to the next rock. I thought those must be the 2 rocks I was looking for back then. Anyway that turns out to be a total dead end as I learned after going around and around a few times! BTW, is there anything else to do on Ahnonay besides the swimming thing?

Hi SierraMindy, I'm glad you got it downloaded. It's easy to tell it where to go when you dl something. In the bar where it says save to, just click on desktop and it will be easy to find. Then all you have to do is go to your desktop and click the program to install. (for the next time you need it). What I meant was that usually when you click on a program you get a dialog asking if you want to save or open. You can click save instead of open. I hope that's fairly clear. I know I didn't explain it in the right order. lol. Celtic, I'm afraid I'm going to miss you on Sunday! My bro-in-law is flying in on Sat night so he'll be here thru Mon. I doubt I'll be online till monday night. Think we'll ever meet up??? lol. Well, it looks like I'm going to need help in teledahn. I can't make it to the bucket in time so need someone to help me by throwing the switch so I can jump in. I'm just not coordinated or fast enough yet. I'm hoping I'll run into someone with time to visit with me. See you all later. PS: I visited Zero and started my markers too! Melanie

Renee - Thanks for the fun party wishes. The planning has been a bit stressful (isn't it always?) but I know my mom is going to love it. Becky - Thank you for your last spoiler. And you were right about the meaning of exodus so hopefully you'll be right about this too! Sierramindy - Nothing wrong with being quirky. We all have a few quirks that make us unique. And as for the troubles you are having in Ahnonay (sp?), hopefully you can meet up with one of us soon and we can help you out. I know how frustrating it is not to get something in the game. I'm a little further in the age but I'm at a point where I'm going to need some help, too. Melanie - sorry we can't meet up on Sunday but I'm sure we will meet at some point. I should play a few weeknights next week so I can finish the new age. Have fun with your brother-in-law! And don't forget the Cavern Choir concert, everyone, on December 16th! We're ironing out more of the details this weekend at our final rehearsal so I'll keep you all posted. I believe it will be in one of the Bevins and we may have people go to our website to get "tickets" so we can control the amount of people in the audience and reduce lag. Hope everyone can make it!

sierramindy, please share your KI number (again, in case you have done it already) with us and we'll look for you to try to help. There is lots and lots to do in Ahnonay besides swimming!! CelticLark, I just realized you are one of our sopranos! CelticLark and I are both singers in the Cavern Choir (I'm a baritone). For those who might like to hear last year's concert, check out the recordings here... 4 songs, not too long, but very haunting and beautiful renaissance music: http://caverncommunicationsnetwork.com/uruculture/urulivingstudio/uruculture.htmSee you online! Hey dadguy! I thought that you might be the same "dadguy" I've heard about from Dom but I wasn't sure. It's funny how we're all singing "together" but we're a bit segregated since we mainly interact with Dom and the other people in our sections. Nice to "meet" you. Thanks for posting that link. I can't wait to hear what our holiday concert sounds like, especially "O Magnum". I loved recording that piece.
"See" you in rehearsal on Saturday!

The cavern choir is beautiful! Thanks for posting the link, Dadguy! How talented you all are! I tried setting up my old mike today. I hope it will work reasonably well. We'll check it out the next time I play. Untill I get a new one it will have to suffice if it works, that is. lol I played with Becky and Mikeplay last night and we ran into a whole crowd who helped me complete my two ages to get my wedge and rings. My relto is sure getting pretty now! What fun! Thanks Becky, Mikeplay and all who were so patient with me teaching me how to open the doors.
