Hi,

I hope someone can help me. I'm at the end of act 6. I have done absolutely everything in the walkthrough except the stopwatch timing from the Bathing Beach to the cove. Unfortunately, when I try to do the timing, Poirot tells me it's not the time or the place. So at first I assumed I'd left some other task unfinished, but I have done everything I can think of. None of the characters I encounter have anything else to say to me, so it seems like it's time to go, but I can't! When I go to Poirot for help, he tells me to consult the Finger. I do, and all the cards there are for people who either won't talk to me, whose rooms I've searched top to bottom, or whom I'm not running into anymore.

The weird thing is, when I looked at my instructions yesterday, "complete all stopwatch timings" was crossed off the list. But there were two of them still showing as "TBD" in my notebook: the one mentioned above, and another one (I forget which one). I hadn't realized that Poirot's voice was no longer going to prompt me to do the timings. So I went back and completed that other timing. The time was recorded in my notebook, but then the "complete all stopwatch timings" was no longer crossed off of my instructions. Very strange. I keep trying to do the Bathing Beach timing. I even went back to an earlier save to see where I was when Poirot's voice told me to do it (I don't know how I missed the prompt). Then I went back to my current game and tried to do the timing from that same exact spot, the bottom of the stairs, but I get nowhere.

So I just don't know what else I can do. I found the packet, tested it as heroin, got the key from Linda's box, opened the door and got the wire recorder...the walkthrough says I should be seeing George doing something about Linda, and that she took the pills, but nothing's happening!

I am one of the people experiencing the white-outs pretty frequently, so I try not to just wander around outside of the hotel without knowing where I'm headed. Is there some way anyone can help me?

Cathy

Hi Cathy and welcome to Gameboomers

I'm not sure what to tell you to do if you are experiencing the whiteouts. Have you finished doing the tests on all other samples that you've collected?
Do you want a saved game to get you out of this rut?

Hi, thank you!

I think I've tested everything but I'll go back and try again. I looked at the walkthrough and saw that I had missed finding the revolver in Blatt's suitcase. I went back and did that, and then tried the stopwatch timing again, with the same result. So I'll go back to Leathercombe Bay and try to test some more of my inventory items. If I just can't get anywhere, I'll post back for a saved game.

Thanks again!

Cathy

Ok, I give up...a saved game would be great, if anyone has one for act 7...

Cathy, I'm sure I have a save for you, but I'll have to fire my game back up to see which one is the one you need. Hold on...

Edit: Okay, Cathy, I just sent off the save to you...luck

Thanks, Jenny! It works! And thanks for your help too, Sue. I really appreciate it.

I'll keep lurking because my next game is another Nancy Drew, which are usually easier, but I've played a lot of other games in the past few years so I'll help others if I can.

You are welcome to lurk all you want to Cathy and certainly to answer questions on games you are familiar with. We love it when our members help each other out.
