Gemma, this just proves that you are a full-fledged member of GameBoomers!! This "ask a question on Hints and then figure it out yourself" is the most common syndrome after BAAGs...lol

Hi: Thank TLC got the save but cannot find any of my saved games anywhere on my computer have looked in program files, focus folder don't seem to have anything for Silver Earing anywhere yet I can play the game went back into the game and saved another part but it did not go anywhere that I could find this is mystifying as I have saved games on the game but can access them when I go to the game but can't access any saved games outside of the game does this make sense to anyone I am baffled. I am sure someone can figure this out thanks going back to game tosee what is up.

Are you playing in XP or Vista?
In XP - open the Publisher's folder (either UbiSoft or Digital Jester) in Program Files.
Then Sherlock Holmes folder, the Silver Earring and then Save folder.
The saves are in picture form.

Gemma,

Have you tried doing a search for the game? That will tell you where the game is located. wave

This game was issued by Ubisoft - in your program files folder there should be a folder called Ubisoft - that is where the game should have been installed to unless you chose a different location to install it.
On your desktop you should have an icon of Sherlock Holmes - right click on it to get properities - look at properties - that will tell you where the game is located on your hard drive.
Hope this helps.

gemma,

In the load feature, scroll to the beginning of your listings/pictures. They might be arranged by dates.

Hi: In the load feature in the game they are listed by dates but in the save folder they are listed by number the saved game that was sent me was 0038 last number was 0035 so changed it to 0036 but it did not work so tried to save some other games they saved in the load feature but not in the saved game feature wonder what to do next can't seem to get past the timed feature. Sure hope Nemesis doesn't have any timed features because I just got that one the other day but bought it here in Canada. Any help appreciated thanks MaG am I using the saved game properly maybe that's where the problem is not sure but am keeping on trying.

Oh PS thanks for switching the stuff over to my places sometime I don't quite get the gyst of where to post.

Hi GemmaJessie,

In the save folder, does your save also have a corresponding screenshot? (I think the save file comes in two parts, is that correct?) Might you then be able to find the same image within your load game screen and go from there?

I'm no expert when it comes to locating saved games within load screens, so if this guess is correct I'll do a jig around the room. smile

Inside that file gps (which I am not familiar with), did you find a 'save' folder'?
If so, are there pictures in there?
Then add the one sent together in there with numbers changed - take care with decimal points, spaces and extension if any.
Then play-load as usual. Scroll to the beginning of the load page and as Rushes said - look for that picture.
Load.

If it works, I will join Rushes in that jig around the room.

have done that number is 0038 changed it to last number 0036 then tried 0037 but it doesn't seem to go into my game could you send me another save and I will try again if not right now going to your walkthrough on screen am at part that says Is it near there? Turn middle at next crossroad but then I get lost so will go to your walkthrough on the walkthrough screen to see if I can see it better as my printed version is kind of hazy. Thanks MaG your good to me.
