An oldie of a game, I know.

Ok, recognizing my pathetic limitations. I have attempted this puzzle several times now. I will not ever be able to do it on my own I don't think. I can never get that darn trackball and its cursor positioned correctly!! (I don't do well with them in real life either!) Sad thing, it is so near the end of the game!! frown

So, I need a saved game with all the NORAD missle silo locations successfully deactivated!! hardwall x

Also, is there some trick to knowing which bio-chips to remove from all the robots heads from the get go? It seems by the time I get one, drag it to my inventory, the thing disinigrates and I have to keep restoring to get each one I need. think

I guess I just don't have fast enough reflexes or a steady enough hand. duh

Any help/solutions/suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks in advance.

MaG - once again, I appreciate your help.

Yes - in fact I have been relying on that walkthrough and it is very helpful. It isn't so much figuring out how and what to do at the Norad globe. It is more "me" related than the game if that makes sense. I may just have to give up.

My issues are:
First, I have real trouble manipulating trackball and placing the cursor correctly. I can find the location, but not get positioned right on it. Second - It is a timed puzzle. That is you have a mere 30 seconds to up to only 2 minutes respectively to locate, pinpoint with their cursor (not your own mouse) and deactivate each of the 10 silo locations across a fairly small globe. I know I simply will never be fast or accurate enough to beat this puzzle.

I checked several wts to see if there are tips.

here's one that might help:
Your goal is to as quickly as possible move the target over the active site and click the override button. Once you do this 10 times, the system will shutdown. There are 2 keys to doing this. One is to have a fairly decent knowledge of world geography.

The second is not to treat the trackball like a real trackball; that is don't keep doingclick-drag-release, just click on the part of the trackball you want the map to move and hold for as long as you want. e.g. to move left, click and hold the left of the ball.

Maybe those tips will help.

kiraalt,

I so empathize with you! I consider the trackball puzzle to be the hardest I've encountered in any game to date - took me days to finally succeed. Unfortunately, I didn't keep any saves.

I just did a search and couldn't find a save or cheat for it, but I did find an additional tip to the one MaG gave you.

"For those who are having problems with the silo and are getting frustrated at running out of time, just click where the Deactivate button would normally appear (lower right corner) and your time will reset! Nice little cheat there for the faster machines that keep jumping over the silo."

I didn't have this tip when I played the game, so I don't know how well it works.

About the bio-chips, I just checked the walkthrough here at GameBoomers, and it tells you which chips to take from the robots as you encounter them.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks for the great tips guys! Jema - I will try that reset thing. I didn't know it could that either! Could be my salvation! You all have inspired me to keep attempting it at least for a bit.
