Hi,
I'm stuck in chapter 2 looking for a ball that's to heavy. I've been in the sewers (all 3) with no avail. I've used the hammer on the pipe but I don't see or have a ball.
Help is greatly appreciated.

revco, I haven't played the game, this is what the WT says. Swamp: Go left and down to get back to the swamp. Go left 4 times to get to Quagmire. Third release of Quagmire: Use the metal cutter on Quagmire. He gives the last clue - shape of this implement. Quagmire gives the metal circular device. He kicks the ball away and leaves the chain. The chain can not be picked up. Is it the metal circular device, you're looking for?

i might have gotta the device but i don't think that's the problem. The control box seems to do something (I've used the chain) as i use the action & I hear a click. I can't seem to get the water lowered to get into the boat.

Thanks for the postings. Where might I find Nora? If she’s in the sewers by the boat, already did that. I do see the ball at the bottom of the screen by the opening but I can't do anything with it. Still not sure about the metal circular device but he’s not on the log anymore. Thanks again for all of your help.

Revco, From the WT, Boat: Go right and see a boat on dry canal. There's an open drain at the center of the canal. Exit and go left. Nora Ratty: At the big room, go right and meet Nora Ratty and her rats.

sorry but I'm really having a hard time here. I play many games but this one's killing me. Anyway, I don't see the vent or am able to use the whistle with anything. BTW, water is running at the boat so i can't reach the hole.

revco, Have you checked the walkthrough here. There are hints or step by step solutions. Block the drain in the canal: The ball of Quagmire can be useful if it can be brought there.
Whistle for Nora's friends: In inventory combine the rusty knife and the wood flute to get wooden flute with holes.
Use-action icon the wooden flute in inventory. Indiana Jones, Briggs is not. See the big rat come; take the ball and go through the vent.
Move the ball again: Enter the left vent.
Go right 3 times and see the locked door of the pump room. Use the rusty key from guardian on door.
Go down and see the ball behind the stairs at right. Read the note on the wall. Okay.
Go to the right and see a big wheel. Use Thor's hammer on the wheel. It releases a steam of gas and the ball rolls out of sight. This releases water to the canal.
Exit the pump room and go back to the metal vents.
Move the ball another time: Enter the middle vent and then go to bottom screen. See the ball at left has rolled here. Thanks, Ana.
Use-action the whistle to call Nora's pet. I love that song. The rat takes the ball another time. Where? I don't know.
Check the boat: Go to bottom screen and then right to the canal. See that the pump released water here.
The water is still draining and the drain is still open.
Hit the ball: Go back to the right and then go down to the office.
Use the chain to pull the drunken man off the control panel.
Use the control panel. Somewhere in the sewer, see the ball get hit by a big cricket bat.
Enter the boat and Briggs rows.
Chapter complete.

Let's review: Quagmire gives you the metal circular device. He kicks the ball. You go back via: Go right (north) 4 times and be back at the stairs area. Go right (east) through an entryway on the right wall. Then when you are now facing the 3 vents. Use the metal device given on the right vent. It doesn't open. Behind you is the ball that Quagmire kicked and what you want picked up. Whistle for the rat. Cutscene. Then enter the left vent and use the key on the pump room door. You see the ball again here somewhere. You release the gas and it moves the ball, thus releasing water. Go back to the vents and see that ball again. Whistle again to have it moved. You can go from here. I recommend that you go back to a saved game and replay following the walkthrough. That might get you going.

First off, I want to thank everyone for sticking with me through my troubled times with this game. This was what I wasn't doing: "Use-action icon the wooden flute in inventory." Secondly, I never scrolled down to see the details of the walkthrough so I was going by the top pages (summary).
So again, THANK U for all of your help...the adventure continues!

I am in chapter 2 by the one eyed worm. I can't find the "Rusty Key" from the ledge by its hole.
I have looked every where and nothing.
Please help

Thank you for the help.
The problem was that before it appears there were 2 inventory items that were supposed to be combined first. The walk-through left that out. According to the walk-through you were supposed to combine the 2 items after finding the Rusty key.
