Picture gondolas full of Nancy Drew: The Phantom of Venice!

Quote:
An Italian adventure has just been added to the summer itineraries of Nancy Drew fans everywhere as Her Interactive today announced that Nancy Drew®: The Phantom of Venice has shipped exclusively for PC. Available for purchase at retail, online, and via download, the 18th installment of the #1 best-selling PC game adventure series, Nancy Drew®: The Phantom of Venice, tasks players with uncovering the mastermind behind a series of unsolved thefts taking place throughout The City of Water during Carnevale.

In Nancy Drew®: The Phantom of Venice, the Italian police have asked Nancy for help in unraveling a crime ring that is stealing all of Venice’s priceless artifacts. Assuming the role of Nancy Drew, players arrive in Venice during Carnevale and take on an undercover spy mission for the Italian police! Learning a new language and navigating the transportation system will seem easy compared to matching wits with the masked thief who tests every bit of Nancy’s skill. Ultimately it is up to Nancy to determine who the mysterious thief is and stop him or her before it is too late.

Nancy Drew: The Phantom of Venice is rated “E” for Everyone and is shipping to retailers nationwide. You can also purchase it on the Her Interactive website for a suggested retail price of $19.99. For more information, visit the Her Interactive website.

Hello I was wondering if there was a different date for the digital downloads for this game. I went to her interactive and it does not offer the game as a download to buy. Thank you Trisha

Trisha, I thought it was going to be today. It's still early in Washington so maybe later today?

I thought it was supposed to be available via digital download today too. Maybe just later in the day, as Ana suggests.

My computer neds a new optical eye in the drive so I can't play any games right now that are on discs. Need to find a money tree ha haa so I can get it fixed. Thank goodness for digital downloads or I would be very sad sad. Take care all. Am very excited to play the new nancy Drew game. Trisha monky

Hi Trisha -- I finally found the thread where we discussed the dgital download date (maybe I shouldn't get "fancy" with thread titles in the future) and it's here.

The 10th is the correct date.

I know what you mean, JKEerie. I have about six games piled up by my desk that I haven't found time to play yet. But when a new Nancy game (or Jonathan Boakes, if I'm being really honest) comes out, I somehow find the time. Who needs sleep?

Wow, I think I'll head to Target tonight. Best Buy didn't have it yet when I called yesterday.

I actually saw the online store flyer at Target that indicated they'd have the game on the 8th for $16.99. The shelf was marked $19.99...but the price was the sale price. I was impressed Target had it that fast. Best Buy used to get the games earlier...but no longer.

Hope you have as good a fortune as I did, Celtic Lark!

JK

I got a notice that the game is out for delivery today via UPS,...I had preordered it. I love all their games and look forward to every one of them. Playing the games is one way that all my worries seem to go on the back burner. It is a lovely way to retreat!

Is there a demo for this Game?
Anyone know if it's a "chore-y" game or more like the older ones?
Thanks, caz

Yes there is a demo on Her Interactive site but it is 180mb so it can take a while to download.

I haven't got the full game so no idea if it is 'chore-y' - sorry.

It is not full of tedious chores, but there is a dance routine you need to learn, much like the fight scene in Danger with design. It is a mediocre Nancy, but no real complaints.

I've been trying to download the game all day (I purchased it at 2pm and it is now 9:42 pm). The downloader was very slow and it was at 90% when it froze and I had to begin again. After a while, I gave up and used my own downloader, but now it is taking 3 hours, once more. It is 37% done.. and there's about two hours left. Can anyone solve the slowness? xD

welcome to GameBoomers atogo. I'm afraid there isn't much you can do about your speed. Sometimes your provider will slow down the download to distribute the bandwidth. Some days mine is good and the next could be slow.

Okay xD But I normally have a fast internet connection >.>
Oh, I'm not new to Gameboomers, just a new account ^^ But thanks.
Whenever it's almost done, I mess something up and the computer has to restart.. so my mom thinks there's something wrong with it =/
I guess that I'll just see if I can keep the computer on all night to let it download.
