I've been having a great time playing Diamonds in the Rough and have made it almost to the end. But...

I can't get the cell phone to work on in the prison cell. No matter what I try, no matter how long I wait, whether I leave the cell and come back, he's too tired to look at the video on the cell phone. I've run through every "thought" with him, as well. I then went back to a saved game (to the point directly after Simon led me into Nadine's dream), looked at the walkthrough, and followed the instructions to the letter. Still no luck.

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? Is something missing or out of order? ARGH, I MUST KNOW HOW THIS FASCINATING STORY ENDS! (P.S. kudos to the game developers...this one's been tricky and interesting and frustrating in all the right ways)

Hi Sam R, if you've recorded the hypnosis session go back to the room where the security guard is & 'look' at his gun. Hopefully this should trigger the scene you need.

What also stuck here for a while. The gun is the key.

Thanks, Chrissie and Upsydaisy. I went back and "looked at" the gun and tried to take it again, and I looked again at the guard and the monitors/desk. Unfortunately, when I went back and tried the cell phone again, I still got the "this is hardly what he needs right now" message.

I must have missed something else. Maybe I'll have to go back to one of my saves from even before the dream sequence.

Hi Sam R, sorry that the gun was not the problem!. The only other thing I can think of is did you go into the other room in the basement & click on the sheet on the bed & pick up something from the shelves in there?

If you're still stuck I may be able to work out what you've missed if you want to send me your last save? It would be better than having one sent to you as it will upset your score & you'll never know what you missed! I've E-mailed you my address just in case!

Thanks, Chrissie, I really appreciate that. Life seems to have intruded on my game-playing time (hate that), but I'm going to give it another try this weekend. If I get stuck again, I'll send you my latest save and see if you can figure out where I'm going wrong. Cheers!

Use the dialog icon on Robert and then use the cellphone on him. Hope it works...it did for me!!!
