Hi there,

Is there anybody else out there playing "So Blonde" who can help me? I just downloaded it from GamersGate.com yesterday when it was released and I'm already stuck. I am having trouble figuring out:
Click to reveal..
The explosion on Morgane's "Big Ship" (you are supposed to blow something up here aren't you?). So far I've got Sunny out of the cell, picked up the slyly stashed fuse, put the gunpowder "charges" in the small bag for small things, but then I'm stuck. There are so many items left in the room but I can't get "Blondie" to do anything with them. I can't believe I'm done in this room with the brazier, lantern, cannons, cannonballs, a bucket & a plate all left "untouched" here. I've pretty much tried all my inventory items on the list above with no result...Help! crazy I guess I'll leave the room and search the rest of the ship again to see if anything else leaps out at me while I wait hoping someone out here can help me if I don't stumble on the answer in the meantime.

Thanks,
pd catrub

A small hint about this game for those who are about to start this game and wish to know:

Let's wait for a gamer to help you.

I'll wait when finances loosen up to get the game.

MaG,
Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. frown I know I too have had to budget carefully and am still only able to purchase a couple of the games I’m most desperate for. In these tough economic times I am grateful to still be able to do even that. Although I tell you the gaming companies aren't helping much - putting out so many quality games at once... How dare they? wink It's practically impossible to choose which ones to get!

I do wish there were a way to get you set up so your games were paid for either by donation or a nominal fee to be shared by the tons of grateful walkthrough patrons or even by smarter game companies who recognize the benefit of the work you do. What you do is a gift; your work enhances the enjoyment of many as you skillfully guide them to a complete resolution and enjoyment in the game they chose. I know I don’t often start a game without a walkthrough in hand. I seldom have the time to work through a game on my own getting stuck here and there. With your help I know I won’t waste time batting my head against the wall until I finally figure it out and I recognize you must do this for the love of what you do because the rewards can hardly be worth all the effort & hours you (and your team) put into it. At the very least I'd personally like to thank you for the many, many, walkthroughs you have written & other aid you have given that have aided my enjoyment and ensured my completion of those games I have played with your assistance over the last 7+ years that I have had access to your walkthroughs & Gameboomers. THANKS MaG! thanks

Wow Cathy! Thank you SO much. This will help me tremendously! See what I mean? You just made my day so much more enjoyable!

It's the least I can do...the quality of support here is truly amazing, unique and remarkably consistent. Day in and day out you guys are great! praise

The game has been really amusing so far...it's a long game with 3 possible endings (so you don't feel like you've been ripped off & you definitely get your $'s worth) and it's filled with wacky yet clever off-the-wall humor and unconventional gameplay and rich graphics. The only slight disappointment for me is the lead character animation - it just seems a bit muddy to me but you get use to it after a bit and the scenic background animation, and unpredictable storyline make you forget any other minor qualms. I'm wading through it with the translated German walkthrough but the translation is so bad it's like solving another puzzle trying to following it...but it is definitely better than the alternative! I hope to be able to figure out more than 1 ending, but for that I may have to wait for you...wish me luck! thumbsup

Did you sort out the puzzle?

Click to reveal..
You need to explore the crossroads and blow up the town door lock using the funnel (which will need to be cleaned), the fuse and the gunpowder

Oh my gosh this demo is so much fun! yay

I hate to admit it but Sunny says some of the things I would find myself saying like needing her makeup fixed before anyone seeing her. rotfl

I am determined I will buy this game as soon as it is released, even if it means taking some games off my wish list. This game is too good to pass up. bravo

I hope others will try the demo and see what I mean, this is a real winner and I love the sense of humor. thumbsup

I needed a game with a sense of humor since the last one was Nikopol with a grim future.

EDIT.........................
Ok I finally got stuck trying to get Sunny out of the cell. I have max looking around and found the other purse, but he isn't taking anything out of the purse outside of morgana's door. Is this the end of the demo? When I played as Max and went to main galley the game went to the credits. How do I know when its the end of the demo. Please help me get Sunny out of the jail cell if its part of the demo. Thanks in advance.

Vilia,
Yeah, I’m in town now. Thanks for making sure I wasn't still stuck...that was nice of you. Don't you think this game runs on its own set of rules:
Click to reveal..
Which seems fitting considering the whole gist of the game is for you to play through the “mind”set of your “So BLONDE” main character “Sunny”. The difference in mindset was even more evident when you swapped characters to play Max; things where less out of sync and more sensible. When in “Blonde-set” hardly anything that you could normally assume would work or fit together seem to be interconnected…and items you acquire can have a long lead time before use as well as (at times) multiple uses. Bearing this in mind you begin to be aware of what make “sense” in Sunny‘s world and the frustration begins to ebb and enjoyment ensues...
Hope you're having fun!

Sherryah,
I don’t know about the demo because I have the game but here’s how to get Sunny out of the cell:
Click to reveal..
Use Max to leave the hold and head into the corridor. There you will notice a bag hanging from a door on the right before the hall to Morgane’s room. Use the hand symbol on the bag and a bottle of rum falls to the floor. Pick up the rum and head up on deck using the left hall/door in the corridor next to the hall to Morgane’s room. Once on deck head down to the main deck and click-on the Crew’s Quarters door to listen to some important info. Then head left up two decks to the bow (front part of ship) to find a deckhand fishing next to a pile of empty rum bottles. Put the rum bottle down there and the deckhand will stop fishing and take the bottle and then leave. Pickup the fishing equipment (notice the bucket and square block for future use/recovery) and head back down to the main deck to use the fishing equipment on the Wooden Grille. This will start the mini-game where you recover the key. You will notice the key on the left shelf below the bell (try to avoid hitting the hook (metal part) on the bell or the jug on the right). Once you win the key head back to Sunny, give her the key & out she comes!
Hope this helps...it would be a dumb place to end the demo if they don't let you at least get her out of her cell. Good luck!

Thanks, pd. wave

Although if the game is moving straight to the credits then it does sound as though that's the end of the demo. think More incentive for you to buy the game, Sherryah, to see what happens next!

pd - I agree about the logic of the game but once I metaphorically removed my hair dye so I was blonde again (releasing my inner blondeness) it all started to make sense lol

I found an English language walkthrough which should hopefully be easier to understand than a translated German one.

Well only my hairdresser use to know for sure, but to the Boomer family shh don't tell anyone, I will admit as I have gotton older my hair got darker and now I need the help of loreal hair coloring. lol

I keep remembering when I look at Sunny thats the way I use to look. cry It will be interesting to know if any of the other women feel this way. Oh to look like we did when we were 17 again. At least through this game I get to think like a ditzy youthful blonde again instead of one stuck in reality of 39 years old and forever holding. wink

The writer sure has the characters well written. Amazing he can get into Blondie's mind and still be a man. thumbsup

I love this game it forces me to think like a 17 year old irrational mind again.

Thanks for the hints about getting her out of the cell. I will try again. How do you save in the demo does anyone know? I have to start over again.

This demo is the most fun I have had in a game it makes you feel younger just playing it, I can't wait to buy the full version but not through gamersgate. Is there another site I can download from? The sense of humor makes me laugh aloud.

Sherryah & Vilia,

Shhh...I didn't want to admit it but it sounds like we were the "Blonde leading the Blonde" there. Sherryah, I really connected with what you were saying about reminiscing about our younger blonder years. I too, used to look a bit like Sunny... but no more. cry These days I've begun to wear my grey-matter on the out-side of my head... scared

Vilia,
Thank you so much for the english walkthrough it will really cut down the amount of time and hassle spent deciphering the German translation! bravo

Thanks,
pd catrub

PD thanks for admitting I am not the only female that feels that way. Oh to be 17 again but only if I can retain the hard lessons I have learned so I don't repeat the same mistakes again. lol

Sherryah,
You are definitely NOT alone in both of those wishes. My mind and spirit have matured (though that's not saying much) from the younger version pacify of me (i.e. I'm less scatterbrained, less insecure & undeniably less fidgety-antsy) & I'm satisfied with those changes... it's the other changes scared I'm less willing to happily accept (guess I've got some more maturing to do!) since I would only go back to reclaim the strength, health, and let's not forget "beauty" (that’s still not saying much... but it was oh so much better than my current condition) of my once youthful, undamaged, less worn & torn old (I mean young) body.

Playing as “Sunny” has been a bit bittersweet but unquestionably worth the ride! I think you will really enjoy it once you are able to get the full game. Were you ever able to get Sunny out of the cell in the demo? Once you do get the game you should know, the walkthrough Vilia posted a link to above is an excellent, easy to understand (& follow) version. Take care and enjoy the walk down memory lane to our dreams sleep of yesteryear...

Thanks,
pd catrub

wave Hi Richard. Since the only language I can speak fluently is my native tongue english, I can tell you that the demo I downloaded is in English. You have a choice at settings which language to choose. It didn't take me long to download it either.
