Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if there is a sequel to Dreamfall? I have searched the web and seems back in March 07 funds were made available for a sequel, perhaps as a download? Any idea if and when it would be released to the stores here in the US?

Thanks, turkey

Hi BrownEyedTigre,

Yes, I did see that, but didn't see anything else, nor where to download or if available in stores.

Thanks for the response - wave

It is not done yet spankie...I am sure when it is, we will have an announcement.

It says Here that as late as June 2008 it was still going on.

I sure hope it won't be a MMO game. I would like to play it on my computer and have the disk. I don't like those kind of games where you download or play online. Prefer to have the actual game disk so I can replay the game at a later time.

Think the download games are a great idea, but not for me.

Thanks wave

Spankie -- as far as I know, Dreamfall Chapters was to be download only at first, with a disk version possibly following later. Funcom has other projects on their front burner, so Dreamfall Chapters may take longer to release than originally anticipated.

Thank you Becky,

That makes sense - to bad, they do make a better game than some that are out now, which I might add, have been disappointing.

thanks

Spankie, it is misleading: I too thought I reject the idea of downloadable chapters. However, it is only a different delivery form of the game - it's definitely not intended to be a MMO. It's like the new chapters of Sam and Max. It doesn't feel at all like an "on line" game. Well, cause it's not. You simply download chapters and play 'em. It usually is cheaper this way as well. For example, a whole season of Sam and Max, which is 6 chapters, and is as big at least as a regular game, costed me 28$. For a new game, that's cheap. It saves you delivery (and I live abroad and always make deliveries, which costs another 8$ sometimes).
Unless you're very materialistic (and I can understand that), there's no advantage to having a regular CD instead of a downloadable game. I thought as you a month ago, but I was proved wrong after seeing Sam and Max.
Besides, I think it helps the companies to fight piracy.
(oh, and one last thing: Your "rights" for playing the game are reserved after you install it. So if, for example, you wanna replay it in 2 years, you could. Also on other computers - that's a fact.)

Dreamfall was announced to be released in chapters, and possibly later in a cd (but it'll probably take time).
Anyway, whether it's a cd, chapters, or MMO (which it won't be) -I'm playing it cause I adore the first two games. smile

There's definitely definitely definitely no logic to human behaviour.

I like the box and CD, as I like to collect the games for possible resale later on.
Also, some of the discs that I have are worth more than I orginally paid for them.

An online or downloadable game is worth nothing for resale or trade.

I've just received an answer to my inquiry from the developers, unfortunately Dreamfall Chapters project is on hold at the moment because they are focusing mostly on other projects (Age of Conan and The Secret worlds)
