Here's a few:
Byzantine the Betrayal - about as close as you can get to a virtual visit to Istanbul
Chaos a Fantasy Adventure - lots of humour and some edutainmant. A fun game.
Chemicus, Physicus, and Bioscopia - 3 games all focusing on different science disciplines. A great refresher for those college science courses.
Comer - the ending alone is worth it
Connections - based on a TV program, the game allows you to follow how one discovery/invention leads to another.
Cracking the Conspiracy - lots of info about Roswell and other UFO encounters
Entombed - really good puzzles
Legends of the Prophet and Assassin - enhanced by a comely hero and a voice over to die for
Neverhood - a joy of music and claymation
Secret of the Luxor - one of the few games where dying was fun

metamorphium,I am kinda getting the hint Blue Ice and KofK may have been games you have designed? Where could we find them? We would like to play them.
------------------------------------
colpet,Connections,Neverhood,Secret of the Luxor were great games.I seem to remember one very long reading sequence in Neverhood that drew some complaints though.

Drascula is very difficult to find; it was never released in North America. I purchased mine from an eBay seller in the Netherlands. Persistence and motivation would be key in acquiring the game now. Cosmology of Kyoto is even more rare; the last PC version I saw on eBay, last year, sold for over $700; I have it, but it's the version for the Macintosh rather than the PC version. Blue Ice shows up on eBay a little more often.

This will tell you a little more about Blue Ice:

BLUE ICE

Riddle of Master Lu is an exilent game. If you liked Fate of Atlantis you will like this one too.
I had some problems running Dark Seed. It kept restarting when the postman came to the door. There is also a Dark Seed 2.
These are games that may not run on Xp and I havn't tried the new DosBox so far it's much better to play them on 98. For rme dosbox plays many different game but none have been as good as 98 is.

There's a fix for this; it involves checking/unchecking "read-only" files. I don't remember specifics, but I could find it with a little searching.

Dark Seed runs with no problems for me in the newest version of DOSBox.

I agree with all the choices so far; it's a lot of fun reading this thread. I would like to add Azrael's Tear to the list, a truly excellent game that unfortunately never received the attention that it deserved.

I got a patch for Dark Seed and it didn't work. If it were that simple I would have thought the patch would have done that. I will have to try that.

AH Azraels Tear!! Marian you hit on a beauty! I remember thinking what a great game this is while playing it.I also thought it would be fabulous to see this game with 2008 graphics. It would blow everything else away.

Uh, this hint is quite weird. smile I have design-wise nothing in common with them. They are awesome games yet really different. I highly recommend them. And if you want my games, you can always play Ghost in the Sheet. razz

Regarding Riddle of Master Lu and Deathgate - those are 2 games I have, but been unable to play, despite having a Win95 and a Win98.

Try this Riddle of Master Lu Dosbox setup guide on Inferno's site. Worked perfectly for me with XP. You can also skip The General Drill part, works fine without going through it.

Enjoy,

Barry

Metamorphium the way you listed the games and then had other game credits below it seemed they might also be yours. "Ghost in the Sheet" has "Keeper" status on my shelf. I cant give it any higher praise than that. The only other game (on my shelf) with that status is Uru.

Drascula is not the least difficult to find since it was released as freeware a few weeks back on the ScummVM site. Just run it in ScummVM. A link to the download page (scroll down to find Drascula):

Great, frazap! I had no idea this had occurred. thumbsup

Colpet, Death Gate plays very well in DOSBox, too; perhaps you can try it after you play Riddle of Master Lu. smile

How about these?
1. Temujin (Genghis Khan)
2. Phantasmagoria (1 and 2)
3. Black Dahlia (with Teri Garr and Dennis Hopper)
4. Tender Loving Care (interactive movie with John Hurt)
5. Shadow of Destiny
6. Bad Mojo
7. Dark Side of the Moon
8. Salammbo
9. 7th Guest
10. 11th Hour
11. Bladerunner
12. The Watchmaker
13. Amber: Journeys Beyond

I keep an old pc with Windows 98 just to play old DOS games on, so I don't know about running some of these on XP or Vista. Black Dahlia is a great game and collector's item...it's 6 disks!

If I remember right you need a Sound Blaster Live sound car or older sound card with the dos drivers installed to get those working.
Dosbox may work without the hastle.
