Are the Carol Reed Mysteries like the Nancy Drew games? They have been mentioned in this forum but I have never seen them in the stores. They are available as a large file game on BFG. Which ones are recommended by those of you who have played them?

I've only played the first two but I really like them. They're not exactly like the Nancy Drews, except that they involve a female sleuth-type solving mysteries. Maybe someone who has played all of them can tell you more.

And she as a note book so when you dont know what to do you look at the note book and it sort of gives you a hint .I like these games as each adventure ends and there is no follow up and they are logical and plenty of puzzals .Not to much talking either lol wave

there is small problm
color of murder is th fifth carol reed and eachone imo is better than the 1 before so this one is the best and the only 1 with the new inventon a builtin hint system mavelous.

each 1 is a separate story and no connectons except some same charatrs.
i would buy the last one nuber 5 tcom and if u like it work backwards.

What's really funny is that if you do alot of texting, you don't even notice that there are no vowels! lol

What's even funnier is that my son is starting to write his reports that way, and the teacher understands it! (only kidding).

LindaMarion,

GameBoomers is an International site. No need to ask if we welcome non-English members.

What is asked of you or any other member is not to use text messaging words - like shortcuts of the full words with no vowels.

Linda, download the google toolbar and it has a built in spellchecker that works very well. Also using capital letters in the beginning of each sentence is universal.

Firefox has a built-in spellchecker, works fine. smile
(It doesn't check for punctuation marks though....)

Texting is only appropriate when texting on a mobile. It is not suitable for a forum nor a substitute for writing or speaking (which sadly some do) in general. If you are in a hurry, come back later when you have more time to set a spell.

LindaMarion -- there are lots of people on GB who have English as a second language (or third or fourth language) and we understand that everybody is doing their best, and that grammar and spelling of course aren't perfect. Hundreds of people read the posts here, and if you purposely leave out capitalization and vowels from words, that means that hundreds of people struggle to read what you are trying to say.

Texting (I'm told) is what young whippersnappers do with their cellphones. They turn "you" into "u" and "four" into "4." All I know about it is that it's very expensive if your children indulge in it and you have the wrong phone service payment plan. grin

wave Hi Gatsbygirl. The characters Carol Reed and Nancy Drew are similar in that they are both young women whose lives seem fairly uncomplicated & focused. The games are similar in that they're played in 1st person --where you are 'Carol' or 'Nancy'. ND has more people-interaction; CR, not so much. CR games take place in one area of Sweden, showing actual places. The pics from the first one look like watercolor paintings of photographs, while the subsequent episodes are realistic in appearance. The stories are consistently well-crafted and engaging.

I'm a big fan of this mdna-game series and would recommend all 5, played in any order. thumbsup

I've just started playing this game & the photography is gorgeous but so far it's a bit worrying as some of the locations resemble some rooms in my flat! rotfl

Texting? scared Please don't ask me to! insane

N.B. Would top-up phones help for the offspring paid for out of pocket money or would you end up having to quadruple the pocket money? lol
