Hi!

A co-worker, who isn't a game player, mentioned today that she would like to have a DS and since I have never seen one, I am curious about them. Does the stylus work like a mouse where you just touch what you want to do instead of clicking? Do you save items in an inventory to use later and is there sound so that the characters talk to each other?

The split screen seems a little bit strange but does it work pretty well? What about game selections? I looked online at the games and it seems to me that a lot of the games are geared to children. Are there many games for adults?

Thanks!

Yes

Depends on the game, but many games don't have speech, or only have it in places.

Yes -- if the game is designed to work with the split screen.

Thanks Jenny 100!

I don't like hidden object games or puzzle games but love 3rd person adventure games. If there are some good 3rd person games for the DS, it might be worth getting a DS system. Have you played Hotel Dusk? It looks like it might be good. Thanks for the link to the DS info.

Lately there's been release of 3rd person type games that were on the PC, like Syberia, Runaway DREAM OF THE turtle, CSI, if you missed those the first time and there are the Sims games, which are different the pc versions, they're more adventure games. Also Animal Crossing, which I bought and my niece borrowed over a year ago and is still playing, there's also Nancy Drew, which is 3rd person, not like the pc version.

There's quite a bit of games out there for the adults but you have to search for them, most stores mainly carry the ones geared towards kids.

I've played the Phoenix Wright games and Trace Memory and liked those games.

I've started Hotel Dusk about 3 times now, but always end up quitting out of boredom before I get too far into it. However a lot of people seem to like it, so you may like it too.

I really liked Trace Memory and Tunguska is really good too. It does follow the PC game exactly though.

I found Hotel Dusk boring too, glad to see someone else did as well.

the Phoenix Wright games are well designed and great to play Ialso loved Trace Memory which I'm now playing for the second time, and then I will probably sell it. Some people like the Nancy Drew games other don't, the one I enjoyed was The Mystery of the Clue Bender Society, it was more like the PC game than the others, because you do talk to some of the characters and look for a lot of clues.

I would have to agree with orchid girl about Hotel Dusk, the story tended to get drug out, not one of my favorites. wave
