I've just finished playing this and loved every minute of it. Remember Monkey Island 1 & 2 and Simon the Sorcerer 1 & 2 ( I think we draw a veil over Simon 3 which I hated) well this is just like them with a few add-ons.
Simple point and click, good cartoon graphics, wonderful humour which had me giggling outloud on occasions plus a very helpful journal if you need a hint. Good subtitles, puzzles that made you think outside the box and a strong story line. Wonderful fairy story characters but with a twist. About 25 hours of game play.
Has it been released in the USA yet? If it has'ent you are in for a treat thumbsup

Old lady -- I liked the game a lot too. It has not been released in the US, but a few of our members (were you one?) have purchased it on Amazon UK and have had it shipped to them in the US. Amazon UK doesn't always ship games overseas, but apparently the affiliate that ships Simon 4 does ship overseas (or at least has shipped the game recently to the US).

Hi Becky, I bought the game because of your review, I've found that if you like a game then I do as well.
I live in the UK and bought the game from Amazon UK but I have noticed that many of their games are sent from the Island of Jersey which has differant customs and excise rules from the UK maybe that is why they can ship to the USA?
It's such a lovely game that I was suprised to not see more praise for it here at GB. Retro rules.

A kindred spirit! I'm now looking at your Cornwall, England location! lol I suspect that not many GameBoomers have played Simon 4 yet because there wasn't much publicity for the English language version when it released. Our Carla managed to track down the publisher and get a review copy for me. thumbsup

I found a little info about Simon V at the "news.softpedia.com" site and these two titbits jumped out at me ....

Quote:
It seems rather strange to hear that a fifth game in a series is announced, even though the fourth was not yet released in English speaking countries. The even stranger thing is the fact that the game was not announced by the same company that's working on the fourth iteration, which makes us wonder if these last two versions will be related in any way. Probably not, but I don't really care as long as they will be quality titles, just like the original Simon the Sorcerer was in the good old days.

and

Quote:
Unfortunately the company did not release any screenshots or artwork from the game, so we don't know if we should be excited or not. However, seeing how slow Playlogic is moving with the fourth iteration of the game, we wouldn't be surprised to see Simon the Sorcerer 5 released before it. And that would be very, very interesting!

Where did you buy Simon 4? I looked where I usually go and none of them listed it.

Hi EnrestineZ -- a few of the GameBoomers members have purchased it from Amazon UK here. The Amazon UK affiliate has been shipping the games to members here in the US.
