I've been thinking recently about games that I really like and for which I've been anxiously awaiting a sequel.

Topping my personal list is another Hidden Expedition game. It's hard to believe Hidden Expedition: Amazon was released almost a year ago! I note there's no mention of a fourth installment on the series website, but hope springs eternal!

Close behind on my personal "Wanted" list is another Agatha Christie HOG along the lines of the award-winning Death on the Nile and its successor, Peril at End House, which I believe was also released about a year ago. I have no idea whether there's one in development or not, but Christie's extensive work would seem to offer great opportunity.

Just wondering what games everyone else is anxiously waiting for!

Gos GPM, I have so many in my to be played pile that I don't dare start an "Anxiously Awaited" list.

I'm waiting for Magic Encyclopedia 2, which will be released next week; Big Fish will be getting it eventually, but I'm not sure when.

It's been pretty much confirmed that there will be another Hidden Expedition, but no information apart from that is available at this time. I haven't heard a thing about there being another Agatha Christie game, but I agree that would be a good thing. smile

Basically everything that is on the top ten list in hogs, adventure lite and puzzle and Margrave and Enlightenus. Is that a big enough list? lol

For me, no doubt a Virtual Families II and a continuation of the Ravenhearst series. I also liked Hidden Expedition games.

I'm waiting for another Hidden Expedition too as well as Neptune's Secret and, of course, Samantha Swift.

I'm sure it varies quite a lot, but just as a rule of thumb about how long does it take to make a sequel?

Return to Ravenhearst has only been out, I think, about seven months or so, so I haven't really expected there to be another MCF for awhile, particularly since I think there was about a year between the Hidden Expeditions (Everest and Amazon).

But I bought the first G.H.O.S.T in July of '07, so that was two years ago now. And I think two years may have been the time period between the two Mortimer Becketts.

I think it must be really hard to manage a franchise in a constantly evolving environment where game are expected to outdo their predecessor. But if two years is the new rule of thumb for a sequel, do you think that's too long and that people are perhaps more likely to have lost interest in the series or have moved on?

I've always kind of thought the second Mortimer Beckett may have suffered a bit because the first was so successful and the second so anxiously awaited that expectations for it may have been almost too high.

A year between releases feels about right to me, but I know that expectations for game quality are so high that that may be too short. How long would be reasonable in today's environment?

I was wondering about the Hidden Expedition and will be looking for that as soon as it is out. I really love that series.

And of course, the Return to Ravenhurst left you clearly thinking there would be a sequel, and I believe the original Ravenhurst was a Mystery Case Files product. So, there's two.

I like the Mystery P.I. series also and will be looking for that on Big Fish. I think it is on Spin Top now (Los Angeles)
Oh - I like the Big City Adventure HOGs. They did San Francisco and Sydney so I think it would be cool if there were other cities. I wouldn't mind seeing Moscow, Toronto, maybe Athens or Cairo. My only (slight) negative impression of that series is that it is a little juvenile, but hey! I play the heck out of both of them. Call me kiddo.

MooeyG, they are making a new Big City adventure but they are still silent on the location. It should be announced in a couple months hopefully.

There are sequels underway for Hidden Expedition, Mystery Case Files, and Azada...Good games take time thumbsup

They have been underway since the last version launched. You may have to wait, but you will not be disappointed.

For HOGs, I'll take any Mystery Case Files game. I still replay the older ones. Also the Little Shop games. I like the Blitz Mode option, and the trophies.

Azada sequel, yes. I preferred the gameplay on the first, but the second was extraordinarily beautiful. I replayed it recently and was really enjoying the graphics.

For TM games, I'd love to see a Ranch Rush sequel, and one for Plantasia. But Plantasia's been out for a long time with no sequel, so who knows? I also love the Emily and Chocolatier games.

I'd like to see sequels to Supercow, Turtle Odyssey (3), Turtix (3) and Ozzy Bubbles. There just aren't enough side scrollers around anymore for when I get bored of the HOG's.......

Wow, you guys came up with some terrific games that I love as well - and had nearly forgotten!

Great to hear from BFG_Guy that we can look forward to sequels for MCF (of course - never doubted it!), Azada (was pretty sure there would be a third), and Hidden Expedition (starting to get a little worried there, so whew!).
