I have to say that my ALL TIME favorite is "The 7th Guest". It is the very first adventure game I bought (dating myself here) and got me hooked. I have played so many adventure games I can't count them all. I have saved every game I bought, I just can't part with them. I can't think of any adventure game I didnt like.

I appreciate the suggestions. I am glad to find another person who enjoyed "Shivers," my all-time fave that I hope will be re-released so I can play it on Vista. Have you tried the "Casebook" series? I jotted down some of your suggestions and will do a little exploring on the net. Thanks much!

One of my first purchases was "7th Guest" and also "11th Hour." I still hear the words "feeling lonely?" when I was lost in the basement maze. LOL

Syberia, Bladerunner, and Blackstones Chronicles (if you're talking creepy and scary) are up there as some of my old favorites. My more recent favorites are the Carol Reed mysteries. I hope they make a #6.

Welcome to GB Mir. So sorry to hear of your loss.

I would say Return to Mysterious Island 1 and 2. RTMI-1 was the very first adventure game I got and I still play it. Magic Encyclopedia 1 and 2 are good also.

Lots of faves. A couple of older ones are "Golden Gate", a mystery in an unpopulated San Francisco (Angel Is., too); & "Titanic, Adventure Out Of Time", a voyage on a first-class ocean liner. The environments in both were very immersive and the stories weren't shabby, either.

My favorites are def. Syberia and Syberia 2. TLJ closely follows though. I have yet to play any games that top those three, in my opinion. smile

The game that started me playing graphic adventures was Kings Quest 2 so I have very fond memories of the KQ series and they still top my list of favorites. Getting away from nostalgia and looking at most enjoyable I would have to say a tossup between Gabriel Knight 2 and the Tex Murphy series because I have really enjoyed fmv games. 3d person is my favorite style and topping that list is The Longest journey.

But that's just me. crazy smirk

My first graphic adventure experience was The Secret of Monkey Island - and it has always remained one of my firm favourites thumbsup

After that, I was, of course, hooked - and searched for older games I might be missing out on at the same time as trying the new releases of the day.

But from all the games I have played, in all the years I have been playing, I still consider Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers to be the best game I have ever played.

For me, it has absolutely everything an adventure game should have yay yay

Probably Syberia 1 and 2 but have a special place in my heart for Nancy Drew Stay Tuned For Danger. That was my first adventure game.

The ones I enjoyed the most were probably Amber: Journeys Beyond, Morpheus, and Faust. Sanitarium would probably be right up there, too.

Oh, I almost forgot Blackstone Chronicles. Man, how I loved that game.

oldman Kings Quest 1 was my first adventure game but one of the funniest things I have ever seen was in Kings Quest 2. When you were on the mountain top and clicked on the promo for Space Quest 1 really cracked me up.

I remember that well and it cracked me up as well. Ah, if only Ken and Roberta had not retired.

oldman,

I loved all the Sierra games. Ken and Roberta ran such a good company. If you ever called Sierra with a problem they would send you out a replacement disc right away. I even remember them calling me back to make sure the replacement disc fixed my problem. I think I bought just about every Sierra game and I can't think of one that I didn't enjoy.

Welcome, Mir! I lost my Dad to cancer so I know what you are feeling, and agree that adventure games are great for diverting your energies. I share favorites with AnneG, and would add the Myst series, Grim Fandango, Nine: The Last Resort, Faust and Timelapse.

Games become favorites, as many people have posted, for various reasons. For me, a game is memorable if you can recall images, music, puzzles, and story line in your dreams. All of the ones I noted and AnneG noted do that for me.

Really tough to choice from soooo many good games but i would have to go with my very first adventure game, Broken Sword. Something about the lush graphics, puzzles that made me think and a story that keep me involved. After that i was officially hooked. I have played some good one ever since but Broken Sword was the one that got my attention.

My favorite game is Culpa Innata. There was just something about that world and setting that really intrigued me. I really can't wait for part two, as I believe it will go even further into the back story as well as Phoenix's personal story, both of which are what interested me most.

However, I have many other games that are so close to being favorites that they might as well be included. smile The Longest Journey is epic and beautiful, and I really feel it is like playing through a novel. The Gabriel Knight games are all outstanding, and I would love to see a part four. And Grim Fandango is both hysterical and moving, and it has an excellent story. thumbsup

Hi, one vote for Myst 3 (the best I ever played, although there are so many almost the best games)
