I just can't get Santino's vote, have Noogie's and Bugeye's yes, but Moose keeps siding with Santino. I have the 2 books with exchanged covers in inventory, have the seahorse head, and Murray (wish he would shut up as he doesn't seem to be any help) and a slug and empty jug, which I do know how to fill. But none of that seems to help. Sometimes I see a manatee after the vote, but not always. I am truly stumped.

Suddenly, now that I want Murray to talk, he stays silent most of the time. I check both books and neither one says anything about gory, but then Murray isn't as mean as he was. So how do I concentrate on Murray to get him to talk since up to now it has been random and I haven't paid too much attention, too busy telling him to shut up, my mistake, I see!

No, I don't think I prepped Murray in any way. I've tried putting the skull on Santino but nothing happened, that was back when I was collecting faces to get Bugeye's vote. Maybe I should try again? If nothing happens I will be back.
I'm back. I tried the skull on Santino, but Guybrush just says something about Santino's skull being on too solid so couldn't exchange skulls there so that wasn't it. Then I tried the skull on Moose, he mentioned something about ventriloquism.

I have found out how to get Murray to talk to Guybrush but he doesn't say anything about off with their heads. He wants to be put on higher ground sometimes but I don't know where that would be. Guybrush tried to cut off Santino's head with the sword with 3 different reasons but none worked. At least that was new dialogue for me. Murray isn't happy with Guybrush's sweaty legs, but hasn't said anything about torture. The manual has the torture book cover and the torture book has the manual cover, but neither one looks gory and nothing is mentioned about being gory in any way. Anyway, I have made a teeny bit of progress but at this rate it will be next year before I finish.
And by then this thread would be a mile long, methinks. Arrr!

Hahahaha. We'll do the spoiler now. Get Moose to drink by toast - immeduately use the sword on Santini's head. Then do it again - talk to Moose and have another toast. This time immediately replace the skull of Santini with Murray. Now talk to Murray completely about the brotherhood. Then show him the torture book with the manual cover.

I'm going around in circles, getting nowhere. I'm trying to get Noogie to talk by using the faces and I have seen his file and the nun's picture so I figure that's a clue but it doesn't help. Also trying to get to Flotsom and I think I need to use the locket in some way, but again nothing I try works. I've used the golden wrench on it and can get DeCava to daydream about the hut on Flotsom but the Voodoo Lady just gets mad and Guybrush cuts her off. Which reminds me that I've cut off Murray's head and it went over the side. I looked for it on the ocean floor but can't find it. I have taken a return trip through the manatee and found nothing there except the grub which I probably won't need. I played the bongoes and the bile rises, but I don't see anything else to do there. Now I'm out of ideas and I'm tired of trying to find the right face to scare Noogie, if that is even the way to go. I have read the comments about the walkthrough and I also marvel at how fast you did it. I'm really slow because I just stumble into most of the solutions without knowing what I was doing or why. But it is so neat when something unexpected happens and surprises me!

Talk completely to DeCava. He will tell you what he wants done. This is a 2-parter puzzle: 1. To understand manatee. 2. To learn how to sound manatee. To understand manatee - you already did several things for that puzzle - the locket. Remember what DeCava stated - someone at Flotsam taught Santini how to understand Manatee. HINT: - You as Guybrush has to go to Flotsam. HINT 2: - What did just happen to DeCava when you played with the locket. -I thought this was the funniest part of the game. Remember that the arrow of the locket transfers that person to the other picture you point it to. Place picture of Guybrush over DeCava's. Turn the locket arrow to point to Voodoo Lady To sound like manatee: You already know that you need the Tongue of the Manatee and one of the crew knows. You already interrogated them. At the helm is the file of the pirates - it is beside the barrel with the locket - study what's inside. Then interrogate them again. Bugeye will cave in. Noogie will cave in with facial expressions: stinky, crosseyed and geezer. Moose then knows where it is. Now that you lopped the head of Santini - he will be scared - interrogate him now.

Where do I get a picture of Guybrush? I can't find it in the files, only picture there that I see is of the nun. I'll do the Noogie thing for now.

So, another trip to the manatee innards, I feel like I'm commuting back and forth! Anyway, I got the tongue and then the picture, went to Flotsom by way of the Voodoo Lady and now I'm trying to talk to the leviathon for the manatee, but getting nowhere. At one point I had quite a long conversation but then lost it. Too many choices for me to remember, trying to write things down isn't helping, they talk too fast. Guybrush stops and goes up for air, so am I supposed to do something topside to help me with the manatee talk?

No, you just need air. Converse again. I think I have most of the conversation in the walkthrough. I replayed that part several times. You'll know if correct, she moves forward and if wrong she moves back in the cave. As for the answers - take a clue word from the questions. Check the responses for an appropriate answer. Example - she talks of time, answer with watch or clock or something related. Remember - this is a cheeky game; so you have to be cheeky in responses too.

I noticed that and I try for the sassy response, but sometimes it just doesn't go over the way I had hoped. One time I picked the line about getting a room for 3 nights, and she reacted with what did I think she was "some kind of a floozy" and then she liked the nerve of it so I got to try again, but in the end I lost it. Now that I've rested I'll try some more, but then I will use the walkthrough when I've had enough. Hmm, I don't seem to be too hopeful of my chances do I? That will never do, Guybrush, think harder!

Guybrush did it, much to my surprise, so I didn't need to look at the walkthrough after all. Good thing since, you will never believe this, but I don't know how to copy and paste. I was about to give up trying when something happened that made me think "Wait, I feel I'm getting the hang of this, try once more." So I did, and I actually got it, boy, it was great seeing her move forward finally. Before that it was forward, then back, forward, back, and so on. The conversation got long but finally gave out. I'm thinking the something that clicked just before trying that last time was recalling the hint about "moving forward with a good answer" and that put me on the right track. The funniest answer was when she asked what would he do if she ripped his head off? Answer: Stop, thief. She said that was a new one and she liked it, so moved forward. After the high of getting it right, I'm now stuck trying to sink DeCava's ship. So far all I can do is click on the main mast and disable their cannon and while it is down, I probably should do something, but what? Can't reach the buoy for help, can't get Morgan to help, can't go up to the wheel. Completely stumped.

Hi sierramindy, The walkthrough says: Immediately, use the seahorse head on the cannon. Use the cannon and fire the seahorse head.

Well, duh, I used the seahorse head on The Howling Monkey, the buoy, Morgan, everything but the cannon! Thanks, Rushes. And another big thanks to MaG. After finishing the game, I read your walkthrough. I enjoyed reading those questions and answers and now I know why the last try worked! Oh, I did like it though when the male manatee would say to Guybrush, something like "Let's go, litte buddy, that always tickled me. Had I been using the walkthrough I would not have made so many trips back and forth into the manatee and the game would have been finished a lot sooner, but it was more fun with the hints and I never did get bored (frustrated, a bit) with the game. Can't wait for #4 now! And I'll be back here again.
