Just thought I'd mention that the new Agatha Christie HOG is now available at SpinTop [/url].

I'm just starting it, but it seems to be very true to the spirit of Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile and especially to Agatha Christie: Peril at End House.

All HOG so far but, if I remember correctly, those games had some limited interactive elements integrated into them so perhaps they will be present in this game as well.

Thanks GPM I have played most of the demo. There is a bit of interactivity similar to Death on the Nile- such as find all the sugar cubes and put them in a bowl.
I agree it is quite similar to the previous though I think they are giving you more time to find things in this game. From memory you got a certain amount of time to search all the scenes per chapter, you seem to have 20 minutes each scene for this game?
Well so far not run out of time even though I had some trouble finding some of the smaller items.
I have it on my to buy list smile

The game is also at SpinTop. Will BFG be getting it?

They have the others so I have no reason to believe they won't get this one soon.

Highly unlikely Tammy. It is published by I-Play who have not been distributing their games to Big Fish for some months.
Games such as Day Dream series , Womens Murder Club are no longer making it to Big Fish.

I downloaded the demo from i_play and now whenever I open internet explorer, I get I_play screen. How on earth do I get rid. They are in my face and I want them gone!

cris53 - The only thing I can suggest is to make a search for I_play on your computer.

Whenever something like that happens to me, I do a "search" for the site and delete it. I also go through my C drive and look in the programs. Delete it if it is there.

Maybe someone else can help you on this but I hope this helps a little.

Sorry guys, this is why I don't post when it hits on those sites. I've been accused of being biased , but the only two sites that leave no traces on your computer have been BigFish and SpinTop and if that means that news about a new game gets released a few days after it is released somewhere else that I don't recommend downloading from, then so be it. It's just not worth the changes made to your computer to get a game a few days early.

I am deleting the I-play link out and will replace with SpinTop. This happens way too often.

I am sorry you are having troubles cris. Delete the game and run ccleaner. It should take care of it.

Cheers Ana What's ccleaner? Is that Disc Cleanup(in "My Computer - properties") I've deleted, but it's really dug itself in. Still the search page. I'm very cross with them and me!

Go into add/remove programs and see if there is anything I-play in there. Then Download ccleaner and keep the defaults and clean in with the cookie cleaner and the registry cleaner. Just be sure you leave it at the default so you don't clean off more than you should.

It will clean off some passwords so be sure you know them so you can get back on. lol

I apologize for leaving the link. My fault. I knew better. Won't happen again. sad

I wanted to apologize for posting the link to I-Play that caused some of you so much trouble!

Like you all, I absolutely **HATE** to have my browser changed, so I can well imagine how you feel! In fact, I feel so strongly about it I wouldn't even install BFG's games toolbar.

Because I do feel so strongly about this, though, I am SUPER careful when I install ANY program, games or otherwise. I elected out of these changes during the installation process when I downloaded from I-Play, but I think maybe some of you inadvertently didn't.

A lot of programs are doing this these days, though, and not just games, so I thought it might be helpful to illustrate what you might want to watch out for in the future.

With respect to I-Play, the default installation setup screen looks like this:

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/GPM_01/DefaultInstallation.jpg

(This is a screen shot from the latest Women's Murder Club game, but the installation screen for AC: Dead Man's Folly is exactly the same.)

If, like me, you don't want to make I-Play your homepage or Yahoo! your search engine, you should elect Custom and then uncheck those options. The preferred installation setup screen, then, looks like this:

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/GPM_01/PreferredInstallation.jpg

While this may be helpful for the next time, I know it's not going to do much for you right now!

Hopefully the below will help:

TO CHANGE YOUR INTERNET EXPLORER HOMEPAGE:

In Internet Explorer click on Tools, then click on Internet Options. Under the General tab is the Home Page section, which contains a text box where you can type in the URL of whatever homepage you want.

TO CHANGE FROM YAHOO! AS YOUR DEFAULT SEARCH PROVIDER:

In Internet Explorer click on Tools, then click on Internet Options. Under the General tab you will see Search (under the Home Page and Browsing History sections). Click on the "Settings" button and from there you can change, enable or disable any search provider listed. If your preferred search provider isn't listed, click on "Find more search providers" at the bottom of the box.

I really hope this helps anyone who may still be having trouble! I know of people who don't want to install any game programs, including the BFG Game Manager program, because of things like this, so I truly hope this helps to put everyone right!

P.S. I was disappointed to hear that BFG will not be getting future Agatha Christie and Women's Murder Club games as they are among my favorites.

Perhaps a developer affiliated with BFG will work on a game series from Anne Perry's Thomas and Charlotte Pitt books, a similar series that I think could be adapted along similar lines for casual gaming - hint, hint, hint! smile

Thanks GPM.

I doubt that BF would take an IP that someone else holds copyright to when they can develop their own and the profit is all theirs. They are doing quite well with their own IP's such as MCF, Hidden Expeditions, Drawn etc....

Wow, disappointed that this game and Women's Murder club will not be coming to BFG. Oh well, I will keep an eye out for SpinTop has a sale.
