I have just started playing this game, and I am in trouble. I have done everything including picking up the sheet of paper with the four triangles on it. I put the paper in my journal, but I cannot get the mirror or the charcoal to work. What did I miss.

Maybe replay this part. If you placed the paper in your portfolio and have read it; you should be able to use the picked up mirror and charcoal on the paper. Maybe that will loosen the problem up.

where is the water fountain I am supposed tp fix? I found the pool but not the fountain. Thanks

Did you take the fountain diagram paper from the wall in the workshop yet? Place that in your journal, and it turns into an interactive puzzle. That's where you "fix" the fountain.

Saturnin has the actual fountain mechanism.

I have worked the puzzle, but I cannot get Saturin to talk about the fountain or the paper I need. Thanks

Sounds as though the puzzle needs tweaking. Double check how you have everything set up. The water should not flood. When everything's correctly placed on the journal page then that triggers the conversation with Saturnin where he allows you to take the mechanism. Be sure to have spoken with Babou about the fountain also.

I am under the house where the trap door is, in the kitchen. I am supposed to use flour on the metal sheet. Where is the flour. It has not been mentioned until now. Thanks

Have you already picked up wheat from the pantry? Go to the mill and grind the wheat for flour.

I did that. I forgot all about that. DUH!

I forgot and left the flour at the mill. Ha Ha. Okay, I got back on track and now I cannot get the gold to pour into the mold. I have the gloves on, but the crucible will not pour. Sorry to bother you so much.

Have you done these:

Take the furnace cover off after wearing the gloves and drop it on the floor.
Swing the arm to the furnace, click the handle, swing the arm out and click the handle again to lower the crucible.
With gloves on, pour the molten gold on the gold blank mould.

I did all of that. That is why I do not get this part. That is, understand why it won't work. The crucible is where it should be, but it will not pour.

Check that the gold is molten and not still solid.

Is the crucible fully lowered onto the table?

Is the blank coin mould on the table ready to have the molten gold poured into it?

Rushes, You are so much help. I have the wrong mold and I did not realize it. I am slow on the draw sometimes and that is why I have problems. I can't thank you enough for your help. I really appreciate it.

I am at the end of the game but I do not know what to do with the cannon and I cannot get the still to work with the salt and saltpetra. How do I get these to work. i will be glad when I am through with this game. HA Ha HA

Make smokescreen - Go to lab bench in the study. Light the stove and place water, sugar and saltpetre in the still. Click the iron box to get fumigant.

Be sure that you have prepared the steering shaft and strut and finished the flying machine.

Have you made a hole at the cellar wall already?

If you have done all the above - then knock Hector unconscious at the secret passage.

I can't get the still to work and I do not know how to fix the cannon.

How did you enter the secret passage earlier - did you use the cannon to blast a hole on the wall or did you do the elevator?

If no hole in the wall:
Place the jack under the axle of the cannon where the wheel is broken off. Insert the crank in the jack and hoist the cannon into an upright position. Pick up the cannon ball on the floor near the stairs and insert it in the muzzle of the cannon. Open the flap on the cannon and fill the chamber with the powder you made at the laboratory bench. Lastly, light the fuse on the cannon with the lighter to fire the cannon ball at the bricked up section of the wall.


As for the fumigant prep - is there coal there?
Did you light the coal?
Is the container empty before you added the items?
If the fire in the stove has died out you first need to relight it. Pour the saltpetre, sugar and some water into the copper pot, then fill the iron box with the mixture to make a fumigant.
