Hi MaG

I am having trouble with the padlock at the top of the tower. I am told to click on SW S N and NE and use the lock picks. I have done all this but nothing happens.
I can see three padlocks two of which are in the middle of the door and one at the bottom in S position. I have also tried clicking around the perimeter of the door but again to no avail. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Bob,

You only need concentrate on one padlock. Looking at the locks, take the picks from inventory and click them on the locks. That'll bring you into close-up with one lock only.

After turning the pick to each position you should hear a click and a "ta-da" sound - that means the position is correct. If you don't get the "ta-da" then you've hit the wrong spot and need to start over.

Thanks Rushes, it worked dead easy. So simple when you know the answer.

Hi abby,

The game itself isn't timed, and there are no puzzles with a timer ticking away in the corner - but there are one or two puzzles that require a fairly fast response to either activate or solve. You always get another chance with them, though.

Happy New Year to you too!

Where the walkthrough recommends you to save the game, it is only in case you make an error with a puzzle and need to replay that part, or, in the case of the game ending, provides the opportunity to play out both possible endings.

The sections which require a fast response are not difficult to get through if you consult the walkthrough and know what to do in advance.

hello everybody I want to wish you a happy new year.I'm having the same problem as Old Lady , that is I'm trying to enter the emegency code. I went back to check if I had the right number and I did find it was correct(DT 934).I've pressed the white squares of the model given in the book and when I flip the switch on the right it says:"good man you'll crack the system with that". Is there something I can do to help me through that puzzle? Thank you. Sali

sali,

-You need the letter for Dowerton. It is E.

- Then you need to check the 3 numbers for this station. You find it by going up to the crossbridge and look at the number under the emergency light right of the railway.

- Then open the book to Great Western Railway and look at the pattern that corresponds to the 3 numbers you saw outside.

- Enter E and the pattern on the board - then pull the lever. luck

I'm having trouble helping Gloria out. I have the bloody money, crime mag, and steering wheel on the makeshift dashboard; I can't seem to get past this, it keeps on coming back to facing the bed and the window. I've tried about 50 times all different questions but can't get past this scene...Please Help!!

As was pointed out to me, have you checked everything, pictures, the bed, etc. in the room? Something has most likely been left out.

Hi Haner, welcome to GameBoomers.

You've got as far as Gloria sitting in the "car" with you, and having the dialogue?

The dialogues are random, but as you make your choices you should take note of these responses from Gloria, and match them with the line of dialogue:
"Yes, I must not forget", or: "If only my life had been different".
These are the correct responses which will help you through this sequence.
Eventually through trial and error you will be able to match the dialogue with either of these two responses and Gloria will be healed.

luck

When I gave incorrect responses while in the 'car', I never found myself outside the 'car'.

Glad you got through, Haner. thumbsup

Hi Bubba - after Gloria crashes the car you do find yourself standing back inside the room ready to replay the scene. I think that's what Haner meant.

Thanks MaG for answering me. I've done all that ;I even went to check the number on the license near the bridge. Still the puzzle didn't work. Do you think I should go and ask on the patch and glitches site if there could be a glitche on the game. Thank you. Sali

sali are you sure you have the correct pattern for "on" and "off"? I had it the wrong way around the first time... oops

I'll be back, one day, when I feel like it.

sali,

I don't think it's a glitch.

Please double check the Western Railway pattern that corresponds to your number; have E on top row and be sure to check what Pollo stated. The white squares are the active ones.
Then pull the lever.

You might want to draw the pattern and follow your drawing in the puzzle. Good luck.

Thanks, Pollo.
