Hi smile

I finished Mata Hari yesterday and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it thumbsup

A nice "inbetween" game for me in that I didn't have to think too hard and had fun with the little mini puzzles - especially with them having the "skip" option for when I might not have been in the mood wink

And an especially BIG bonus was that the game installed and played perfectly on my WinXP Home - no hitches whatsoever !!
bravo bravo

Cheers.

Mad happydance

Mad, I agree with you whole heartedly!
Was a most enjoyable game,
but alas....
my dancing skills did not improve with practice lol

Thanks, MaD

I had taken Mata Hari looking for a trade off my list...But I read your post, and decided to look for a trade & give it a whirl...

Hi Darleen03 smile

Because of the mixed reviews, I wasn't expecting too much from the game so I was pleasantly surprised happydance

In my opinion it certainly isn't a "full-on-whizz-bang" adventure, just a nice quiet little "inbetweener".

And if you do get it, I hope you enjoy it yes

Cheers.

I'm glad you enjoyed Mata Hari, Mad and katbear50! I haven't gotten around to playing it yet, so it's good to know that there are some people that liked it.

Aside from the dancing, how were the mini games in general? Were they easy enough, or did you end up skipping most of them? I thought I read somewhere that you had to play through all of the mini games in order to get the better ending. Is this true, or can you actually skip some of them and still receive the same ending? smile

Oh, I didn't get the best ending !! blush

I was not exactly good with the "dancing" mini games lol and that's probably why.

But it didn't bother me because I easily managed everything else and enjoyed myself thumbsup

Thanks a lot for the information, Mad! I'm guessing I probably won't get the best ending either. lol

Good to know you enjoyed the game. thumbsup

I know this thread is a bit old, but I just wanted to say that I also enjoyed this game.
The interface was easy to learn and the mini-games were just the right skill level for me.

I’m not picky about graphics, but this games graphics were very beautiful. I found the story interesting also, particularly the historical figures that Mata interacts with.

I hope there are more games like this.

While I enjoyed the first couple of chapters in Mata Hari due to the setting and lush graphics, the game for me became rather boring and repetitive. It wasn't necessarily the mini-games, but the actual moment-to-moment "adventuring", that was some of the dullest, uneventful and unexciting I've ever come across in a game.

I can understand people enjoying it, though, if you're just in the mood for a slow game, and you're interested in the character and time period. I played through to the end because I heard that the conclusion was particularly interesting. Unfortunately, I just didn't care enough about the character for it to make an impact on me. It is a game I tried to enjoy.

I think that's what good about the Adventure genre .... The variety !! bravo

I wouldn't want to play a madly exciting or hectic/stressful game every time grin

Yeah, I definitely agree. There should always be a wide variety of games out there for people to enjoy.

I agree with you; I played the game when it came out and at first, I was pretty excited about it, loved the graphics, the atmosphere and everything. After a while, it became a bit tedious, then it became boring. I really hated the mini-games because I thought that they were only there to stretch the game. Also, I was a bit disappointed by Mata Hari herself - I expected more from that character, she seemed awfully shallow to me. I liked the ending, though.

Shiny.
