I post this question years ago and i think we had some fun with it.
Please let me ask it again.
Ok you are picked for a arctic research team to go to the arctic for a year. They are paying you so much money you can't turn it down.
You will be totality cut off from every thing,no phones, internet, mail.
Do to weight limits other then your personal stuff you are only permited a laptop and three
games.Only THREE to play all year.
WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
Mind would be URU.Riven.and older game Commandos.behind enmy lines.

Choosing only three is really difficult!

The Black Mirror
Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper
Sherlock Holmes The Awakened

I could play these over and over and never get bored with them.

Dark Fall 1 The Journal
Keepsake

Yes it is difficult. I've shuffled my 8 favourite games about several times but have arrived at these because they are so different and will give a bit of variety.

What an interesting topic.

I would take the agatha christie triple pack, broken sword 1 & 2 double pack and I'd have for my last game Secret Files Tunguska. Technically it wouldn't be cheating cos you didn't say we could only have 1 game in each box.

Hmm. I think I would take a trio of endlessly replayable games. A couple puzzles (The SET game, perhaps, and MaxJongg - 3D mahjongg) and an arcade racing game like Ultim@te Race Pro.

Of course, upon returning to civilization I would probably spend a fair amount of loot on non-puzzle, non-racing games. smile

There would be no point for me. Without access to a walkthrough and my lousy memory, I'd be stuck within a few days. So Nonogrid and Mahjong Eternity with Quake on the "can't die" setting.

Uru
Grandfather (type of solitaire on Linux KDE3)
Mahjongg

(or possibly Dungeon Keeper 2)

I'd take --dare I say it--RPG's like Morrowind and Oblivion as there are many ways to build a character and lots of quests to keep one busy. puppy

Oh, interesting topic! I would take:

Culpa Innata
The Longest Journey
Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within

Or, alternatively, if it was in the future, I would take:

Culpa Innata 2: Chaos Rising
Gray Matter
Rinascimento

It would be better to take games that I have been really looking forward to and haven't played yet, as it would take longer to get through them the first time. Plus, they would be fresher for a longer period of time. grin

Definitely Uru, even though I've played it there is lots more to see.
A year's subscription to Peter's Jigsaws.
Blue Ice - I've never played it but I think it's a very difficult game - just the thing to keep me occupied.

Yes, I too would take the RPG Morrowind. A fabulous game with which to while away a spare year (in my case) or two lol

For an Adventure, though, I think I would it would be one of my favourite oldies - like Gabriel Knight : Sins of the Fathers yes

EDIT :
Ooooh !! I can have three !! So "Scrabble for PC" would be my third happydance

Tough one. I have so many unplayed games on my shelf I can't choose. But definitely one adventure, one RPG and one endlessly replayable puzzle game. I love ritchiesbabe ingenious idea of taking a multipack. So probably
1) Adventures in Terror (British Horror Collection) containing Dark Fall 1 + 2 plus Barrow Hill
2) Dragon Age: Origins
3) Mahjonghh

I'll be back, one day, when I feel like it.

the kat sneaks in thru a side door and says quickly
"I would just make sure my subscription to
Club Pogo and BFG were paid-up for the year,
and travel light."
the kat sneaks back thru self same door w/tail
between legs.

Civilzation 4 (BTS). Not an adventure I know but if I had Civ 4 I wouldnt need to select two more. Simply the best long term replayable game ever.

My game choices would include one game that I haven't had time to get my head around such as: AnaCapri

1 RPG such as: Morrowind

& 1 time management such as: Diner Dash 4! smile
