Kjos -- I'm probably wrong, but I assume that a British accent is the same thing as an English accent.

If you are from Florida and Simon sounds like you, I'd say he probably has an American accent in Simon 5.

Your from the USA to Becky so you must have a american accent to. It really doesn't make any difference in the game play, still sounds good. I really like the game simon 5. Well worth the money.

Oh Becky! You have just offended the Scots and the Welsh. We may be called the United Kingdom (and then you've upset people from Northern Ireland as well), but we are all very proud of being what we are, and traditionally mistrust (tongue in cheek!) EVERYONE else.

I am interested.

Is this a short game? How challenging are the puzzles?

The graphics look a bit comical (cel-shaded, I mean), very different look from the previous 3D sequel.

The puzzles aren't that hard. If you get stuck just look at the hints. I've been playing for about eight hrs. and a little over half done. Really like this game. I think the graphics are great. But that's just me.

I just read the blurb about "the localized accents" I'm from East Anglia (England) Will Simon be saying "Hev yoo go' a loight boi?" like we do. I think not.

That's a very strange localised accent you have there Becky. Don't think it will translate too well!

Going even further off topic, probably, but here is some old "Lancashire" talk (from where I hail) for you lol

Cuttin Id Teeth
by Joseph Baron

For weeks it's slavvered o th' day through on hankitcher an' bib,
It's slavvered on idsel an' me - it's slavvered on th' owd rib.
It's shoved id neyve into id meawth, an skriked an' kickt id legs,
An' o becose it's gooin' to ged some "ickle peggy-wegs."

It's chewed id hand for heawrs at wonst, it's chewed id ivory ring,
It's chewed - eh dear, aw r'aly think it's chewed at ev'rything.
It's chewed mi' ears, it's chewed mi nooase, wi' gums as hard as segs,
An' yet thad little bab o' mine corn'd cut id peggy-wegs.

It's bitten away at th' Tum-cat's tail, till th' Tum-cat's t'en id hook;
It's bitten away ten bob's arrears fro' th' rent-collector's book.
It's bitten hoyles i' th' sofy seat, an' polish off th' cheear legs,
An' still thad little beggar corn'd fot eawt them peggy-wegs.

For the benefit of those yet to be 'edicated', th'owd rib means the wife; neyve is knife (of course). Ten bob, in the old days, was half a pound (money), hoyles is holes, and cheear couldn't be anything other than chair'.

The art style is very different than the last game, even though the game is made by the same developer.

It is kinda cartoony, but still in 3D. It is hard to describe.

Richard, what're your thoughts?

I LOVED Simon 4 and have been waiting for this game. Was it a long download? I loved the graphics in Simon 4 are they the same or better in Simon 5?

EDIT............Hmm it seems that question is already answered but I don't know what cartoony means because the other one was that also in my opinion.

Will digital download in English be available anywhere other than gamersgate? I have had some bad experience in the pass with their downloader.

I think we're in wait-and-see mode in terms of where else it will be available.

Has anyone else downloaded this game from Gamers Gate? Any comments about the download process?

I've downloaded a lot from Gamers Gate and never had any problems at all. I really liked Simon5. The last chapter was a little hard to get through but I did it. No wt needed. The hints helped out a lot when I got stuck, and you will get stuck some time.

Hi kjos smile

Did you get a manual with the download or don't you need one ??

I hardly ever download games so I'm not sure if manuals are always included but I'm getting sorely tempted to download Simon 5 as there's still no sign of a release here in the UK - where I've had it on pre-order for eons frown

Cheers.

Mad grin
