FJT, there is an easy way round this puzzle - there is a knobby looking thing about half way down the panel on the left side before you enter the close up of the puzzle. Click that and the puzzle is bypassed.
Given you are watching CB, what made you decide which puzzles you could bypass and which you couldn't??

I don't know whether CBSection31 will allow it, or even be upset, if so please ignore the following.

There uis a walkthrough of the demo **ONLY**which happens to contain the full solution of that very difficult puzzle.
Just the solution but not the extended logic behind the solution.

P.S.
In possible apology to the Developer:
As he is aeware, and with his permission I understand, the Demo walkthrough was posted well before any mention was made of an official walkthrough-guide of the whole game - in fact it wasposted and open to everybody since the full game had not been finished or released.

If the gamers need help, they can post and Chris or others that played the game can help.

Thanx MaG. happydance

It might be a bit difficult to reproduce the solution since I think that it's a bit complicated.
But I imagine that it can be explained by the Developer or somebody else - as suggested.

flotsom - Originally, that slider puzzle was supposed to be a lot more difficult. In addition to sliding the pieces, the pieces also had to be rotated. Essentially, the original point was to make a puzzle that was nearly impossible to solve, and so the solution was to discover that you can bypass the puzzle.

Unfortunately, the rotating part of the puzzle would simply not work with Windows 7, so I had to disable rotation.

In other words, the whole point of that puzzle was that you were supposed to figure out you aren't meant to solve it!

I decided to include bypasses on a few of the other puzzles because of their difficulty level. smile

harhan3 - No worries! Len had my permission to write that demo walkthrough. I don't mind you posting it at all! smile

Chris, on the "You must have hope" puzzle, how should the sentence read after doing what line 15 says and in line 16, does it say swap the 10th letter and the "I" Thanks, FJT

Line 15 should read:
CANNOTAIOVDTFADE

Line 16: Swap the tenth letter and the I, then replace the second to last letter with T, then remove the letter after the remaining D.

Got it MaG. Thanks a lot. So I have 5 shards now. I've weighed the candy. Conquered the work schedule puzzle. What's up with the peg puzzle downstairs? What's the object?

The walkthrough states that you can unlock this puzzle now but does not have any reason to. I found it in the next chapter.

If you want to do it: Place the 4 pegs in the trapdoor so that all lines are lit. A peg will light up all the lines connected to it.

Hi FJT,

Let' see...I'm not sure which shards you have already, so I'll just list places to check to find all of them:

- The work schedule puzzle (you definitely got this one)

- The chest backstage (I think you got this)

- The scale on the counter in the lobby

- The slider puzzle in the office

- The cash register in the lobby

- The men's restroom floor tile puzzle

smile

Hi Chris. I didn't get the one from the scale. I weighed the candy and that's as far as I got. Did not see any other hot spots.

Thanks MaG. I did this and nothing happened.

Did you grab a cup from the counter? You can put it down next to the scale. smile

Hi, FJT. I DID get the shard from the scale. First use the Scizzors(in inventory) with the bag of candy to get an OPEN bag of candy. Then, in CLOSEUP view of the scale use the open bag of candy on the scale. Then in the CLOSEUP view of the scale,REMOVE the cany from the scale. Then, also in CLOSEUP view of the scale,
drag the CUP from inventory onto the far right of the screen. Then use the open bag of candy on the CUP. Then use the (now partially empty) bag (from inventory) and drag it onto the scale. A drawer on the right side of the scale will open. Click on it to get the shard.
I reccomend that you purchase the "Companion"
book from Chris's website. It has all of the solutions to every puzzle in the game.
By the way, I DON'T get a commission! smile

Thanks Sanford. I did happen to figure it out along with the trap door puzzle. Am now involved with hearing the whole story about Ferucil and his victims and will proceed from there. Hope you're enjoying the game as well.

In the projector puzzle, if the lower left and upper right arrows light up, does that mean the correct tiles are in place in those 2 positions?

Not necessarily, no. It simply means that a line is pointing at the arrows. The key to this puzzle is to ensure not only that a single line connects the lower-left arrow to the upper-right, but also that the line goes through every tile.

I need a little help please on the projector tile puzzle. Could you please tell me where one or two tiles go, just to get me started. Thank you.

I can describe the picture in the walkthrough - hopefully it will be clear.

You need to have a solid line from bottom left arrow to top right.

The tile beside the bottom left arrow has 3 lines: one from arrow to center, one from center going down and one from center to diagonal to top right corner.

The tile at top right arrow has 3 lines: from arrow to center, from arrow to down and one from center/diagonal to bottom right.

If you need more tiles, tell me where you want it located.
