Thanks, Carla, very interesting report. I've been close to giving up on Gray Matter, but that's all changed now. Once again I'm eager for the game!

Hmm i duno about this game. If its like gabriel knight 3 (one i liked) then i might get it but if its just things like magic etc i dont like that was said about the game. Gfx look dated from screenshots too.

Skeeter, it's a Jane Jensen story, obviously it's not "about magic and stuff", but as usual it's occult mixed with science/history/facts.
Secondly... I don't recall GK3 having good graphics

In carlas article it goes on to say you need to do magic or something. Hence my dismay.

Well i guess ur right on the gfx for gk3 but for the time it wasnt too bad.

As for the magic in the game, as I understand it, they are magical tricks as in the tricks that conjurers (magician) use to perform on stage. It may well be a card trick or some other well known trick magicians use to perform, we have to do in order to complete a scene.

And great that you got to see so many young people there Hopes are up for the future of the adventure games

But when is the game being released? The latest info I could find was Q4 2010. Is this true? Because it seems as though the game is fairly close to being ready now.

Fourth quarter 2010 is the most recent info we have too.

Skeeter, I agree with Tomer: it's a Jane Jensen game and the magic tricks are just a part of it.I mentioned them on my report because this diagram system was quite unusual.
And regarding the graphics, the pictures you see in my report are the actual pictures of the game shown on a big screen connected to the computer,taken with a digital camera in a room not dark at all.If you have a look at recent screenshots of Gray Matter you will see that the graphics are very detailed.

I wonder if Steven Pacey still sounds like Del Tarrant, his Blakes 7 character.

I'm actually really looking forward to the magic aspect, as it looks like a unique form of game play. Skeeter, if you look on the Gray Matter website, the graphics are stunning.

The only thing I'm disappointed about is the style of the cut scenes, but that's a minor issue when everything else sounds amazing.

Looking forward to a rich immersive experience. The short story released a few months ago showed that the narrative and characters will be what lifts this game into a class of its own.

I thought I read some ime ago that it was some sort of casual game or with hidden object elements.
But it seems from the excellent article that I was very wrong and that it's a nice full proper Adventure game.
Can somebody confirm for certain since I love JJ but don't like HO searches.

This is a full-blown adventure game and I haven't heard one word about hidden object searches. Though Carla could confirm that.

Jane Jensen is involved in a casual game. It's released by Big Fish recently. Ana confirmed that the Jane Jensen: Game Designer/Creative Director of that game is the same one of Gabriel Knight fame. The Casual game is titled: Deadtime Stories.

It looks great, can't wait to play it.
