Is there spoken dialogue or just subtitles?
Asking because the screenshot shows a dialogue bubble.

Veera and for taking the time to answer our questions. I think you have sold some games here and believe me once one Gameboomer finds a good game it spreads like wild fire on this site.
I'm hoping that you do put out a boxed version.

Originally we designed the game to work with a text dialogue, but there is a possibility we might get a spoken dialogue after all (in many different languages).

Our only concern is that we want to ensure the spoken dialogue is high quality. I think we have all played a game with horrible voice acting and know how much damage it can do to the whole game.

So in a nutshell: We will definitely make spoken dialogues if we can get enough resources to make it high quality!

It would be great to hear your thoughts on this!

for answering my questions. Now I know I will buy the game. Will there be a demo before the release of the game? My favorite games always have voice overs, otherwise I keep wondering what the characters voices would sound like. I sure hope that you have the resources to do this.

We thought about it for a long time and realized it would be very hard to showcase the quality of our game in a demo - you might be able to see some of the graphics and experience some of the gameplay, but you would only get a vague idea of the story and mood that are the highlights of our game. A demo is still not out of the question, but I personally feel that you need to experience the complete package and a small taste wouldn't give you enough of an idea what this game is about. So right now I would say we won't be releasing a demo, but I will let you know if this changes!

We will of course release a lot of information, trailers and other materials to help you decide whether or not to get Alpha Polaris:)

I'm really happy to inform you that our company got a publishing deal with The Games Company. Some of you might already know about this, but I just wanted to mention the good news in this thread as well. More information will follow in the future, but right now I can tell you that Alpha Polaris will definitely be available both as a digital download version and as a boxed version. The game will also feature spoken dialogue which has been in great demand in this thread. The games release will be pushed to early 2011, but this means the quality of our game will also be more polished. You can get more info on these sites:

I thought I should update this old post, because we now have a new publisher. The people we worked with at TGC founded a new company called Just-a-game and we will be publishing with them. Other than this little has changed - we will have spoken dialogue, the game will be released in 2011 and you can buy it both as a digital download or a boxed version.
